I sourced a VR3135 balance complete from eBay and it's working great! It has the same purple spring as the one I removed. $20 solution. The balance staff is the first part I encountered that doesn't fit with a Rolex part.
Agreed! I've used Superior Rolex parts for years without issue. Same thing for Seiko forums. If it's not Gen Seiko your watch is not gen unless it has Seiko parts. Good luck telling the difference since no one can tell when they open the watch to service.
I've got a 3135 out of a NOOB Sub with a broken staff. I've tried staffs for a Rolex 3135 and an ETA. Neither fit.
Is there a source for parts or a new movement?
I use Never Dull wading. It's been around for decades and works well on all finishes. Here's my KW with just a light rub.
My photos are terrible but it rubs a light, nice patina.
One thing to remember about bronze -- as you wear it the case will absorb skin oils and moisture and gradually get a greenish patina.
I like it.

Has anybody tried to contact him?
I built two 6263's with his case dial and hands with V72's and the correct bridges. He also had a killer 1680 case with correct spelling & sn.

Well no clerks calked me out on it in Las Vegas when I was in three watch stores. I've got a gem tank that's 40 years old and they look the same.

Nope. I've been running the Asian and just took it off after two weeks on the road. 20 seconds fast. Better than my gen PAM. Carefully compare all the details against gen. The last two shots are gen.
