unfortunately or fortunately..... some things need to be said
-
If you want a temporary fix until you get what you want.. get some metal polish ie. mag rim polish ... use this with a soft rag .. (undershirt etc) rub hard and freely ... it will remove the sratch ...

welcome back Ziggy !!!!!!! I got my 036 back ... cannot even tell it has been "re-lumed" .. with my limited ability I will try and gets pics ...Looking GREAT !!! thanks again, Lanikai

IMHO... bottom line is the "fact" that there is more traffic on this forum than "others" .. I for one "choose" not to ride on the "coat tail" of members who know the value of this forum. for the price of a "cup of coffee" ... or a 1000 excuses "why not to" .. I speak only for myself .... i spend 10 to 15 $ every morning for breakfast.. sometimes more... and if I cannot donate at least this much monthly for a place that I spend so much time on and find a wealth of information and support .. then I had better re-evaluate my priorities ... how much do you spend in a bar or pub to get "happy" .... PROBABLY throwing money around after a few ??? LOL ... thank you again to Ry for stepping it up and taking the heat for what should be said ..and to members like Kruzer who have anchored this forum so people like you and I can have a place like this ..... and to those who think "THIS" is strong arming ... HHAAAAA ... if you think this is strong arming ... you have no clue... our "fingers" are not that buffed. LOL Lanikai

like sssurfer... the star called the "Hokulea" the ancients used this to navagate.. or my cell phone
-
WOW... I THINK BY 2008 I will get my IWC divers done by the Master Horologist ... all good things are worth waiting for... where did the day date wheel come from ????
-
thanx Ry ... that really would be a good visual.. and you only had the good of RWG and all it's members in mind.... someone had to step up to the plate .... your intentions were "all good" .. thank you again .. from one grateful "member" Lani
-
I would agree with this statement whole heartedly... we really don't know all the circumstances behind every member ..and although the intentions are to help RWG ... i really see no reason to, for lack of a better word... belittle anyone... although more members should 'help' out .. i think the point has been made.. for myself I will contributre monthly .. and whatever anyone else decides to do is up to their "mind set" @ admin..... could we get a pic of a thermometer to show us how far we are away from being OK next month ... thanks for being here RWG Lanikai

:don't want to find out

WOW... is that all.. I just tried to look for an area where upgrade or donations to "support" RWG is listed .. and i must say that what I got was a lot of posts "about" upgrading.... I registered in 06 and then tried to upgrade when i started posting and asking questions... the upgrade was constantly down... don't get me wrong I am not trying to make excuses... I don't know if it would be ethical in the view of RWG.. but i believe the forum needs to have a message more visible to everyone that looks at the navigation page (for lack of my computer education) If it would help to offer differing donations (this may already be in place) excuse me if my lack of information is repeating an existing theme... members should be able to "see" VIP or "RWG supporter" on the top of the first page.. maybe RWG supporter could mean donations of 5.00 to 10.00 ... again this is just a thought.... even 5.00 usd from 500 "active" members will help out and keep the forum healthy.. I am not trying to open up another debate on the pros and cons of this .. again just a thought to stay positive.. Lanikai

Modding reommendations and questions.....
lanikai replied to Deacon's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
All the watches I have purchased from Joushua and Andrew are water resistant... shower, swimming etc. ok... get a wachsmith to do the bezel .. or ziggy.. he's still on summer vac. but try to pm him.. he's the best ... better than most retail watch smiths around.. very fair pricing -
or maybe they are just indesisive... i'm not like that ... am I ???
-
you are right on that count R.....just thinking of the support i've gotten and the mistakes that i could have made if not for the members of this forum.. so if the forum as a whole need help.. I will glady give with aloha .... (the breath of life) have a good night see you tomorrow Lani

I would just like to know if the link on this post can be used indefinately ??

