I know how you feel. My 6263 has become one of my favorite watches. Beautiful job...wear it well.
-
Here are my three vintage Rolli's. Red Sub Paul Newman 6263/5 I love them all...but the 6263/5 is the one that I wear most anymore. The Silver dial and black sub dials is so elegant. All classic and beautiful pieces.

At the wrist of pissing a lot of folks off...I have spent some time in Norway, and I always remember a joke that was told me a few years ago... What is the difference between the Norwegians and the Swedes? The swedes have good neighbors.

The 112 was the second rep I ever purchased. I will NEVER sell it. Got it from EL in 2004 (no blue screws). Beautiful strap collection. Wear them well.

I realize of course that there are many flaws with the watch I am showing here. It certainly is not the correct dimensions nor is it a DW case. However the silver dial and the black sub dials is exactly what I was looking for when I purchased this rep a few months back. IMHO this watch is a Classic piece, and I am glad to have it in my collection. I wish DW was a bit more accesible, so that I might have taken advantage of the pieces he seems to have available. Wear your DW 6263 well!!!

Looking for a watch that goes best with business suit :)

It has been awhile since I spent 300.00(+) for a rep. I agree that 400.00 seems like a lot, however it certainly depends on what you are getting for your money. 3 or 4 years ago when the first PAMs came down the pike I spent 400.00 a few times. Now those same models are available for 250.00(+). But so what? I got what I paid for THEN. The 3717 is as nice a watch that is currently available IMHO. If you like it ...buy it. The hundred and fifty bucks that you save by waiting a year or two is not worth the wait, as far as I am concerned.

The terrible day/dates in the new iwc super reps
jeff g replied to chad's topic in General Discussion
True..replica is just replica... In the case of the 3717 that I had 'serviced', the day/date wheel isssue was not even mentioned, but during servicing of the movement the wheels were aligned, and for the most part are perfectly straight now. I must admit that it does make a difference to have them straighter. However the 'mis' alignment did not bother me all that much. I was more concerned that the movement function properly. Asian 7750's suck. Having the movement serviced makes sense. The alignment using new wheels or old is very nice however. Certainly the people building these fake watches in China could almost give a damn. I had never spent an extra dime to have a watch modded in the past. The reason I did spend the money on the 3717 was because it is such a nice piece, that to insure its long life only made sense. At this point with the movement fix, the lume, and day/date issues resolved, really do make this the 'perfect rep'...for me. Of course others would argue that the AR coating isn't good enough...but where does it end? If I had the dough I would probably buy the gen. -

Originally offered by EL. Now being offered by Precious Time (PT) in europe for about the same cost as Eddie.

I agree. Rather than dealing with the hassle of sending it back to China...send it to The Zigmeister. The quality of the case and dial, and the beauty of this piece make this watch worth the money to have it 'fixed'. Since getting mine back from The Zigmeister with the lume and date wheel alignment this beauty is close to perfect.
-
The main reason I sent my 3717 to The Zigmeister was to deal with the problems we all seem to encounter with the asian 7750. In my case the problem was a more internal one with the movement and the chrono functions. After two days the whole thing froze. I felt that the threading on the crown was very stiff as well. Additionally of course was the misaligned day/date wheel. Rather than try and send the whole deal back to EL, I decided to spend the money and send it to The Zigmeister, figuring that there could just as easily been problems with any replacement that EL might have sent out a second time. Normally I might be more inclined to write the whole thing off, but in the case ofthe 3717 I felt that I liked the watch enough to fix it, and have The Zigmeister do whatever was necessary to make it right. He has done that, and the watch is glued to my wrist since its return. I am afraid that the 7750 issues are the same in any piece, and it is certainly a crap shoot as to how many work flawlessly from the get go, and how many are crap out the gate. Good luck with your problems. If it is worth it to you, perhaps you should have the problem serviced before the movement seizes up.

