pbdad (a member at RG) made this limited edition of 10 watches. I think they are sold out.
-
I received this from pbdad a few days ago and even if my heart beats mainly for Vintage Watches this piece is really something. Excelent ecexution in my eyes: I can't wait to see his Vintage approach to the DeepSea, the Abyss is next in line ...

This week starts with my new Limited Edition The Baron (made by pbdad):

This one for the last few days: 6152-1

Yes the problem was that I admitted it was counterfeit. But then I didn't want to pay the import tax on watch the estimated at 45,000 Euros either. Well I am over it by now, I just feel bad for my friend who is now just getting an empty wooden box ...

Because they are well informed. I flew into Nice yesterday (on the last non-cancelled flight) and despite delay made the connection in Rome, but my luggage didn't. When I received the call in the evening that my luggage had arrived I went to the airport where two customs officers where already awaiting me. In one of the bags I had Panerai Slytech 5218-205A which I had bought for a friend from a member at RWG. The customs officers first asked me if I had an invoice for the watch which I didn't. When they told we that they would have to charge me import tax on the watch and asked how much I paid for it I answered:"$320". "So it's fake?" they asked to which I could only answer "yes" Then they said that they had to confiscate the watch and destroy it and that I would have to pay a fine up to twice the amount of the real watch which they - after a quick online check - estimated at 45000 Euros. In the end they "only" charged me 100 Euros, but after seeing the look on the woman's face I was pretty sure that she would "destroy" the watch by mounting it on her or her husband's wrist .... A nice $500 loss for the evening .... But I guess in the end I got lucky. If they would have checked my carry-on luggage earlier that day they would have seen this: ..and I would probably send this post from French prison So be careful next time you travel there (I really didn't know).... They never even asked about the PAM 239 I was wearing ...

Today and I would say a few more days:

Looks good, those Nylons work surprisingly well on the 3646 case: If you ever want to change: here is a good solution for fixed lug (invisible rivet strap): http://i753.photobucket.com/albums/xx173/postrrboy/Picture031-3.jpg http://i753.photobucket.com/albums/xx173/postrrboy/Picture025-2.jpg taken from postrrboy's post on RG

My 6154 "Little Egi" project..a work in progress
donerix replied to eddog's topic in The Panerai Area
I heard of some "Russian" versions out there. I have a 4-Liner that looked very similar when I got it. But now that U read it again and saw that it has a solid snap-on caseback I would say it's a Silix case (not sure about the area around the crown though, maybe it was modded) .... I really like the blasted look... -
All I really did was to toast it and give a rather sloppy matt spray ... Here some - hopefully - better pics in daylight: And one I took with flash (by mistake), but I kind of like it:
-
The hands were a bit tricky: had to use the center part of the original minute hand as a sleeve to make it fit. That compromised a bit the alinement with the dial. Maybe I can bend them down a bit ....
-
Just got this back from my watchsmith after final assembly: ROLEX Ref. 6154 The specs: Case: Silix (re-shaped) Movement: Molinja 3601 with NW bridge work (special Thanks to Gordon) modified NW movement ring Dial: DSN (aged and toasted) Hands: Puretime (took them from a case I used for another project) Crown: Silix (re-shaped and aged) Caseback: Temporary one for now (will have a sterile one engraved with Rolex-Oyster-Precision) Strap: Prototype of new Vintage Series "NAVALE" Better pics tomorrow morning with natural light

Just got this TODAY from my AD and had to put it on immediately: Sorry for the crappy Ipad pic

I read this and immediately got inspired for a new project: To be completed soon ....

-
With new/old shoes: Egiziano
-
70% sold out ...

I had scored several very promising vintage leather pieces last months : Here is what they look like now: These are the first prototypes of several Limited Edition Series straps I will be offering soon (the number of straps for each series is limited due to the amount of available material): A) "ASSALTO" Limited Edition of 5 straps: Made from a vintage and well used boxing speed bag "ATTACCO" Limited Edition of 8 straps: Made from a vintage doctor's bag C) "NERO-SCURO" Limited Edition of 5 straps: Made from another vintage boxing speed bag and my first black vintage strap D) "TENENTE" Limited Edition of 8 straps Made from a vintage piece of luggage E) "MAGGIORE" Limited Edition of 6 straps Made from vintage saddlebags I hope you like them:

I don't think so. You would have to drill out the lug hole at lot first (a lot), but if you take off the nipple at the end (which I am sure was your idea) they will look too short. VDB has made some that look awesome but I don't know how they did it ... The quest continues ....
-
But isn't one side thicker than the other? I am still looking for a solution to make both ends thick - any suggestions?
-
I scored after a months-long hunting and shopping spree and I just picked up my collected mail containing the results: New straps will be shown soon: My favorite: Vintage boxing bags: And several vintage luggage pieces:
-
At last I decided to make a leather strap for it after all (with invisible rivets): So I could see the movement better: And it wears quite well:
-
Glad they got there safe
