I am ashamed of my photo skills, after viewing all of the beautiful images in this thread. But.... I love these two watches, and the variations in models and straps that Panerai offers. Thanks for all the great photos.

How Far Have We Come In Terms Of Replica Quality...
jeff g replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
Great posts as usual Zig. I too bought the first Pam's EL began to offer in 2004. I still wear my 112 a lot, regardless of the errors in the movement. It is a beautiful rep. In the last two years the rep industry has made leaps and bounds in fabrication. I am not so much interested in the movements in these watches, as much as I am concerned about quality of the dials, cases, bracelets etc. (Although I realize how important a well made movement is). This years crops of new models is as good as it has ever been. IWC, TAG, Omega, have all been the best quality imaginable for the price. 250.00 - 300.00 for watches that 2 years ago were 400.00 - 500.00. We are living in the 'Golden Age' right now. With the expertise of guys like The Zigmeister and a few others, in the rep world, it may in fact be the 'Platinum Age'. -
With both boards wishing you happy's you should be full by now. All the best.

Another Great review. This same watch was the last purchase I made for my wife. Like your girl, mine loved the watch as well. Prior to this TAG model she had a Ladies yachtmaster in SS, and she likes the feel of the TAG better. She also wears a Ladies Tank, and Ladies Constellation. Of the ones mentioned, she likes the TT Connie the best. Congrats.

EXCELLENT Review. Thanks. I have to agree with you on almost all your points concerning the difference between the SMP and the Chrono. I too like the slimness of the non chrono cases. Of all the SS sport watches I own, like many others, the SMP is my favorite 'daily beater' without a doubt. I own 3 Omega models currently. I did not like the PO. I look forward to another review from you in the future. Negative attributes of a watch, are equally as important as the positive.

Recently i got the ladies tag link for my wife. She likes it. The size is a pretty standard 25mm. I would not say it is a 'big' watch though. Actually a 40mm Pam would be a nice size to me for 'big' ladies. The photos of the gal wearing the Navitimer which is 47mm, look really cool, if the bracelet can be sized small enough. Most rollis are in the 38mm range.

Perfect copy of a Gen for 250.00....not likely. But a perfect replica - definitely. The Noobmariner, the new TAG Link, some of the newer IWC's, all are pretty perfect as far as I am concerned.

I sort of read this thread as, 'which is the best watch for the price?' For me it is these three. All three have asian movements. All are 2 to 3 years old. I wear the SMP alot. All three run great. SMP - 100.00 - Adam 007 - 100.00 - Adam Speedy - 95.00(?) - ttk For 3 beautiful watches (Auto) 295.00??????? How can you beat that??

The only reason I even buy reps, is so that I can own a lot of different watches that I can change up all the time depending on my mood or situation. I always seem to go back to my SMP, but recently I have been wearing the TAG Chrono alot, and the perfect sub a lot, and my 112 alot, and on and on. The longest that one particualr watch stays on is maybe 5 or 6 days, then...what's next?

Wow..an Oyster Rerpetual...don't see those everyday.

Love to show some pics...maybe later. Currently riding - Original Ibis Ti Mojo hardtail on the trails, and Specialized on the road. The road has taken over my life this past couple of years.

IMHO there is no contest here. I own both of these watches. The new TAG Link Chronos are a far better rep than any generation of the PO. Omega is my favorite rep. I own 4 different models. The PO is the worst of the 4 by far. IMO it has a really crappy grade steel case and the wrong bracelet. The TAG on the other hand to me is one of the better reps made (Ever). Look at the photo of Relaxman's TAG. Is there a nicer SS sport watch out there? The dial is PERFECT and beautiful as well. The bracelet is PERFECT. Do not worry about the new 7750. It works great. If you were to purchase an Omega - than get the new SMP chrono - a MUCH better piece than the PO. FWIW

