  1. EMS is courier mail. When the EMS package gets to your own country, put the EMS tracking number into your own country's mail system tracking tool. Canada Post, Royal Mail, US Post Office etc etc etc. Can I be more clear? How many times must I type this.
  2. The noobmariner has been sold for as little as $48 in the past.
  3. The photo color is a bit washed out from the light, but I do not see any silver outline around the numerals.
  4. Very nice. The "dry lubricant" bicycle chain lube recommended on the forum does the same thing, but you don't get as much as in this obviously huge spray can you're showing to us. Follow your procedure with the dry lubricant, and you'll have coated all the inner workings with lovely dry teflon. SILKY.
  5. While Narikaa is an awesome dealer, why would you pay him $40 extra for the exact same NoobMariner? And the A21j is not the "worst movement". It's an improved copy of the venerable Japanese Miyota/Citizen workhorse and with proper assembly and oiling it is as good as any other movement. Of course the 2813 is low-beat so it will appear a bit less refined than a high-beat movement when observing the seconds hand. If it breaks?? $18 for a new one.
  6. That's a beautiful Tudor, but the un-beveled date window? Looks crude. I could overlook the window for the watch as a whole, tho.
  7. You must buy a buffing machine. Purchase jeweler's rouge in stick form ... then polish! Brushed metal is a bit easier .. 3M metal refinishing pads of different grits are the order of the day.
  8. You're welcome. On a forum like this one, people come in every week who have never owned a mechanical watch before, and don't really know how to make it work.

    Help

There was a project attempted last year, where a watchsmithing member of the Forum borrowed my SOSF for a few months and tried every Breitling crown he could order ... and there was no joy at all. Good luck in your search .. the SOSF model has been replaced with a new model. Maybe you can get the new model replica crown and tube ..
  10. EMS is treated as special Courier Mail when it comes into the destination country. That means (in your case) Royal Mail will have updated tracking information in (most likely) much sharper form than China EMS will. Try Royal Mail's web site tracking tool with your EMS number and you will see.
  11. OK for after-work with jeans or casual pants .. the vintage Rolex GMT all the way. I was going to say the Sub until I saw the GMT. For the working day, I'd go Omega Aqua-Terra .. the DJ is too predictable.
  12. You can't see how people might do anything to get their money back? People are nuts for money. I hope TC and BK are not now caught in a sea of angry email from such people. That would be a tremendous waste of time.

    Advice! GMT

You could probably carefully erase that part which says "II"
  14. OH IT"S ON ... from the lack of ink in some of the engraved letters, I am more likely to believe it's a replica.
  15. I get the feeling that this is your first mechanical watch. Dont worry, people come in all the time and ask questions as a complete first-timer. Turn the crown counter-clockwise to unscrew it from it's waterproofing tube. When it is fully unscrewed, it is in the winding position. turn it slowly clockwise to wind the watch. Counter-clockwise will do nothing. Gently pull the crown outwards from the watch body to it's second position and turn the crown to quick-set the date wheel. Pull the crown out again to it's third position and the hands (the time) will adjust. Push the crown inwards towards the watch body now, and while pressing inwards turn the crown counter-clockwise until you feel a small CLICK .. this indicates that the screw threads inside the crown and the watch body are aligned. Now, while still pressing inwards, turn the crown clockwise and it will thread onto the watch body and become attached/watertight. If you do not align the crown's screw threads and the watch body's screw threads before tightening it down, you risk cross-threading the assembly and no one wants to do that.
  16. Watchmakers use a staking tool to resize holes, not lasers. You can open a hole or slightly reduce it's size as well with a staking arbor and the appropriately sized staking post. As for your exact situation, I do not know. I just know how it's done, not how to do it
  17. This pretty piece arrived today from member Sgtguk (with some additional straps bundled into the box for free!) so I have officially switched from the vintagized 1680.
  18. That's an amazing bit of detective work, and a very sad story. Thank you for relating this important news to the community. It's also potentially explosive, since the people with money invested in the WM9 SD pre-order might rally against the original business partner. As for a factory name .. how about WM10
  19. To be fair, I sign "kindest regards" because it seems very polite, not because I'm from China.
  20. Do you suspect the rep is steel instead of titanium?
  21. The ghost of the inventor of the flush toilet reveals that you are meant to sit facing the toilet tank, and this is why toilets are "dangerous" currently ... we're sitting on them backwards.
  22. No, I'm not joking. I don't know the different Panerai models.
  23. He was joking. This is a question someone asks 5x a week here, as they join the forum.
