  1. without starting a small forum flame thread.. I don't understand your point Z ???? No.. I do not speak the "Queens English".. I don't even speak "American English" as well as other here.. born and raised in Hawaii we have our own brand.. but if you would kindly clarify, without abuse... your point, I would be happy to oblige.. believe it or not we are all trying to HELP here.. if something is lost in the translation and I have offended .. believe me it was not meant to be.. if can.. can.. if no can .. no can... that is how I would put it to someone raised in Hawaii.. A~C Lani
  2. Pix If there were anything that any of us "could do" to make this "right" you know we would not hesitate.. Rocketeer is after all a moder that is endorsed not by RWG but another forum.. I do not believe there is any "leverage" anyone here can put on him,.. and I am just assuming that anything posted on his "Home" forum would be compromised by the powers that be there. By being allowed the opportunity to post this and discuss this issue here .. I believe this is about all we as a group can do.. I am also assuming rocket has been given a heads up to reply here .. if not then he should be.. and I would like to say to you Pix.. DBR is a man of Honour also.. I believe that in his Profession.. which is largely "Science" (to keep the terminology simple) DBR is on a different "Plain" of communication from you and I. what I need 100 words to express DBR can do with 10 words.. as his profession and communicating with others in his Profession is more "Academia" .. so his frustration is based on the fact that he is on a very different 'Plain" than we laymen. so don't take it personal. DBR took time awhile ago to shoot me some pics of stem and movement removal.. know this is not even classed as Minor surgery.. but to me looked like it
  3. We all would like to see this resolved for the members well being Rooster.. with that being said... I "decided" to "learn" crystal removal and install.. as I could not see the transition time and logistics back and fourth. and back again ... furthermore... I could not expect the only modder I use to spend time with dozens of watches just for what seemed like a simple enough task (to learn myself) that would be like asking a mechanic to take in jobs and loose money doing them. (since time is $$) the ONE thing I will say about this thread... PIX leading it .... This is what can come out of "discussion" in a mature format.. rather than trash talking and bashing..... and for that I thank you >.... PIX and all that have made this thread at least helpful to the NOOBS and brought to light the issues again.. A~C Lani
  4. I was thinking not only Deja Vu.. but Deja MOO.. same ol Bull Crap... in the Past after ZM posts these warnings.. there have been those who cry out ... saying ZM is doing this to propogate his own end.. yet the warnings come AFTER the "collision" and scene of the accident occur.. I HOPE THAT ALL HERE CAN TAKE THIS AS GOSPEL !!! INSANITY IS DEFINED AS DOING THE SAME THING EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS !! Are we learning???.. other forums bash ZM as wanting a monopoly .. when all he is trying to do is forewarn US ALL.. the ONE Consistant you can take to the bank.. RWG may not be all the colour and dazzle of other forums... but one thing you can COUNT ON.. RWG is about knowledge gained from experience and expertise... we are a "not for profit" forum.. but you have more knowledge here than you could ever use.. the question is... When will YOU use it ?? that will be up to you.. A~C Lani
  5. I can only speak for myself .. but I am not 'defending' Rocketeer ... he is not a service provider on "this" forum" .. I am however through dozens of ar'd crystals commenting through experience "chiefs" AR capabilities .. It has been noted time and again.. that modders other than the "one" that is the foundation of RWG have proven to be less than reliable.. now "vac" has been addd to the RWG service providers list..under endorsement Other than ZM and Vac (edit to ammend) only ZM and Vac are RWG endorsed Modders...... no one here has defended the modder whom holds your watches... on the contrary it has been stated time and again that ... the modder in question makes his home on another forum. what I and other members have been trying to steer towards is the need to cut out third party liability ... I believe each and everyone of you .... this is not a "NEW" issue .. rather one that has been done once to often... so for me it's about the "solution" so this dosen't happen anymore ... has anyone tried to get Rocket to respond on another forum.. excuse my naiivete. but would that cause pcoblems for anyones account on another forum ?? A~C Lani
  6. Going with IWC's for Tuesday ~
  7. today .. never mind what you read in the world reports .. I always laugh when the temputure reported is taken at the aiport.. next to the reef runway.. no buildings no concrete.. nice ocean breeze.. it is 106 to 110 depending on what parking lot or beach your at.. in the city btw.. I like to wear a 18mm G10 strap on this piece.. 2mm smaller than the lug size.. it really brings out the case and dial.. this and my snowflake have been taking turns during a 24 hour cycle.. common SIXX.. let's see some pics ma man !! A~C Lani
