Test: IWC Aquatimer Cousteau Divers Chronograph
yellomen replied to Seadweller4000's topic in Other Watch Reviews
Great detailed review! Thanx a lot ... nice reading material and i fullly appreciate the amount of time/work you invested in this -
Mwah... i'm not so much of a foot fettishist... But if you figure out something with a nice ass and a watch Hahaha... looks like you guys are having a good time!
-
@Teejay... thanx for the great reading material It's a nice review, partly of the genuine, partly of the replica. I was wondering though... i have exactly the same verion of the VCO. Of course the flaw of the caseback is obvious, the ship has no relief but is polished. Furthermore the dial is off white and i thing the gen has a white/silver dial... Can someone confirm this?

I think the dealers go crazy over all the ppl asking for a better price, moaning about the high price for an asian valjoux, complaining about the 'superrep' prizes... all emails that have to be ansewered... if they lower the price the moaning, complaints and expectations would be less. So... talk about saving time and headaches

Take it easy Chief!

Welcome Jac... give the search option a try and i'm pretty sure you'll find all the answers on your question

i am getting slightly impatient... there's still no news, no new pictures, no release date, no price... same goes for the Rolex SD.... and absolutely no pixx of the new GMT-II yet... it looks like all the new projects are very quiet these days... (IWC BP and Bing Ingenieur as well)
-
Hahahaha... non... if you want a good investment, take it to the bank or buy a rolex I guess so, but it is not a standard eta7750... the chrono part has to be removed. But i guess it should be possible
-
Congrats with such a fine timepiece! Very nice
-
i have a gen dial... and possibly a gen module or even complete mvt...
-
@Rob... now that's cheating! The lume shot is Kruzer's IWC CD! The day/date give that away Great job again, Rob

Curious for the new pixx Rob... It is such an awesome watch when lumed... but i'm not ready to miss mine for a few weeks
-
i'm curious if someone heard from Angus about an update... I'd love to know what the status is of this beauty and of the PAM252, Rolex SD and other soon to be released watches...

I wear replicas... at least most of the time. Also when i go to an AD. Years and years ago i was wearing a modern MBW Submariner (first 2004 series without lugholes... raving on the forums about the watch at that time was huge!) to Harrods when i wanted to try on several watches. At that time i thought this to be an incredibly good rep... so good an AD couldn't tell the difference. Years later we know much better of course, but the guy helping me at Harrods was the best. He didn't mention anything about the rep Sub... he helped me trying on several 15k watches and in his enthousiasme even some limited edition Frack Muller's of around 25k Last time i was at Harrods i was wearing my Ingenieur... we talked about watches, i looked at the Ingenieur chrono and in the end he came up with the normal Ingenieur. I told him i already have that watch and point at my own at the counter and the guys says "oeps... i never look at a customer's watch". A day later i was offered a fairly good price for the rep Ingenieur at New Bond Street, which i of course declined. The real danger is not at the AD... the real danger for our community is when some people start showing reps on Timezone! I hope at AD's they know how good reps are and they do not accidently buy one for too much money! The community on timezone is where the danger is when a huge picture of a watch is shown and the flaws will be spotted. That's where the connections to the manufacterer are and where action against our community will be started...

Great gallery By-Tor! And i absolutely love that Todur snowflake!! What a beauty

Hey Chief... how's the new job? Hope you like it... cause we all spent way too much time away from home at work, so it better be good Question to all of you... would it be better to have the crystal of my IWC CD AR coated? It already has an AR coat... double sided... but it has a strong blue hue... is this correct???
-
Good to hear the people at the AD didn't see that your CD isn't genuine... i had mine on my wrist last time as well and here they also didn't see. I do have some doubts about the immense AR blue hue the crystal has... i have never seen the genuine so i don't know if the gen also has this blue AR hue... Somebody has an idea about this AR hue on the gen??? PS. i wouldn't mind more pictures of Ola showing your watch (or leave the watches out)
-
I'd love to know if they made it possible to get a 'higher crown'... that would be the most important thing to me. The crown of the rep digs into your wrist all the time and that's quite anoying! The dial and case thickness looks good...

Yes... that's the best vintage Heuer website! Loads of information on the beautiful Autavia over there
-
This afternoon i went to the AD to take a look at what MM GMT's are possible to order from them. The white dial with black subdials is indeed a limited edition. This limited edition was from 2005 and came with closed caseback, with blue minute and hour hands and with TACHYMETRE... no tachometre! The rep of this model is all wrong... yet very beautiful. The all white and all black models are available from the AD exactly like they are replicated.

Seems like the one Rob re-lumed is better than the factory IWC lume
-
Very nice collection!! Congrats with such beauties... and that in only one year

I prefer the first real dive watch... but there seems a lot of debate about who was the first. - Rolex single red Submariner - Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Since i don't and don't care... cause i like them both