Review of Rolex 16610 Submariner "Noobmariner"
jeff g replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
Another great review. I got my Perfect Sub with the asian movement from Trusty for 107.00 I agree with all comments concerning the dial and bracelet being spot on. The reason I bought the asian movement was to check out the watch before making a decision to buy eta. I have been very happy with this 100.00 special. Way better than the older models that have been offered for the last few years. I have spent over 800.00 on two 'Modded' models, and this 100.00 beauty kicks thier ass. So far only problem with the asian has been that the date wheel quit working. Now I must wind the hands manually to turn the date. Oh well. Other than that this 'Noobmariner' could be the best deal out there. Now the answer to THE question is: EL - Joshua - Trusty - etc. etc. -
I got the two tone Connie for my wife as well. She likes it a lot. The pins in the links are a problem. I have had to replace two. Be careful. For a 100.00 it is a nice ladies rep.

Whats The Most Accurate Womens Watch On The Market?
jeff g replied to ajoesmith's topic in General Discussion
I have gotten my wife 5 or 6 reps over the years. The ones she prefers most of the 5 she currently wears are the Cartiers She too, has the Santos 2 tone, as well as a Tank SS. She also really likes the Omega Constellation. She doesn't like the quality or feel of the Ladies Yachtmaster. And her latest new rep, the Tag Ladies Link, is just ok. My feeling is that the quality on the bracelet of the constellation could be much better. But its a nice watch. For the money (value) the Cartier's are hard to beat. -
Ladies Cartier Tank - 3500.00 - For the wife

1. Cartier Tank Francias - Sept. 2004 2. Eddie Lee 3. Definitely - Runs like a top

SS Bezel - Black Dial - SS Band Seems like all your genuine pieces have been matched in looks and case and dial quality. I own all of the watches you show here, as well. And in looking at your collection of reps vs. gens, I think we really see how really good quality of the reps are these days. Would you agree? The SMP - 2006 TAG Links, and 'Perfect Subs', are pretty damn close to the quality (Looks) as the gen these days.

How Many Watches In Your Collection Rec. Wrist Time?
jeff g replied to ubiquitous's topic in General Discussion
I am down to about 14 or 15 reps. At one point I had 24. Finally started selling the ones I NEVER wore. I wear mostly my Omega SMP and 007. But recently I have been enjoying my new 'Perfect Sub' as well. Bought a new TAG Link Chrono. Nice watch. The Pam's mostly sit in the case. Long and short of it. I wear 7 or 8 of the 14 regularly. The dress watches sit in the box. But I would not sell them. -
Beautiful photos. Thanks

I am wearing my blackfaced SS Link chrono with brushed bezel model, pretty much daily since I got mine. One of the NICEST Reps available these days. A really nice dial, that is for sure. Wear it well.

Iwc Gst Chrono Is Here! A Few Quick Thoughts.
jeff g replied to crystalcranium's topic in The IWC Area
A very nice review. The personal touch. I have a few comments about the GST. Recently I have purchased the GST and the TAG Link Chrono. Your comments about the look and feel of the two watches was pretty much opposite of mine. I felt as though the GST sat up on my wrist 'like a hockey puck'. (A small one) A 40 mm x 14 mm case seemed to be out of proportion to me. The 7750 being the reason for the thickness of this rather small case. In comparison the TAG at 42 mm with a 14mm thick case seems to be much better balanced, and wears very well on the wrist, IMO. More similar to the feel of a SS Sub or Omega SMP. Although the look of the GST is more of a 'dress' look, I felt it was to thick to wear for daily use, while the TAG SS is more of an everyday beater kind of piece. Additionally, I feel like the dial of the TAG is easily as nice as the beautiful dial on the GST. My bet for rep of the year would include these two watches. But my vote goes for the TAG. -
My Little Collection With Panerai, Rolex And Omega!
jeff g replied to watchfreak2005's topic in My Collection
I would say that they are the nicest photos I have ever seen on this forum. Great technique. Some nice watches too.
