I agree. My point is simply that you don't actually need a whole lot of resources or money. Though the services can indeed be bought. While i'm not theorising at all, i also think the timing is interesting with Basel and the Chinese crackdown. The pimply kid theory is not out of the question. While there are commercial services of course, you don't actually need money or great resources to launch a DDoS. For example, a couple years ago, in a another hobby, we had a kid launch a DDoS and take down half a dozen big sites that were serving files, and DoS some users offline. . We found out who it was via boasting on Efnet. A little counter hacking turned up his name, address and employer. Kid worked out Kohls (America) on the dock. I called him everyday (via the stores office number) claiming it was an urgent family matter, from Australia, just to say "hi". With Fringe you have to stay with it until the end of season 1. Largely they run episodal until then, but they start to roll out the mythology at the end of the season. From there it gets awesome.

I don't understand why peeps are riding this guy. He's not asking if his rep is waterproof based on your test... he's asking if anyone has tested theirs - were there leaks at the bezel/xtal because of the bezel construction of this particular build method.

I have no doubt that such pieces exist. I'd speculate that the reason we "haven't seen them" is rather obvious... The reps we enjoy are made to fool the unwashed. While those sorts of reps are built to convince the establishment. Being bought and sold as imperceptibly genuine makes them part of the gen scene, not the rep scene.

Haven't tested it (yet) but my suggestion would be to give it an ultrasonic bath and then re-lube it with a product that promises to not attract gunk. Like the product in my sig.

Maybe it's best just not to have it. Card carrying members only for sales. I figure buying from members who've never given over any details to the forum (like PP deets), leaves the buyer with absolutely no recourse should something go wrong. So I avoid them anyway. It may encourage the non-upgraded to upgrade if they want to buy and sell.
