I agree that the packages are shaken in transit. However, ALL the automatics I have ever received before have never been running. Not only was this one running (with the incorrect time) but to have it have rolled the date over for six days I think is amazing. Who knows?, maybe it left China with the date coincedentially set at 26, but I doubt it. Nevertheless my point concerning these two specific movements is that they both seem to have a really long reserve. FWIW.

I have two Omega's that I have purchased from Andrew in the last few months. One is the SMP Pro (black dial), and more recently the GMT. Both are the cheapo Asian 21 movements. I have noticed often that after wearing the SMP, and putting it away in my watch case that 2 and 3 days later it is still running and keeping good (accurate) time just sitting in the box. A few days ago I received my latest Omega Asian 21... the GMT. According to the bill of lading, the watch was shipped on the 20th and I received in here in CONUS on the 26th. 6 full days in transit. When I opened the package, I was amazed to see the watch still running and the date in the date window was correct!!!! - the 26th. That is a first, for me. I can only assume that whichever Asian 21 movement these watches have in them is a pretty damn good one for a cheapo watch. I have more than a few 'ETA' movements that maybe run for 24 hours after removing them...if that. Anybody else have this same experience??

???? I ordered a piece from 'Trusty' 3 weeks ago. No tracking.. no shipping notice... no nothing. When I emailed him concerning the delay he emailed back and simply said he would let me know when it is shipped?????????????? Maybe Andrew is busy with other projects?

Photos of first rep purchase from Josh(Lange & Sohn)

Bump. Very beautiful. Not a bad choice for a 1st rep. The black dial version has always been on my list. Could be next. Wear it well. -
Both are beautiful watches. After seeing the comparison photos... whoever bought you rep...is one happy guy.

Wow. Speechless I am. Wow. What is next on your list?

I have been looking for this watch for a long time. I remember last year seeing a few wrist shots from one of our members, and I was hooked. Had to have one. SS Bezel - Silver Dial Searched high and low, even tried to get in touch with DW (Who evidently has the best case)...but to no avail. Finally found one. I am stoked. Hope these shots are ok...new camera. Enjoy.

Breitling Chronomat Evolution, History and Review
jeff g replied to chrgod's topic in The Breitling Area
Really great review. After reading this type of in depth review...it makes me want to buy it. Thanks. -
Me three, I learned a long long time ago in another galaxy not to look at tracking numbers. When I first started buying thru TRC, I remember getting anxious concerning delivery times, only to find out on a few occassions that the damn watch never even made out of Taiwan. Since then I just wait for it to show up. Of course 30 (+) days can get pretty old, but three or 4 years ago it seemed that 30(+) days was a short time to wait for an order from TTK. Oh, oh, did I say that?

The IWC Pilot Chrono is without a doubt Eddies personal project run of 100. We will see how long it takes other dealers to get it. I too, have gotten more comments on the looks of the watch on my wrist than ANY of my reps since the original 112 came down the pike. Up front and personal IMHO it is the nicest watch I own for good looks and feel on the wrist. With the nice alligator band it becomes elegant as well as 'Sporty'. Easy to read, and as close to the gen as anyone could ask, even with the misalignment of the day/date wheel. Are there any new owners that don't like this watch?

Waterproof reps? That is a new concept for me. Like EL always says: 'Good for 50 yard dash in the rain' Seiko makes good cheap waterproof watches.

I have two vintage Daytona's with the Seagull 'handwind' movement. Both have had zero problems. I too, like the fact that at 10mm thick they sit low and comfortable on the wrist, as opposed to the 7750's. The downside is the necessity of freezing the 6:00 sub dial...(If you care about it)

Here are(is) the site(s) that I found with a variety of really nice rubber straps. Evidently they are down for a few days, but nevertheless you can view some of thier selections. After doing an exhaustive search (hours), I think that they seem to have the best selection of rubber dive straps, at reasonable prices. www.watchworx.co.uk or: www.thestrapshop.co.uk. Good luck.
-
All's well...that ends well? Although I was one of the first five to receive my Pilot, I have had to ship it off to one of our 'watchsmiths' for a fix already. Hope the second batch that people have received doesn't have any 7750 problems 'out of the box'. I will wait for my diagnosis to determine what the problem with the movement in my watch was all about. Still all and all...a pretty perfect rep. May we all wear them well...... Especially Chad.

After looking at quite a few aftermarket strap sites for a rubber or kevlar strap for the Monster, (I did not like the standard Seiko divers strap) I did find one really nice site in the UK that had some really interesting variations of rubber and silicone divers. The paperwork is at my other computer station..but I will find it and post it asap. Most of the prices were in the neighborhood of 25.00USD
-
I agree with you. I put this watch on and can't believe it is a rep. Your photos are fabulous. Now people don't have to look at my fuzzy shots anymore. Wear it well.
-
DAMN...after seeing Pug's photos of the 'Black Monster'...I ordered it yesterday with the SS band. Thennnnn I found a couple of great sites selling aftermarket rubber and kevlar straps, and ordered two different rubber straps to fit the Monster. The prices on the net varied from seller to seller, but I was able to pick this guy up for under 160.00USD. I do own a couple of other seikos that don't get all that much wrist time, that are quartz...but the Monster is automatic. Looks like a great watch for the price. Now when I go diving I can leave the 024 at home and actually wear a watch in the ocean. I will post some terrible 'fuzzy' shots to compliment Pugs shots when I get it.

Even with these minor problems concerning the day date alignment, I too feel as though I can live with it, considering the overall looks and feel of the watch. Three or more years ago I paid over 400.00 for the original Pam 112 that Eddie was the first guy to sell, and close to 400.00 for the first Daylight (NO blue screws) that he sold as well. For my money, the Pilot Chrono is still a better deal as far as QC issues are concerned than either one of those watches. The price will probably eventually come down on this model, because although it is Eddies baby right now...other dealers will certainly want to get it. In the event that the day/date problem can be easily fixed with the same wheel that the GST utilizes, then that would be the way to go IMHO. That or maybe Eddie can get the problem resolved in his future sales of this same model by the current fabricator.

Forget the sub. For 400.00 bucks get one of Eddies IWC Pilot Chronos. A really nice watch. Check out a few of the photos in the IWC gallery. Trust me.

Yea, what he said. Best rep yet. I look at my 'Perfect Sub" - 40mm and say yea. I look at my SMP 300 pro - 42 mm, and I say yeaaaa. And then I look at my new IWX Pilot Chrono - 42 mm and I say...YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
