Welcome to the Forum! Enjoy your stay ... you're not a newbie so I wont tell you to read everything you can and educate yourself

Do not trust a dealer to service your watch. Use a trusted forum watch smith to do this.

It's on the ground floor of MBK .. the shop's name is Nah Piek. You have to ask to see the good stuff.

Bought a 500M; immediately sent it to Vaccum for mods
Jkay replied to Jkay's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
I think because Tag places text and item details below the cyclops, it just looks like the clops is in the way! The AR lab would not do their job with the cyclops in place, and so I just had Vac shave it and forget it. The Tag gen forum gave me this idea. OH and it is just the white balance in Vac's photo .. it's a black 500M .. the blue model would also have a blue rubber bezel insert I forgot to mention in the top post that the watch passed 5ATM out of the box .. it could not go the distance to 10ATM . -
Thought I had lost this one... a little tribute

Breguet Héritage Tourbillon (assistance request)
Jkay replied to breguettourbillon's topic in Other Brands Area
On the very front page of this Forum (the page with the chat box at the top) scroll halfway down your screen and you will see a long list of our trusted dealers, who have been with us for years. try Trusty Time, Pro-Watch Polo, Perfect Clones, etc etc etc -
The new Tag Aquaracer 500M comes in a blue tuxedo dial, if I am not mistaken, and is not a "rich man" watch @ $2900 USD new. The replica is a very solid watch. It needs re-luming and AR to be really good. This is the black dial, but the blue has a blue bezel insert as well. Look here for a gray market eBay auction of the blue dial version ---> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tag-Heuer-Aquaracer-500M-Blue-Dial-Stainless-Steel-Mens-Watch-WAJ1112-BA0870-/150818312464

As the Aquaracer 500M (with Sellita) arrives, I found it rather unacceptable. No AR, poor lume .. on a $320 rep?! It went out to Vac only days after coming here. I had him lume it, shave off the cyclops, do double AR and finally, the 10 ATM waterproofing test. "Shaved the clops?!" I hear you saying ... why yes. I saw in some Gen forum that those owners were doing it, and sure enough the watch looks better. Here are the finished product shots from Vac, pre-shipment. I'm looking forward to receiving it for a second time.

Spotted in the wild - and totally made someones day - a 1680 story
Jkay replied to cjjoyce1's topic in The Rolex Area
Thank you for sharing that story, and for being an honest person. -
The best dealers are here on this forum. Always remember what this hobby is: buying and selling contraband items. If you can grasp the nature of the thing, it becomes more clear to you what to expect. All the dealers on this site can be trusted with your orders. Some have great web sites, and some have NO web site. Some dealers here receive more negative feedback than others. This can be caused by trying to grow too quickly and losing control of your business or being small to begin with and trying to handle the flow of orders from these large forums. Some dealers are "companies" and some are one-person shops. The dealers mostly buy the exact same watches from the factories or from a watch bazaar. Moving from dealer to dealer will not improve the quality of a watch replica. That said, some dealers cater to the low end, offering mostly quartz or a21j watches. That is by design, and not because their "factory" builds worse replicas ... it's marketing to a different crowd of buyers. The speed of delivery depends on a few things .. did you want to pay for EMS courier shipping or will you only pay for Air Mail (5 days or two weeks, your choice) .. also is it a pre-order of a hot piece, where you will have to wait a few weeks for the watch to become available due to the huge demand. All the dealers here "stand behind" their sales, since it's a prerequisite to being a trusted dealer. You get an opportunity to reject a watch on a cosmetic basis via approval photos sent before shipment. Then if it arrives to you broken you have the option of returning it for repair or replacement. If it is seized by Customs in your country, it will normally be replaced (ONCE) free of charge. About communication: Some dealers are much better with this than others. A rule of thumb, tho, is that dealers who are willing to hold your hand and spoon feed you also charge the most money for their watches.

Your cost for a Noobmariner will be mainly determined by the movement you choose. It comes in a21j, clone and Swiss eta. Look to start at around $50 usd for an a21j noobmariner.

Hello there! As you may or may not know, very few things on the Internet are permenently anchored. They tend to vanish via erosion with the steady flow of time. In the past two years, the Forum has moved domains, and changed forum software a few times, and many older links are permanently broken. Sad but true. -
how in the world do you get a mirror finish like a brand new watch ?
Jkay replied to APguy1's topic in General Discussion
If Cape Cod could get out scratches, professionals would use it for that purpose. It is too mild for serious work. It has it's good uses but it can not hope to replace a buffing wheel (or dremel) and rouge. In the same way sandpaper can not replace a belt sander. -
Wow it could be a twin to mine, except the insert is a little more faded on mine.

Aren't they dimensionally identical?

How can someone be a member for almost a year, and attack another member for owning a replica ...

The date wheel is one of FxrAndy's famous creations. I happen to have bought it from him a few years ago. And the bracelet /end links came on a PureTime 1680.

I asked Highoey to build this for me, and I can't wait to get it. We worked together locating gen parts, good rep parts, and a nice low beat ETA to go inside. I found the movement on a tiny Pacific island, if you can imagine that. If Zig can make time in his schedule for it, I'm going to ask for white lume and a complete re-brush / polish and a service on the movement. Thanks a million, S! btw - my inspiration to start this project was Ronin's white 1665. Someone bought it from him, and sent it off to PBdad, who tinted the dial cream colored. I just knew I had to create a white 1665 to replace it.
-
Why don't you use MBK parts for your base?
-
jmb: thank you for creating a silver overlay to correct the Cartel 1680 alignment. I assume this is what you have done.

PAM 111n Noob - First night wearing watch results in scratch on Crystal!
Jkay replied to Leology's topic in The Panerai Area
I feel that if a crystal is under stress, it would not develop a small fracture directly in the center, and stop there .. it would BLOW. No? -
I can not seem to find a lume photo of the Gen on the internet; is the "railroad" chapter ring on the dial lumed at all on the Gen? I find it a bit difficult to read the time at night with only the hands lumed, and nothing at all on the dial.

Bergie's leather items smell of fine leather goods. Not cheap stuff. The cheap stuff is named PU. I'm not joking. PU is a split leather hide sprayed with plastic coating colored like leather and stamped with a leather pattern. Ahhh wait, I see you are asking about Damier Canvas ..... never bought it, so I can't comment.