  8. Agree with DBR 100 !!.. you could get the crystal press for less than it would take to pay someone to prop the crystal out then reinstall it.. and my empathy to your genuine issue.. I hope it's resoved to your liking ! all the problems stem form someone having gone over his head with jobs I think. I would equate someone with an auto shop whom takes in 50 cars to change tires.. and coming in to work for 1 to 2 hours a day.. and working by himself with other responsibilities that may take precedant. needless to say someday's he may not feel like working. I mean realistically 30 watches .. yikes !! think of what would happen if your tired,.. and start mislabelling which watch belongs to whom.. let alone you would have to have a very organized set up (like chiefs) to put the correct crystals with the correct watches.. upon return I'm repeating myself .. but this needs to be taken as the "final" lesson learned .. there comes a time when you have to take ownership for your actions.. no one twisted your arm to send the watches to Rocket, I say this after learning myself the hard way.. .. and only I was to balme in the end. and again I need remind everyone of the hobby we are all in. the local watchsmith is not a normal option as if you are taking in a genuine piece. but in a postive note.. it is because of the freedom of expression that RWG holds as a "principle" that we can post threads like this here, without it being deleted as fast as they are posted.. so props to the Admin Team for that privelege !! I am sure all the watches will be returned .. now that all has come to light. Best we get busy with a tutorial of how to get the crystals out to chief without a third party's involvement.. Cause I will say this :... If "I" can do it .. anyone here can.. !! .. like DBR states.. it's rather simple.. but IMO can be a scary "thought" A~C Lani
  9. I felt your vibe BT.. got up to post this .. HBB Tuiga A~C Lani
  10. Chief dosen't need endorsing.. but for those of you who have not seen first hand his AR coat.. this was a rep xtal .. Chief removed the rep AR coat before it went to his coater.. let the images speak.. in full sunlight and the worst reflective glare.. afternoon sun through a window sill. the green on the lume is because this is a genuine dial and the sunlight has the lume charged to the max. it has nothing to do with the coat.. you see it true.. due to the invisible xtal. this is the harshest glare you could want.. look at the reflection off the hands.. the lightly Plume hue is the most you will ever get off a Chief coated xtal. I do not like to give out how many watches I procured over the last few years.. not my style.. but I will say that almost every valued rep that I have that is supposed to have AR.. has been recoated by chief and not ONE.. has ever come back discloured.. he would not let it leave back to the owner.!! that is the Pride he takes in his coating. as a side I hope you all get your issues resolved as much for the money as for the love of your watches.. that may mean more than just dollars and cents.. but to have an enormous amount of watches for this service go to one person ... this may need futher looking into.. We have been warned time and again about modders by our own top Horologist... I trust everyone that is designated as providing a service on RWG ... maybe it's time to take a look.. because this is not an RWG issue.. RWG would not let this happen.. jus ma .02 A~C Lani
  11. sorry guy's, but to get the big picture clear... did this originate on RWG ( rocketeer??) .. and if not where ???
  12. It would be interesting to know how many watches are involved. ? 10.. 20 .. 30 ??? Agree 100 a simple form email would take a minute and communication rather than excuses would be much appreciated I'm sure,. ahhh sheesh this looks like deja vu all over again.. Sorry for your trouble Pix.. but props for taking the initialtive to bring it to light !! A~C Lani
  13. I'm sorry for your problems with unacceptable business practices Pix.... since being here I have myself lost more money than I care to. with K222. an entire batch of Lello date wheels ... and another modder in NYC (not Vac) ... And the same MO.. no replies to emails .. however I cannot ask The Admin team to step in since they did not endorse nor are they accepting any monetary percentage of the profits from anyone .. member or modder. It is very frustrating ..and I had to take it as a expensive learning experience.. a couple of watches were brutalized for date wheel swaps.. and the modder still has not gotten back to me so I figure after more than a year.. he just chooses to ignore me. Zig has warned us.. so i am not even thinking of sending the screw ups to ZM. I caulk it up as a loss. I myself feel that anytime I send my replication for modding from someone other than ZM.. I am rolling the dice.. since ZM has endorsed Vac.. and I have never read any negatives about his craftsmanship... I believe the only modder other than ZM would be Vac.. that anyone should even think of using. With all that said.. members need to up their game.. and learn how to remove and reinsert crystals if they are to be successful in installing Chiefs AR... and probably find a proxy in Conus to handle the xtal for the ar coating. I feel for you Pic.. good luck and hopefully everything works out wel R