It's OK Ken ... I saved the link... easier for me that way... thanks Lani

thank you for the opportunity to help a place that gives me so much support and enjoyment ....instead of making one donation i believe it best to do this monthly (for me) ... it's the least I or "we" should do for RWG ...... LIVE STRONG RWG.. we all wear you on our sleeve or I should say "wrist" MAHALO .... PS are you going to leave this donation link open ?... or can we just donate monthly without renewing VIP every month ?? Lanikai

how small a wrist could 45mm still look good on?
lanikai replied to FxrAndy's topic in The Panerai Area
All my friends who have only daughters were real "rascals" when we were younger... that's God's sense of humor.... their afraid they're daughters will meet someone like them in high school ...LOL I'm sure not your case ... LIVE STRONG AND TAKE CARE OF HER WELL THANKYOU.. for your sharing with us.. Lanikai -
just got mine in today from Johua ... pics to follow later this week .. I am not concerned so much with saving a few dollars now day's as i am more concerned about service after the purchase and getting a quality watch ... both these things I can count on with Joshua... but you will have to decide on your own who you feel most comfortable with I was lured away for a while with better 'deals' and when the watch arrived defective was left with a worthless watch and no choices... I learned from my mistakes ... check out the other rep sites for reviews of the dealers also..
-
this is a point in a lot of peoples minds for sure... Ask yourself this.. there are 4 dealers with direct ties to the makers ... they buy wholesale other dealers have to travel through possibly more than one middle man .. and then sell for less to draft sales away from the primary dealers .. I would imagine that most of the dealers without ties to the makers don't even know where or who the makers are... if you have any kind of "experiences in business and you had to go through a "middle man" you can appreciate the fact that you wish you could go directly to the source, if you could find out just who the "source" is ... therefore cutting your expenses.. so who's pulling the strings here ?? why do certain dealers get talked about as giving the most fair and honest deal at the "best' price ?? who's lying to who ?? as Admin. already pointed out J & A offered a refund or a exchange of some kind.. I am not quoting them verbatum.. .. so why is that not added to the mix ?? So yes, the question is out on the table... WHO will really benefit from this crusade and who is really manipulating who here ... do I buy my watches from joshua... Yes... does he give me deals ... NO .. I want good quality and good service.. do I get this .. Yes.. I do post questions on the boards so people with experience .. good or bad can influence my decisions... that's what we are here for. I purchased the IWC cousteau diver and Tag Aquaracer because of 2 member reviews and their pics..a direct result of this forum i do not buy just because the write up is good on the dealers web site.. after all "all " dealers are after sales ... but Joshua has told me before to stay away from certain watches.... not because of the price but he knows my expectations.. In quoting others..."vote with your wallet" .. there is nothing anyone can say or point out.. not even all the logical psycho babble in the world will affect this thread......because people will believe what and whom they want ... so the choice is YOURS to make so indeed "who will benefit the most from this bashing" As far as best sub.... for me action speak louder than words.. got a submariner from johua early 06 ... "waterproofed' .. i mainly free dive now .. not deep 35 to 50 ft. a little over 16 meters... my sub is still working fine ... although i don't think you can call any watch waterproff... water resistant is more the correct term i believe.

Good evening Tor, GMT -5 here .... Looks great !!!! thank you for the fantastic review.. because of it ... I ordered the Aquaracer today... it looks better when pics from members are posted.... Sold !! Thanks again Lanikai

anyone have experience with the Ingenieur sweep second vs. the chrono model? the chrono is the 7750.. this is the only factor that is holding me back from the chrono model. ... and I'm undecided .. the simplicity of the sweep second hand model is alluring some makers are great at putting the 7750 together and some fail miserably .. hands on experience ?? thank you lanikai

my wrist size varies from your own to a little larger.. depending on what part of the week ...in the toscana.. Mario Paci and GeF straps I tke a 125/80... this goes to the 3rd hole ( supposedly proper fit) and in the middle of the week ( due to workouts) it will go to the 4th hole.. the more girth on the strap the smaller it will wear so if you like your strap to be on the 1st or 2nd hole then figure 5mm for every hole size .. ... so with every increase or decrease of 5mm you will gain or loose one hole.. and actually it is not s stupid question... if you don't know you will have wasted your money unless you are lucky at guessing... which dosen't happen often ... don't ask me how I know ....LOL lani
