  1. Hi guys... i got most parts for my FrankenDJ ready to be assembled, but there are a few things that i would like to ask before i [censored] them up I got an Ubi DW overlay... what glue do i need to glue it on a 2824 DW? How do i secure the dial on the movement... someone mentioned glueing the dial onto the spacerring and glueing the movement to the spacerring as well... maybe there's a 'softer' method to secure the parts? I hope someone can help me out here
  2. That would be really great Angus! Thanx for taking the effort to keep us demanding customers happy
  3. No mates... not nighttime... worktime it is... i hope to see the pixx within an hour or 7-8 when he comes home from work.
  4. Maybe repaustria has a solution for this...
  5. Now you make me really curious Watcher!
  6. I think you're correct but i have never bought one of these... personally i think they take 'm out old DJ's Guess you're right Pug... think of this... this is a fairly moderat priced super-rep... way below $300, priced at around $275... if this was the BIG HIT... i'm sure the price would have been much higher. So i am also waiting on the real super-rep SD...
  7. Is there a good review of a Santos 100 somewhere? I can't find one... so i am kind of clueless towards possible flaws on this model. I have an older asian Santos100 and i think it's pretty accurate. Since i like it quite a bit i am considering upgrading to a swiss version but it would have to be a real ungrade... not just a more expensive movement Any comments please ??
  8. No??? Of course not!! This is the SD thread... @Jake... this is exactly how they should line up on the SD... the dials of both Angus' verion and the King version had quite good dials. The flaws where more in the hardware section
  9. With all the help offered... which worked very well when Angus talked to us the whole time about the first IWC Cousteau Divers... I'm really sorry this SD is not what we all expected it to be. Of course they will sell quite some... but i think not enough... and remember... these forums are just for the new high end reps... after this they produce the canal street versions of it and these go in big volumes!
  10. thanx for the info guys... i was completely unaware of thise double layered crystals!
  11. I don't know anyone with the skills nor the equipment... but i am interested in the result It does sound like a great idea because although some PreA dial came close... non where 100% accurate untill now. Keep us posted!!
  12. The rehaut seems quite good, the case is thick like it should be, the space between the correct looking He valve and the case edges is perfect... and the crown sits high enough in the case... not so low as all other rolex reps (except the vintage MBW 1665).... so the basic are quite good i'd say. Of course several flaws need some adjustments and for the price most of these superreps cost i think our Chinese friends may solve the flaws before offering the SD for sale
  13. Hi guys, I've already had 2 UPO's but both where shipped back to the dealer because the tube thread was crappy. The UPO is however still calling me So i wondered what mods can/have to be done to make it into a complete kickass rep. I was thinking about the next mods but i'd love to learn from your experience... - genuine bezel + insert - genuine crystal or maybe just an AR coating from Chieftang? - dial... does it need improvement? - does it take a genuine tube/crown (and can you order them) Thanx for your input
  14. Is waiting for the aquatimer chrono hard? No... doesn't affect me ...
  15. Hahaha... still not ready yet!! We are getting slightly wacko from waiting
  16. i had several Ingenieur chronos... all rotten mvt's... untill one was serviced by one of Eddie Lee's watchmakers in the far east. Now it runs within COSC specs and the chrono works perfectly... I actually never expected it to turn out this good.
  17. Contact Angus! he's a great guy to deal with and is good in sourcing parts
  18. Congrats mate! That's a very nice watch. I hope it runs problem free... does it have a good power reserve? I am still wanting at leats one of these portuguese chrono's... didn't make my mind up yet, but the blue dial really looks fantastic! I hope you'll be shooting some pictures in the sunlight as i can imagine that will be just great. The genuine one i saw a few weeks ago had a really deep dark blue dial, slightly shiny which changed from almost blakc to quite bright blue in the sunlight... beautiful !!
  19. i am doubting if i should by a B&R BR03 in PVD ... just as something to keep me happy for a little while...
  20. same here!!!!!!!
  21. Sorry to say so but with the wear on the case and probable waterdamage i'd say 200-250 USD max. It will need some attention before a dealer can sell it again, needs a new strap... and unfortuantely MLC devaluates fast. New these watches sell for around 500 euro (= 650 USD).
  22. Thanx Neil for making clear which Submariner is the best The MBK has a better rehaut... better bezel... better crown... better pearl... ah well... it;s a better watch for a better price
  23. That asian calendar is really weird ... 2 weeks of our calendar equals now more than 14 weeks on their calendar!!
