If you see Kay replied to lanikai's topic in General Discussion
I'm in Thanks to all that have made this hobby all great!! -
If it is just the sticker and not the metal marker, then all you need is a bit of glue stick on the back applied with a toothpick and press it on. Happened to mine as well.

hahhh hahhh touche!!!

all these rep AKs are too big, the gen is 34mm.

Correct HE valve placement on new Seamaster Pro?
If you see Kay replied to fitmic's topic in The Omega Area
Well, the other reps have pretty good He valve placements (except for the two that i singled out already) -

this one needs a better front on view. The location of the He valve is quite deceiving as the rotating bezel has not been lined up at 12:00. but from what I can see, it does look promising. -

@bosk: the pic you show, are they reps? because if they are all have pretty good He valves, except for the far right and the bottom right watch. -

It may be the correct location, but it all He valves on all SMP's are off including WBK's. The correct He valve is slanted and is tilted upwards. It should line up, when projecting a line to the centre of the dial, torwards the OMEGA sign. The ultimate PO or the 4th/5th gen PO however, is correct. -
also, don't be surprised that your credit card gets hijacked too.
-
yup, those are my fav. Rollies as well. Just keep in mind that the gen AK's are 34mm whereas most reps of them are much bigger. The closest one I saw was a rep stating it was 35mm, but I think that should actually be 36mm, and was just a measurement error while making up the description.
-
hehhh hehhh, I guess you are right. Some members are students here, so income can be tight. Some are still looking for work and need to impress at the interview.. I get it now. But most can afford a budget noob watch, like a Reg PO. Some people have iphones on data plans that cost more than a watch!
-
when the watch does nothing for me anymore, it's time to let it go. When I decide to upgrade to the ultimate version or the ETA version, I let go of the noob version. I've had one buyer's remorse sale. I've almost sold two of my other watches, but held back due to a fondness of them. As for raising funds..... NEVER> I say you should always have enough to buy the watch outright without having to sell one. IMHO, that's just an excuse. This isn't a house you're buying, its a cheap watch!!!!
-
yeah, that looks quite fantasy to me. Not a very good one too.
-
ahhhh Taipei. been there many times already. Great place!!!! welcome aboard
-
the medium size should actually be 38mm. That is the one I am searching for too. the XL size (41/42mm) just looks a bit bulky for me. .
-
Welcome. Formosa?? Haven't heard Taiwan being called that in a long time. Whereabouts are from in Taiwan??
-
yes, you can definitely hear the difference and see the difference in beat over at 21,6 and a 28,8 movement. also, if you have a camera, set the exposure to 1 second. You should be able to "see" the ticks.

shipping with tracking from Canada to UK costs $56, whereas without tracking costs $7. That's probably why the seller didn't want to ship outside Canada/Conus I sold to a member in UK (I'm from Canada) and decided to go for no tracking, since with tracking was almost the cost of the watch itself. . Well, the package never arrived.... Even though the terms of sale was explicit that buyer assumes all risks, I ended up returning half the money on the watch. I eventualy was out of pocket about $80US from the when I bought it from the dealer to the postage and the refund. I don't think I will ever sell outside Canada/Conus anymore.

How long can you stare at another man's watch?
If you see Kay replied to wisconsin1's topic in General Discussion
I've seen more reps on wrists than gens. Even with cheap knockoffs. I've seen only a few gens so far that I know of. Two wearers of gen quartz SMP's. Also a vintage AirKing and a vintage Explorer. The noob Subs are so tacky now, whenever I see one, I just roll my eyes. Just recently I spotted a white dial Explorer GMT. Pretty sure (90%) that it was a rep. At least he has taste. I spotted a SMP on a fellow and pleasantly commented on his watch. I said "Nice watch!" His first words out of his mouth: "It's real!" WTF man! I didn't ask if it was real or not, I then proceeded to show him my Pam and the next thing he said was: "Wanna trade?" Again WTF man? I blew him off after that... -
I didn't tell anyone about my watches when I bought the first few and kept them all in the sock drawer. They only got noticed when I wore it out in the open and all I got was a roll of the eyes. Mid life crisis?? on watches? hardly. I got this as a mid life crisis: . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .. And that's my SECOND bike.

Where do I buy a Bell & Ross lug screw?
If you see Kay replied to eunomians's topic in General Discussion
yeah??? asking is one thing, actually getting them is another. You can ask all you want, but no dealer has them or is willing to get them for you. at least that was my experience. how do i know? I've asked about 10 dealers, only about 5 or 6 replied. All said no can do. I ended up making my own. check out my tutorial in RG. -
still trying to get a contact for the Zigmeister....
-
yeah, just when i needed to access my pm's too.

Well, the stock lume on it was pretty bad to begin with. Just half an hour ago I put the watch under a flourescent light for about 20 seconds and shut out the light and in a darkened room, the lume glowed just as bright. The half life of the stock lume is probably around 10 mins. or so. I wasn't expecting huge lume on this model anyways. I figure it the stock lume on a watch is pretty good to begin with, the crayola felt marker wouldn't make any appreciable difference. The only thing with this method is that you can't really do the dial. I tried using the felt marker over the dial as well; it just have it a shiny glossy wet look. So I just washed it off and did the lume markers and the minute markers and the lettering as well. Oh yeah, the hands too.

Here is my attempt at the aged look. very easy to do, in fact so stupidly easy. I used a washable Crayola childrens dark brown felt marker and just coloured in the markers. Used a Q-tip to smooth it out to the right patina-like hue. Best of all, it is washable in case you don't like the first try.
