  1. Rest in peace Rose. Ken, my sincerest condolences to you and your family. Warm regards, Dan.
  2. No it doesn't slide right out. There is a spring bar in there you need to release before you cut the rubber. Slide the micro adjuster all the way out until it stops (about 3mm proud of the clasp) and use your spring bar tool.
  3. Wow, they sold out of the speedy again? I remember when i first joined this rep was unavailable. I got mine after a few months. It is incredibly accurate (i own a gen speedy pro). The only real fault is the happy feet and AR colour. Your post makes me want the tag too! Please post pics when you have it.
  4. I love the look (and green) of this watch. There is a rep, check page 2 of josh's new watches, but its missing the sunburst. Hope the 'ult' is forthcoming. hehe.
  5. Well, even though it's wednesday I'm happy to post here cos this one wont be leaving the wrist in a hurry: New gen beater:
  6. That's funny, My noobmariners were in the running but they pinch my arm hairs. I just find the dssd to be silky smooth and the clasp the right shape for my wrist. I think the smooth caseback helps too. I would agree with PeteM too. the non-tapered Pam steel is very comfy also. Though the newer tapered one's clasp is too curved for my wrist making it dig in a bit
  7. Hi, i'm interested in which rep you consider your most comfortable on a steel bracelet. You'd think accuracy would equal comfort but I've found that not to be true. For example, the UPO is very accurate but the rep is uncomfortable while the gen is a joy to wear in terms of comfort. So... On steel, whats your most comfortable rep to wear? I'll pick (surprisingly because of its bulk) the DSSD, cartel version. Pics please!
  8. Nice one! thanks. this post made me want to look up how to pronounce rattranpante... It's rah-trah-pon.
  9. Thanks for this tomhighway! You did what i was too lazy to My only note to add after comparing the v5 and the cartel with the gen (IRL of course), is that the lume in no way compares to the job Zig did on my Cartel. In fact, the Lume on the gen is so average, im not sure the rep needs a relume.
  10. Courtesy of the top bloke above me^ Thanks again mj!
  11. Hmm, dont want to threadjack, but I've been having having troubles on BB lately too. Particularly with viewing messages and the navigation layout. Was flawlessly awesome until about two weeks ago. Perhaps there's something wrong mobile browsing in general?
  12. Hi, i realise this may be unpopular here given the polularity of Trevor's (very nice btw) DSSD, but i have now owned every iteration since the cartel's v3 and the V5. I posted this somewhere else yesterday and thought it migh help here: Also of note is that the V5 is noticeably lighter in hand, but i think this is due to the bracelet alone (which cannot be replaced with the cartel's version) Also the Cartel's OGEV is never out of allignment (the contruction uses an allignment notch that is missing on the v5) and it's also possible to lower the height of the insert by simply removing it, and re-attaching using glue. No offense meant to anyone who prefers the V5, this is just my opinion based on owning them all and time spent with the gen.
  13. Out of interest, if not too rude, can i ask how big your wrist is?
  14. hehe, the last two times i changed mine (both Futurama) was because new members appropriated them. I know they appropriated them from me because the were both cropped or altered by me from the original versions found at google.
  15. I was going to post the Aussie bulit Holden Monaro (late 60's early 70's muscle car - the reiteration of which was exported to the US and sold as the new GTO), but dicovered that they are now selling for 220-240g's. So, hardly affordable. Great car though. worth a google if you like classic V8's
  16. I just love Futurama. Like a good book I can re-watch the series every year and still enjoy it. For those who've never indulged - No, its nothing like the Simpsons. It full of geek humor and math jokes (yep, math jokes). My nick has nothing to do with it. It's an old handle from the console hacking world. Had i have known what i know now when i signed up here about this place and hobby (and that i was going to stay) I would have chosen something more suitable for here. "Do my eyes believe me?" "That's whatever you were talking about for you" "Full price for gum? That dog won't hunt Monsignor"
  17. Sounds pretty cool. I had a bit of a google but couldn't find anything. Hope somone here knows about it. I'd really like to see it
  18. Hi, i think yr talking about the lim.ed. one with two subdials (not repped)? I've only ever seen seen this in japan. I think you need to google SOHC '125' or '125th'.
  19. Wow, I can't believe they want $999RRP for that black invicta quartz. The sale price of 150 seems much more like it.
  20. Yeh, saw these. Can't comment on accuracy, but they sure do look pretty! And the xtal appears to be sapphire too.
  21. Thanks for the tip off! I'll be sure to mention this to both the Authorised Tag Heuer Dealers who i've seen stocking this fantasy model. In actual fact, there is no PVD version, and no white dialed version (those reps are fantasy's). There were 6000 Calibre 1's made by Tag Heuer and they all look a lot like the rep in this review.
  22. All i did to mine was have Zig service and relume the dial and pearl (he also kindly straightened the bezel for me). Good enough for me! (and I own gen Omega to compare)
  23. I'll add Getat's Homages to this list. Link
