  1. Cartier's always seemed effeminate and pretentious at the same time. But yet I've bought the 1:1 copy of the Roadster from Josh, and am considering picking up a seatimer. It never ends. *sigh*
  2. Can't seem to get this one off since I modded it (brushed the case to match the bezel):
  3. Love mine too, absolutely the iconic breitling watch, and my black one is on one of the new rep breitling straps:
  4. Of the 4, I voted for Bourne, it's a summer popcorn flick, and it's not going to be in theaters much longer.
  5. Great watch, it was the one that made me decide to mod my 024a and convert the case from polished to brushed (along w/the 025, of course).
  6. Thanks all! addingwatch, It's on a Wojteki dark brown strap with tan stitching, I've had the strap a long time, but this is the first time it ever looked "right" on this watch.
  7. I like it! My fave DSN is the 082, since it goes so well with a tan strap. Since I wear jeans and Bjorn shoes a lot, it matches up very nicely for the more casual style. I've got the pic at an angle to catch the light, with makes the dial show blue, but most of the time the dial looks black or very dark navy, and only "flashes" blue when the light hits it (very cool):
  8. Recently modded 024a (brushed the case to match the bezel). Before: After:
  9. I have always loved my 024A from EL, I like the sub line from panerai, and I liked the fact that the bezel did not have the hash marks between 12 and 3. The circular markers on the bezel and the circular hour markers on the dial and the circular subdial at 9 and the circular date magnifier combined with the brushed circular bezel gave this watch the feeling of being a "study in circles", which I really liked. The one thing I was always vaguely a bit unhappy with was the fact that the case and crown were highly polished and only the bezel was brushed, giving too much of a bling effect to a watch that by design should have been strictly ruggedly masculine. Here is what it looked like before I decided to mod it: Definitely a good looking watch. But I thought it could be even better with an all-brushed case. Less accurate to the gen? Sure. But since I think panerai missed the boay on this one (and since there is no Ti brushed 025 reps available), I figured "why not?" So, some time with some fine grit sandpaper, a brillo pad, and a scratch-pen, here are the results: Hope you like it, I know I'm ecstatic!
  10. The Timewalkers are designed for Mont Blanc by Panerai. Good looking watch, and you are right, huge dial.
  11. 024 on rubber. Still love this watch after all this time. Wish they would do a 025 in Ti as a super-rep.
  12. Damn, I got sucked in too. Is it OK that mine's on leather?
  13. Maybe something funky this weekend:
  14. That is a GREAT shot. I'm going w/the Omega SMP Chrono w/single sided AR (thanks chieftang!), on a blue nylon zulu strap, love how the texture of the strap matches the texture of the dial:
  15. I think you are right about the SS bracelet looking better w/the white dial:
  16. Very nice! I have a blue dial SFSO, and I keep going back and forth between getting a white dial or a black dial to supplement.
  17. I got it from PureTime. I normally buy my stuff from Josh, but PureTime had the correct colored grey dial, and Josh only had the incorrect graphite colored dial at the time. I think they can all get this combo now though, just send the dealer a pic and ask.
  18. Seems pretty versatile to me
  19. I have the 008 and 011, and to me they are much closer to "fashion" watches, and even though they are well done and well built, they simply do not exude class and exclusivity the way a standard PAM does.
  20. Yes, the gens have sharper lines on the case (while still having curves and slopes). Only the recent DSN cases match this aspect, the standard rep cases do not. Gens also have better/clearer crystals and better quality AR. Dial printing is sharper, crown is sharper and more polished, these all small details that add up to give a better overall feel to the watch. It's the difference between seeing a rep on a wrist and thinking "wow, that's a cool watch", and seeing a gen and thinking, "wow, that's a NICE watch". The latest DSN's will get you closer to that quality feel, but even they are not quite at that level. Quite close, but still just short. If you really want an eye opener, compare the rep 212 to the gen 212, the gap is much larger than on the 111 or 005, the 212 gen is amazing in it's overall level of fit and finish and feel of quality.
