  1. Touched by the master. Beauty, chief!
  2. I'm not sure. The only good rep jubilee I have is from jmb, and I'm away from my parts box at the moment!
  3. #23-9290. These are 1.8mm thick, double-shoulder, and flangeless bars. The ones on Ofrei should work well, but I'm sure you can find some from sources with cheaper shipping.
  4. To clarify, I only bought the 6263 mid-case from Phong--no bezel, crystal, or anything else. Big money for a hunk of steel, but far less than $5500. A lot of that amount goes into modifying the movement to be more Rolex-y, and I'm not interested in that.
  5. Fifteen hour flight coming up. Guh...
  6. Be careful, JJ! We don't want you ending up like Marie Curie! Or Pierre...
  7. This is a wonderful build, JJ. The strontium lume is an amazing touch.
  8. The 455B is a life-saver. Still, I hope you find a good jubilee, as I think an Oyster looks too utilitarian for a Day-Date. In fact, I think you should slap on a gold fluted bezel, and a Tridor bracelet!

Inner-diameter issues aside, DW's 300UPH bezel is a thing of beauty. Great-looking watch.
  10. Superb, Laser! That's going to be a fantastic "Belmondo"!
  11. "Classy" is le mot juste! Terrific build, M!
  12. Fantastic review. Thanks! I crashed a GTG in Singapore just to see the rep up close. Thankfully, a couple of guys had bought one. The styling is more austere than I'd like, but the quality of replication was very good based on my brief experiences with the gen at the JLC AD.
  13. MultiChron 12 from the early 60s. There's a nice story behind it!
  14. Quite possibly the two most expensive frankens in Singapore last weekend: Unfortunately, this photo fails to capture the deep, rich silver of siesta181's sigma dial.
  15. J: Thanks! I would really like to slow down on the projects, but there's always a spare part in the box that's just begging to be put to use! I spy yet another V72 in a small tin... siesta: I didn't realize how close we'd come to buying each other's dials in June. Yes, spend fast and enjoy the watch before the bills arrive! It was great talking to you guys and meeting the mysterious legend Spinmaster!
  16. Noted, Pete. You're now on the "If I ever sell" list!
  17. So I was walking down the streets of Singapore the other day when I randomly run into siesta181 wearing his own beautiful 6263 franken. The silver sigma dial on it was gorgeous! It just goes to show that no matter how nice your watch is, there's always room for more envy! Thanks again for all the nice comments, everyone. B and E, it was great meeting you in person earlier this month. to see how your own Super Daytona projects turn out. Mike: What issue are you referring to?
  18. Thanks! And to think it was just a few weeks ago when we were looking at parts in the trunk of a Challenger!