  14. End of the year 2009.. maybe.
  15. Since all of us are on the same page .. it must be how RWG ROLLS...!! SUPPORT~
  16. .. Smooth as glass Ubi !! Nice combo ! Agree 100 the heavier timepieces do well on the G10's and Zulus... it really gets rid of any top heaviness. this is my TP with 5 ring Zulu it is oversized 1mm larger at the lugs but it fits fine.. it just gives it a little more beef..hehe I think I'm gonna source a Zulu PVD with red stripe for my Blacksteel..
  17. If you don't like the metal keepers .. then the Zulu 3 ring is for you.. I use the Zulu on the DSSD simply for the balance since the Zulu is thicker nylon than the G10 A~C Lani
  18. Well B.. there is no way around getting the buckles to "drop" to the bottom.. which is the way we in the US are used to wearing timepieces.. but like the German Pilots and say... the genuine Panerai straps.. it seems more common sense not to have the buckle ride on the bottom of the wrist..and I actually have grown to like this style. but as far as the G-10 goes.. I like the EU style where the buckles are visible to the lugs. .. but it used to drive me nutz to have the tongue flapping around and loose.. I see a lot of members with the tongue end of the strap flapping.. arrrgghhhh I have never seen a pic with the proper way to wear one of these so I just improvised and tucked the tongue into the same keeper that I pull it through at first.. the Bond Strap looks messy.. the black G-10 on the 9411 is the way I like to wear it.. I really like the look of the metal keepers right outside the lugs.. it's very meaty and macho.. .. I think it lends character to the strap and watch case.. if you don't like it .. I would suggest the "Zulu" 3 ring.. that way you can manipulate the metal rings to drop on the underside of your srist.. but then .. IMO it makes the strap look just very "nylon".. you gotta go with Maratac ... bestest.. thick nylon good ss. Hope that helps.. it's a much cleaner look to fold the tongue back into the keeper.... maybe that has been the problem for ya.. A~C Lani
  19. hehe.. I was just thinking about the proper way to wear G-10's ..as until recently i didn't like them.. I don't know if I'm doing it correctly but I'll take and psot a pic give me 20 min. A~C Lani
  20. Congrats B16.. a great example of what RWG exemplifies.. unconditional support ! May all your hard work earning your dgree bring you everything that life has that is good !! A~C Lani
  21. Oh.. Stop it some More Jus WOW.. really belongs on a wristi !! A~C L
  22. sheesh .. it can double as a Wall Clock when ya get home E ... 60mm Wow.. but she is a beaut !! A~C Lani
  23. Gorgeous Rolli.. great to see your awesome images back on the boards !! A~C Lani
  24. I look forward to that Day !
  25. As far as I know the 3719 will not fit on the CD .. when the CD 06 first came out as a replication the rubber strap was the best rubber strap out at the time, until then the divers strap was sorely lacking in quality.... the genuine comes in the divers strap and does not I believe offer the SS bracelet.. The Slevin is more verstile as far as being worn as a dressier piece and also goes well casually with the ss or rubber strap..I have a genuine divers for the slevin .. and to tell you the truth the replication side by side with the genuine ... you would have a very hard time telling the difference. I think the CD goes best with the rubber strap.. so you have the best of both worlds.. in the CD and the 3719 all you need to pull the pins out of the bracelet and the lugs is a toothpick.. alignment with the rubber strap is the challenge when reattaching the strap.. so the pin slides in.. you need to depress the button again to have the pin pass through.
