  1. Nice post, and photos... All you need is the AP RO to help complete the Gerald Genta collection of classics. All of these watches designed back in the day. He is in fact going to Hubolt next year. Can't wait to see his new 'Bang' series of signature pieces. Here is the black dial Nautilus. What a beautiful watch. Thin too win.
  2. Here is an auction watch of the Nautilus with the roman numerals that sold recently for 10,000.(+)USD It is not a 'Jumbo' but measures 38mm x 42mm. I think that the MBK rep currently available is certainly similar to this dial and configuration.
  3. Here are a few more nice shots of the unconnected dot model. Probably the most accurate dial of these current MBK's utilizing the connected line pattern around the dial face, is this model that utilizes Roman numeral hours markers
  4. The presence of the 3717 is unbeatable. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful chronos available. Wear it with the ss bracelet, and it will answer all your questions. Trust me.
  5. Like others in this thread...I buried both of my parents after watching them deal with thier cancers. Words do no justice to the feelings we all have gone thru watching our parents suffer. For me, I think back to when I was a boy, and think of the times they were strong and vibrant. The good memories are what I hold on to. My condolences to you and your family.
  6. An excellent review, I must say. I have spent more hours researching the Nautilus since purchasing the rep, than I have spent on any other watch that I own. Since getting the Nautilus I have not worn any of the other 20(+) watches that I own. The reason...The Nautilus is WITHOUT doubt the finest timepiece I have ever worn. I cannot stop admiring it. The different textures, between the polished and brushed surfaces of the case and bracelet, the beauty of the dial, and simplicity of the entire piece, are for me..close to perfection. The fact that the watch is not an absolute replica of any of the jumbo's, especially with the center seconds hand, only add to the beauty of the piece. It is not a 3700 jumbo, it is not a 3800 jumbo, and it is not the new 5711, rather it is a bit of all three. Your review is excellent. A testimony to a beautiful rep. Of the four featured Gerald Genta designs that you illustrated here, to me, of the four watches shown, the Nautilus is the most handsome. We are fortunate to have it available to us. I too, feel as though the rep is as beautiful as the genuine, and I feel fortunate to own it. My watch, I feel, is as close to the original design as the original 3700. A watch that at auction is selling in excess of 50,000.00 dollars. I have seen a number of 3800's with the center seconds hand and white date window, that at auction have sold for 30,000.00 (+) USD. The MBK rep, at 450.00 is WELL worth the money.
  7. The difference is simply that the dealers offering the PP Nautilus that are available thru PT and other cartel members are NOT MBW/MBK models similar to what TTK is offering. The reason that those offerings are so much less expensive by 100.00USD or so..is because they are not MBK's. Simple.
  8. WOW, there are an awful lot of VERY nice watches on this weekend wrist check. I'll add another. Worn this one all month. Pretty boring, but oh man what a nice watch.
  9. A must own/have... for many collectors. Very nice photos. Wear it well. Correct hand stack or not.
  10. Absolutely beautiful watches...and photos. Every time I think about selling any of my Pams I just switch my leather straps to the SS bracelet, and forget about it. Thanks for the inspiration.
  11. Gotta be the Asian Omega GMT. Beautiful watch, 130.00 USD
  12. My wife loves her Constellation. It is quartz of course, but very close to the gen. I would not recommend the Seamaster. Far and away her favorite is her Cartier Tank. Also a good looking rep.
  13. The models illustrated on his web page do not seem to be the same that TTK and a few others are currently showing as MBK models. The difference in price at approx. 100.00 cheaper I think reflect the difference in both the eta movement, as well as the case and dial configuration. PT's models are actually a more appropriate dial to the gens with the connected lines around the outside of the face, and Roman numerals as apposed to markers. The Power reserve dial is not near the quality, IMO, as the models that TTK is offering in his Nautilus version. The crown in PT's model offer seems much larger, and the case seems to be thicker as well. It would be nice to get some clarification of the differences, real or imagined, from the dealers themselves. 100.00 cheaper for the same watch offered by TTK seems pretty absurd.