I will try and get a lume pic later. But for info the lume is the 3-6-9-12 markers and the minute hour hands. IMO it looks great. Definitely not blueish at all in daylight- a solid white. The Zigmeister told me that it was fairly difficult because of the slimness of the markers, and the closeness of the second markers to the lumed marks. But as we all know..The Zigmeister's work is well worth the cost. After wearing the watch for aweek or so now, I must say the the alignment of the day/date wheel is right on, even without having to replace the wheels with the valjouix OEM's.

I sent my 3717 to The Zigmeister. Had a movement swap - Old Asian for new Re-lume on the primary 3-6-9-12 and hands Day/Date wheel alignment - with existing wheel. Although I would like to have put in the correct wheel replacement, as well as the Swiss 7750 movement, I chose not to. I am completely happy with the day/date wheel realignment, and the lume is strong. (Not as strong as my Black monster) My feeling concerning the AR coating is that it is good enough. If one has the unlimited funds to perform 'Ultimate' modding on this and other rep watches, then go ahead by all means. For me the 200.00 bucks I spent on this watch with The Zigmeister was worth it, however an additional 300.00 (+) for the Swiss 7750 and date wheel was not necessary for a poor man like me. Without doubt the IWC Pilot Chrono is my favorite watch of the many reps that I own. I plan on wearing it a lot.

Which rep do you have on the wrist for Haevy duty?

Received my Pilot Chrono back from The Zigmeister today. Movement swap - new 7750 'The Zigmeister lume' Day/Date wheel adjustment As far as I am concerned, this IS the 'Perfect Rep'. Here are a couple more photos of this beautiful watch. Check out the date alignment. Looks REALLY good to me. Without the replacement with the new valjouix wheels. Thank you The Zigmeister. As we all know...YOU ARE THE MAN. And IMHO...The Pilot Chrono is THE WATCH!!!!!

.Well guess what? I received my 3717 back from The Zigmeister today. Had a movement swap, and lume. While fixing up the new movement he was able to adjust the day/date wheel. No need to replace it as far as I can determine. Look at the alignment in todays window. PLENTY good enough for me. As far as I am concerned this watch is a perfect rep. IMHO it is the best rep of the 20(+) that I own. I could not be happier. As we all know The Zigmeister is the MAN

Monster monday...on Rubber Oyster bracelet I like this watch. But...the rest of the week it will be my The Zigmeisterfied 3717. What a nice watch. Pretty perfect now.]

I agree. The Lemania/Seagull self wind is the only way to go, IMO. The thickness of the 7750 movement is a problem for me as well. The vintage daytonas were between 8 and 10mm. Average thickness of most 7750's is the range of 12.5mm to 14. The difference is noticeable, and on a 39/40mm watch the smaller case size and the thicker 7750 movement don't work well for me with a 6.5 in. wrist size. Go with the Seagull movement, and freeze the subdial at 6:00 if it bothers you.

Yes!!! the OEM strap (kevlar or Nylon) is definitely nicer looking than the Watchboys strap. What is the cost of the OEM strap? Where did you order it? Am I the only one who thinks that this watch is as nice a chrono there is these days? I love this watch. It is definitely my favorite piece . It looks fantastic on the rep SS bracelet as well as the black straps, whether Alligator or composite. The Kevlar/Nylon strap is also very nice. With a deployment clasp it would be perfect IMO.
-
Puretime is currently offering a black or brown alligator strap with an IWC deployment clasp for 60.00.
-
I was looking today at Puretimes site and see that he is offering a black alligator IWC strap with IWC deployment for 60.00. I have emailed to see what he recommends to fit the Pilot chronos 21 mm. Nice set up for 60.00. Dudley, did you ever get your Kevlar strap? Puretime is offering a nice nylon, but I am not sure it fits the 3717.

Watches that one do not wear should be sold right away!
jeff g replied to Stephane's topic in General Discussion
Me too. I have 20 currently. Wear 6 or 7 and the rest sit in the box. But... I like most of them, and every once in awhile one or two jump on to my wrist. 6 or 7 others I think about selling, but never seem to take the time to do it. Favorites come and go. Lately the watch I like best these days - the IWC Pilot Chrono is the one that I wear most. But things change. Give away the ones you never wear away to a friend or two. If the really good ones you never wear are worth the money..try and sell them around here.
