Steelfish is a much bulkier model and doesnt have the sleek styling of the rounded crystal on the navitimer, I'm considering it since wifey stole my navitimer. As for the model is the series speciale navitimer from joshua (but most dealers have it), natural 7750 configuration and date does not sit as low as other navitimer models.

The smp has been around for over 10 years, there are plently floating around with aftermarket parts (especially considering the price of omega's band)... A 60 serial number is a 90's production date.

I dont think he took it to any "watchmaker". Most "watchmakers" can tell an asian 7750 from an eta, or at least realize it doesn't look quite right. I think he just said that to make himself not look like he was the only person that was fooled. I think A couple of the BCE's that have been posted in the last week are reps too, an awful lot of people have bought "gen" graphite dial BCE's in the last week.

Forget painting it... You should lightly polish the raised markers on the bezel to give it some contrast (either polished, or give it a brushed look).

There is also a big differance between wearing a rep into an ad and flaunting your rep at an ad... If your using your rep as a way to get preferential treatment or big stuffing your asking for trouble.

You should be able to paint the entire bezel then send off the color you dont want. The bezel looks more polished then the rest of the case on the gen (or at least the few shots I've seen on the web.)