  14. TTK stated recently that the PPNautilus was not a MBW, but rather a MBK. These models are the same style as the ones that he was selling. But are they the same quality? The MBK's were retaling for 100.00USD more than PureTimes pricing. Not sure. Perhaps PureTime or TTK might let us know the answer.
  15. Lies, no lies? It seems to me that the entire issue is the pricing that these guys have begun to charge, and whether or not the product is worth the price. For me as a consumer the real issue is what you get for what you pay, as well as the service that goes with it. One of my gripes has been the cartels shipping charge in the last 6 months. 30.00 per item. It is crazy. EMS tracking numbers are useless. Put it in the mail...take your chances. When dealing with King (Cartel member?) - No shipping charge - same pricing as the others. ??? Go figure. Waterproofing? Correctly aligned bezels or..QC? - Non existent. These guys, and many other dealer/collectors are drop shippers. They know NOTHING about what you are going to receive. How many 'collectors' on this or the other Forums really examine the watches you receive? Good question. Any of us really know the answer? One of our most vocal dealer/collectors continually reiterates that he examines/tests all watches he ships. In a deal with him a few years back I received an Omega with a Rolex crown. I guess he missed that. It is a crap shoot...plain and simple...'Rep is just rep.' If you find a dealer that you personally trust...and he or she does right by you, consider yourself lucky, and stick with them.
  16. Very nice, I must say. TANFOGLIO would be jealous.
  17. It is so bizzare, Like many of you in this thread, I was crazy to amass 25 watches that I loved the look of when first getting into the rep world. Now, I too, feel as though 5 or 6 watches would be more than enough to have in my 'collection'. Currently I own 23. (Silly huh?) I used to justify this number of watches with the 'shoe' analogy...'Sure you have a lot of shoes to pick from, but you decide which pair to wear based on the occassion, or how your feeling at the moment.' Same with your watch. As of late I have only purchased 3 watches in 2007. I haven't lost interest in beautiful watches by any means...but I have lost interest in buying reps that last a few months, and begin having mech problems. Like many, I swear I will never buy another asian 7750. I have lost interest in really big watches. Chronos like Breitlings and Pams leave me cold. HBB has never appealed to me. 42mm to 44mm is ok I guess...but 47mm???? No thanks. Mostly I hate the fact that they are all sooooooo damn THICK. It is like wearing a hockey puck on your wrist.. My wrist is only 6 3/4''. I have 6 Omegas. But have never wanted a PO. I have 3 Pam's. Don't want another. My latest purchase was the PP Nautilus. Not only is this a beautiful watch (IMO), but it is the thinnest watch I own, at approx. 9.5 mm. I LOVE this watch. Since buying it I have not worn another. I consisder wearing my 3717 occassionaly, but for one reason or another, I haven't taken of the Nautilus since I purchased it. It is perfect for me. I live and work in an upscale atmosphere. I can actually afford a 7000.00 to 15.000 watch. That really however is not the issue. Most of the people I know wear either Rolex or TAG's, and MOST of them would not even know what a PP Nautilus is. (Or care). The issue simply is, the PP Nautilus is a beautifully designed, comfortable, attractive timepiece. With the purchase of this watch, I kind of feel like I am done with collecting so many sport type watches. Perhaps my next purchase might be the APRO, but who knows...the new TAG Aquaracer is a beautiful piece as well, but the fact that it is a 7750 makes me shy away. Still my niche will always be black dialed, SS bracelets. Watches like the Submariner, the Seamaster, and the 3717 will always appeal to me...but now that I own the MBK Nautilus...I am pretty much done. Thanks for reading, FWIW. Check this out......
  18. Very nice selection of sports watches. Nice photos too. Thanks for sharing. Wear them well.
  19. Black dials...SS bracelets. Love many brands-sport models mostly. As of late..this one ONLY.
