The Speedmaster Co-Ax is 44mm and change, so you might want to give that one a try!
As for the new Date, I tried one on earlier this year and almost bought it on the spot. I love it when Omega goes to the vintage Rolex well for inspiration!
I'll see you next April in what will be a year-long "Tudor Heritage Chrono in 10 days!!!" thread.
In the meantime, let's all sign an online petition that we can present to The Chinese Rep Factory!
Thanks! Unfortunately, it's a gen Speedmaster Professional, and the only change from stock is a Hirsch calfskin strap.
...not so unfortunate for me, though!
What do you consider reasonable, and does it have to be alligator? Search eBay for "20mm bund" for cheaper alternatives.
HKTan makes a similar, custom alligator bund strap for $229.
The movement is a big turn-off, but with looks like that I'm tempted to be shallow! Patience will pay off, though: The post-release spike in demand didn't materialize, and the early-birds on eBay have been steadily dropping their selling prices.
Ubi's superduper franken 7032 is making a lot of sense, in hindsight...
Narikaa still carries that 1016 every now and then. I wish it were more widely available; it has the best dial of any <$200 vintage Explorer.
And your "aged" effect is still among the best I've seen, even after one year!
I recall there being a London-based seller offering similar packages on eBay some months ago: DW-type case + gen crown/tube/crystal, with bidding starting at USD 500. Possibly a good deal if all parts are really NOS gen, and you can't be bothered to hunt them down individually, for a cheaper price.
deskdiver66: Nice TAG, but you need to shrink your photo to 1024x768--tops. I feel intimately familiar with the back of your hand, and that ain't right!
Space-Dweller Week comes to an end, and the Daytona makes a return to my wrist:
What year is your Speedmaster? Assuming you have a Cal.1861, get
Stem OME-1861#401 $15.00
Omega Crown Stainless Steel 43069 $34.00
If you have an older Speedy, get the appropriate stem for either a Cal.861 or (gasp) a Cal.321.
Rough news! I would've thought the Yuki case might have too narrow a bezel, at worst. But if you can't even slip most Rolex crystals onto the case, then that's a very big problem.
It's a shame, since the overall proportions looked very good in your pictures. But you can't judge a case until you've brought out the calipers.
Argh... Now that you've mentioned this, it's all I notice!
Back to searching fruitlessly through eBay, or hoping that concepta finds a batch of 3707 dials!
