  1. the dial looks to be fresh out of the oven, at least thats the only way I know how to turn the font brownish
  2. Nikki is his assistant more or less. If you got problems, nikki can barely solve it for you, it's like talking to David from DW. When I had a problem I was dealing with angus and yes, be persistent because Angus sometimes forget. But of course, you have to give them 2-3 days to responds which feels liek forever if you have a problem.
  3. It's a time when Rolex was actually functionally relevant vs.bling (now)
  4. the trademarking has to be on the item itself. You can say that it's "for a panerai or rolex" and it's still legal.
  5. for my modern rolexes, a screwdriver works really well.
  6. bwahahahah it won an award? there's at least 3 glaring differences, the crown size, pearl and hands size
  7. wow, it actually works. Wouldn't it be so much better if the strap were rubber?? hmmm
  8. I thought it was m3x0.35 (pretty hard to find) I just use loctite blue to make the tube waterproof on mine.
  9. hmm... I knew it. the bezel for this model is different than most 1675 models. the engravings look genuine based on the example I found below.
  10. you'd be surprised how much people will pay for stuff. Remember LH PAM111 selling for 1k?
  11. from looking at too many sub bezels. I was wondering why it looks so dam big. Then I thought that the case might be overpolished.
  12. are you sure it's 100% original? I'm not a gmt expert, but from what I can tell you, the bezel is aftermarket and the hands seem to come off a datejust XD. Try to get a shot of the engravings.
  13. WHAT??? who would buy such a ............ :bangin: :bangin:
  14. I thought I had it bad when i bought mine a year ago for $550. but that was 30 days before wm9 went AWOL. .
  15. a 1675 UAE (united arab emirates). rare, but not my style
  16. nope. doesn't match any reference from my reference book. Also notice that the movement is poorly finished and is a landeron. Patek uses a valjoux ebauche and almost always have a distinctive cap to cover up a wheel (i forgot what it's called) for their chronograph. OT: vintage pateks
  17. how much do women know about watches anyways? bigger + bling = sexy (pam, hublot.. etc)?. I'm probably the only 20 something person here that likes vintage rolex.
  18. have no idea, still in the planning stages
  19. I was actually thinking of designing a 6538 using Maya and have some machining shop with a 5 axis CNC and a press to machine one for me. Phong's 5513 isn't thaat bad, if you're willing to pay the price that is 0.o
  20. lol. this. I had jmb bought me a tension ring from Clark for my 1665 from PT. He said it didn't fit and it was a pain in the ass for him to modify it to fit. Thank god I had him fit it.
  21. if you want things done right, you gotta do it yourself. That's my motto =D.... we shall make our own REPS!!! i bet you I can get manufacturers to produce vintage rolex mid cases here in Canada, without markings of course.
  22. yep, sent mine of to jmb. He's a miracle worker. Now it has gen crystal with gen like construction.
