  1. That was an odd line of attack on the watch. The way some posters were reacting, you'd think they'd found a B-17 on the moon: "How could that possibly be on it?!"
  2. Thanks, Freddy and dluddy! Just a sunny afternoon in the garden with a simulated Agfacolor Vista effect to punch it up.
  3. "Hanhart Fliegerchronograph", and the Poljot 3133:
  4. Final minute and we're back above $60K. This will be a nail-biter. $66,100 to a sniper! Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!
  5. ...and here comes the roller coaster at 10 minutes: 40K then 50K, driven up by a guy with 5 feedback. Check in for more live-blogging updates! EDIT: $55K! Oh, the humanity! UPDATE 2: New player, with a very tentative increase of a few hundred bucks. Shot down. Get out of here, piker!
  6. Full credit to the guys who are sticking to their guns and are still in it, but I think you made the right choice.
  7. High bid is down to $31K with less than an hour to go. Are you still in this, Jojo?
  8. C and R are two of the most helpful guys I know on the rep forums. Big thumbs up to Ubi for his generosity. Chi, the pressure's on for a killer project!
  9. Spectacular, C! I can't believe there's a Josh 1655 case somewhere in there!
  10. Not counting some terrible, Ukrainian, "vintage" pieces, the only Junghans rep I've seen was a Poljot jversion of the J88:
  11. Andy, that's one Super Compressor! With Utheman making a very nice wallpaper out of an old shot of this one, I just had to wear the 6239 today:
  12. Thanks for that, flyingwedge. I've had good experiences with PolyWatch, but I hate how quickly it breaks down in warmer climates. The tube I bought just a few months ago now squirts out a clear fluid, followed by a milky emulsion. [insert disgusting joke here.] Can anyone suggest a tropical Tropic polish?
  13. So many reference numbers today! Here's my 165.024:
  14. "...and I approve this message." Thanks, W! And thanks, everyone, for the nice compliments! What a fantastic way to end the week!
  15. File under "Nice Photos of Cheap Reps": A winner is me!
  16. Ditto! A blue sunburst is what first got me interested in Rolexes so very long ago. So why don't I have one?!
  17. I'd love to know more about that movement, Stephane. I really like those spindly bridges! Monte Carlo Simulation:
  18. flyingwedge is a good guy, very helpful and quick to share information on parts and mods. As for the Sub, how do you improve on perfection? Like that, apparently!
  19. Now I have the phone numbers of three guys with a lot of cash lying around! Hmm... Should I go with water filtration, chimney repair, or good ol' advance-fee letter fraud? Great story, and I hope the guy gets a fair price for the Sub. If Mulholland wins, I wonder what sort of mark-up we'll see when it goes on sale next week?
  20. Drilled Narikaa Explorer, Shawn? I like it!
  21. I'm not much of a Submariner guy, but I really love blue Subs. That looks great! (And so does the Pre-Tiger.) I know that there are some guys on RWG who have been gathered more than one 7734 in preparation for their 7032 projects. Hope you get your movement fixed, or find a replacement in good running order.
  22. If you want to go new, but cheaper, you could use a Sea-Gull ST2130. EDIT: Disregard. I went cross-eyed and thought I read "2824".
