  1. A couple weeks ago I browsed into a jewellery shop. They do sell watches but mostly trade in jewellery and jewellery boxes etc. ("Bevilles" for any Aussies reading). I was looking for a watch box. The pimply kid said "man, nice submariner, is it treating you well" (that's verbatim). I glanced at the gen speedy moon on my wrist, then back to the pimples, and said: "yep great thanks"... Anti-reverso-switcheroo AD n00bfoolery.
  2. Thanks for the blow by blow ajminla, I hope you continue to keep us updated! Hows yours coming along Lani? Also a question... does anyone know if the older Ultimate (pre 316F/3135) pearl "cup" fit in this new bezel? Mines with The Zigmeister ATM and will be a little bummed if it doesn't. Would love to see some more progress pics guys!
  3. Yep, they are, it lists the part number for the bezel you're modding. The page also says allow 5 days after ordering for modding and fitting...
  4. The "correct 10" version is out... See it here Kinda bummed as I just sent my older Ultimate version to The Zigmeister...
  5. You can buy the correct rep leather strap (and both colour rubber straps as well) from our dealers. I've got one coming even though I've heard the rep leather straps are, umm, crap.
  6. You nabbed this eh? I saw it on WUS. Congrats, she's a beaut!
  7. Got it from Josh (His code: BLSF10004, upgraded with the 2836-2 ETA) . Yesterday was a big party for our national day - Australia Day. So it passed through about 20 sets of hands and everyone who saw it was super impressed. In fact my Omega tragic mate refused to believe it was a rep.
  8. I'm calling this my best rep. Could be just luck on this particular piece, but this example is very good. Besides having better than average lume; all markers, bezel, print, stamping and etc. are all perfectly aligned and straight. Besides the awesome QC qual - its a bloody lovely piece. I do actually want the gen of this, but with an authentic ETA inside and given the details above, I'm not sure I will need the gen. I'm very VERY impressed by it:
  9. Well it's a bit strange, The clasp has a screw head at each end on the pin, but i think its dummied up as they doesn't seem to unscrew... Here's a quick length pic, it's set on the smallest guage on the clasp (which only has about 10mm's play) Edit: I have contacted both the mesh supplier links above and they are both discontinued. Well maybe strapcode will do them again, they said: "Sorry, this is temporary discontinued, please consider other available models, thanks!"
  10. Here are some pics of the mesh, lemme know if you want to see anything specifically... Engraving looks better than these in the flesh, light was a bit dodgy..
  11. Nice one Mike! Jealous... Anyway the strap arrived yest, and it is BIG. While it looks the part and is very well made, as menttioned above, only the buckle adjusts (about 10mm). With a 7.5in wrist at the smaller setting, it's just short of wrapping around my wrist without watch. Given that the watch head is 50mm, you will actually need a 8.5 to 9inch wrist to wear it! I'm in talks with Josh about about a smaller one. I'm still happy to take shot shots if peeps are interested... Dan Edit: oh, and the watch itself is spectacular for a rep. Amazingly well put together. Not sure if got lucky, but everying is straight, neat and spot on. I'm going to have to call it my rep of the year! The watch design itself is beautiful and i'm considering the gen.
  12. Ditto. Would like to hassle my dealer for ETA again, but I've asked too many times already. Heheh.
  13. Hey, I've emailed a friend who is closest, will PM you the response. Interestingly, I did some research for myself while I was at it and found this and this. They state the price and shipping cost for overseas buyers, but leave me skeptical. I will be there in March and Shibuya is a very cool part of town that I'll almost certainly visit should all else fail.
  14. I may be able to have a friend help, depending on the whereabouts, or do it myself if you can wait till my next visit in march (lol). But what exactly is problem? There's certainly no problem shipping Jap to Aus or vice-versa. Is it seller requisite or language problem? Might be better to post here rather than PM in case someone else can help...
  15. Ahh, that is interesting! The gen pics (i dint find any like this wjile googling) actually make me feel happier about the rep bracelet purchase they show that the rep mesh style is closer than I thought. Frankly the links would only matter on a bigger wrist than mine if the 7in thing is correct so... Oh, and thanks Ronin, info in WC much appreciated and helpful
  16. Sorry. It DP'd when editing original post! o_0
  17. No probs, and this inspired me to measure my wrist for the first time ever, 7.5in. So hopefully its good to go. As mentioned^^ one of the crits in the other thread (the v1 vs v2 comparison thread) was that the gen strap has a link contruction, where this doesn't. Given that, i can't image it would be easy to shorten... Anyway, it has left GZ, so normally it will clear Sydney customs Monday and be on my wrist Tuesday. Two days from now, as its sunday here. Keep ya posted! Oh, and please see my question about yr Seiko in todays wristy. Edit: actually tues is a public holiday here, so make that^ Wednesday.
  18. Hey Ronin, think I may have mentioned this before, but I love that watch and am havingi trouble finding one (even with two weeks in Tokyo recently). Can you tell me; is it Japanese built?
  19. Hi, I've purchased it (and the black SOH) but haven't recieved yet. Someone mentioned in another thread that it doesn't seem the same construction, and the mesh isn't as fine as the real deal. It will arrive in two or three days now, unless someone beats me to it i'll post some pics!
  20. Hi, have a look at This link Peroxide solution and sun. People use it on white rubber g-shocks to remove ingrained staining and discolouration with great success! Some pretty impressive results...
