Yep...Brad Pitt is definitely wearing the PP Nautilus. Looks new, perhaps the 5711. Very cool.

This is the only FM that I currently own. I love the looks of this watch. Bought it a few years ago. Asian hand wind. Runs great. Black dial - CASABLANCA.

I would have to agree with the comments concerning the reason for this top 100 list, is as a result of the watches that 'The Watch Quote' is selling or has sold. On a number of other sites there are some conflicting reports listing the 'Top' 10 - 50 - 100, etc. Each list based on a different criteria. Certainly most of the top 10 are fairly universal, but sales of a specific model on this list seems to be what constitutes its number on the list.

Have to agree that the SS band looks great on the 111 or 112. I have a 112 and Daylight that I switch bands on when wearing them for different occassions, and I personally love the look of the SS bracelet on either watch. I am basically a SS band kinda guy though. The only PAM I don't consider worthy of the SS bands would be the Radimor's like the 183. But for almost all other models, I think the SS bands look bitchin. Jiro, has the same SS band look on his 111h in his avatar, and everytime I see it...I like it.

Pretty easy for me. SS Sport w/ Black dials. PP Nautilus Jumbo - MBK/MBW IWC 3717 Rolex Explorer I Rolex Vintage Paul Newman Daytona Rolex Vintage 6265 Rolex Submariner Rolex Vintage 40's dresswatch Omega Seamaster Pro Omega Seamaster GMT Omega James Bond Seamaster TAG Link Chrono PAM Base PAM Daylight Chrono PAM 183 FM Casablanca Seiko Black Monster A few more... but for the most part they all sit in the cases. I am wearing only one these days - exclusively (boring huh?) This one....

As you might of ascertained, IWC reps in general are mostly GREAT reps. It is really your taste in watches that should help make the decision. Additionally, the type of movement in the various reps is also important. The eta movement in the IGGY is pretty damned reliable, while the 7750 in the Cousteau and in the 3717 can be more problematic (or not). Swapping the asian 7750 for a 'swiss' can help but is more expensive and involves watchsmithing. On the other hand...the 3717 is without a doubt the 'best' unmodded chrono available IMHO.

I spoke with Eddie lately. Many reasons for his lack of regularity here on the forums...but if you want to contact him he is alive and well.

Nice site, thanks for the tip. I thought it interesting that the 'Most Viewed' watch on the entire site was the nice photo of the James Bond Omega Planet Ocean. Panerai and Rolex were not even in the top ten. After the Omegas (top 5) were the PP Nautilus's. A very nice shot of the 5711. Hundreds of watch pictures.

3717 is THE best chrono choice out there. Probably the closest to perfect current rep available. IMHO. Looks like TTK is offering one these days. Seems that would be a good source. He 'inspects' all his watches.

When your favorite watch gets bumped down to 2nd Place...
jeff g replied to TeeJay's topic in General Discussion
I have a fairly larger collection 20 (+) pieces. They are ALL my second favorites since I got my MBK Nautilus a month or so ago. For the first time in 4 years, I have worn this watch exclusively. I can't take the thing off. I can's stop looking at it, never really seeing the time...just admiring the way the light plays off the the polished/brushed case. For me it works for all occasions, jacket, or jeans. To me it is the worlds most beautiful watch. Period. This photo does it no justice. -
Prudent... perhaps to also have made the correct dial as well. Swiss instead of Swiss Made. Unconnected dots rather than the connected lines which is more like the 3710.etc...etc... The fake of the fake has a corrected dial, 'Swiss'... and still has the seconds hand. So go figure. Some members have removed the seconds hand in order to make the jumbo more of a jumbo. But the fake of the fake is not a MBK watch. The 9 different dial choices are not accurate to a gen PP. Buy them if you like..or not. Buy the MBK...if you want a beautiful time piece....Fantasy or not. Or..don't. At this point there is not a perfect replica of the Nautilus, whether it is a 3700...a 3800...or a 5711. More 'perfect' would be the 3710, with the Roman numeral dial choice.

I own one of the MBK Nautilus's. A beautiful timepiece. It has no screw down crown. The 'Swiss Made' is incorrect. It should read 'Swiss', like the fake of the fake'. Jumbo's are 42mm. Jumbo's have no seconds hand. 3800/1A's which have unconnected dots are only 39mm but have a seconds hand. The newly released 5711 are 43mm, have a seconds hand, but also have a sapphire case back and gold rotor. NONE of the currently released nautilus's are correct to any of the gen's, other than the 3710's which have roman numerals, and a seconds hand, and say 'Swiss' like the new fake of the fake. If absolute replication of the gen possiblities are what you are looking for, then you are out of luck. Best bet would be to buy one of the fake of the fakes, one of the MBK's, and then switch dials to the 'Swiss' put it in the MBK, and cut off the seconds hand. And of course it has to be the dial that has the unconnected dots, no dot at the three location, and it all has to fit together with a 'decent' ETA. Got that?

Black for a more professional look. Brown for the casual 'sport' look. SS ALL the time. For the 3717, I personally prefer the SS. Without a doubt one of the most buttery feeling and comfortable bracelets I own. Especially nice on the heavier chrono like the 3717. Whichever you choose you can hardly go wrong, because it is such a nice watch.

Beautiful photos. Nice sentiment. I have been fortunate to have lived for almost a decade in Europe. I continue to travel there fairly often. It is Italy and Spain for me these past few trips. But...Home IS where the heart is, and home for me is the good ol' USA. I live in the rockies, and there is where my heart is. It is always good to come 'home' after a great visit. Be thankful for all that you have.

Speaking of Nautilus's, I found this photo of a gen in a recent auction. Circa 1976 Jumbo. Notice the datewheel and font character printing on this gen. This piece sold for over 40,000.00 at auction. Seems to make our datewheel issues regarding alignment and font differences compared to gens a bit less important. FWIW. I agree with the assesment on the 3710 rep. To me it is very close to the gen in appearance. Major differences when being picky is that the rep is larger than the gen at 42mm. Here is a comparison of a gen 30001/1 to the currently available rep. Very close, however the baton hands used in the rep are a big give away. And as mentioned the rep is 42mm and the gen only 38mm. But the difference need not take away from the beauty of this MBK rep. It is a beautiful watch...Trust me.

It seems that some members are concerned that when they come on line that 'local ads' pop up identifying them as users in thier local area. Of course in fact, EVERY time you boot up your IP is known to the site that you visit. The photos of the gals you see have nothing to do with your local area, but only the fact that you are in fact booted through your local provider. If you have no interest, simply ignore the ads. If you click on one of them it is in fact a boon to RWG, because it generates revenue. Don't worry...be happy.

75,000.00!!! For that money you need to get the best damn car out there. THIS is it. The New Audi S5. 2 door coupe. What a nice ride. Can you say FAST? All wheel drive - the only way to go. The rest are pretenders. Read all about it. Probably the strongest runner Audi has created so far. (for the road)

How about this beautiful photo of my favorite monster? A world beater for sure. Could not pass it up. Enjoy.

THAT'S all you got?

Wow, What a nice find. Some great detailed information on many beautiful watches. One could spend days on that site. Probably will. Bookmarked for sure. Thanks. That mis-aligned date wheel on the 3717 gen is classic. Makes my 3717 look even better.

Without a doubt THE NICEST selection of watches I have ever seen. What to wear next? Euno rules Genta.
