  1. MX- That could very well be the case indeed!
  2. That was a really fast 1000 posts there, deniz! Congrats and here's to the next 1k!
  3. Okay, RWG... Need your input on this one Prior to the crystal and bezel swap, I preferred this one on the grey G10... But now, I'm almost thinking I prefer the Oyster afterall Thoughts or opinions?
  4. If you want these, let me know. I'll drop them in the mail...
  5. I give up... I don't know how many times it has to be explained. Go ahead and buy it. Buy it and if it fits, great. If not... Well, I tried...
  6. That's a beauty, S! Tastey piece made only better by your great photos! I especially love the kev strap...
  7. 2783 and 2784 are physically the same; diameter (11.5L), height/profile (5.35mm), pinion sizes and dial feet position are all the same. The only real difference is the beat rate. 2783 beats at 21,600bph and 2784 beats at 28,800bph. In addition, 2783 is offered in 17, 21 and 25 jewel variations. 2784 is 17 and 25 jewel only...
  8. Ehhh... I have a very small collection of watches now. 10 or so in the collection and I think I may try trimming that number down to 8. More than anything, my collection seems to be more top heavy in parts than watches these days...
  9. Steer clear of the junk being sold by wholesaleoutlet990...
  10. BTW... Brushed, silver DW's... Serif'd fonts... Oh, and 2783...
  11. Ehhh... I hate to be the one to put you off on it, but I've been of the understanding that the Asian GMTs are rather hit or miss (unless something in the desig has changed; I don't follow the GMT Rolex reps too closely). I do think that a standard time/date only model is the safer bet for longevity; fewer complications will only improve your odds. But, I could be completely off mark as well...
  12. Another option to at least consider... Nice case with that one...
  13. Agree. The theme for the Heritage is correlated with Motorsports, and I'd interpret both subjects as being aimed more towards the connoisseurs...
  14. One thing I forgot to mention; if you do opt to go with the MBW case, you'll need to mod the case slightly. Lugs need to be drilled to accept gen springbars and the CG's will need to be shaped for best results. Granted, the Yuki case could probably benefit a bit from CG shaping as well... $700 for a case, dial, hands, Tudor rotor and gen crown and tube is actually not terribly bad. Just add a movement. If you are using a Yuki supplied case, and they are able to provide you with a blue insert of the same quality as their black 5513/1680/1665 insert, you'll be in good shape.
  15. Ehhhh... To avoid disappointment, I think I'd opt for a non-GMT in Asian form for a Rolex rep. I don't think they're very reliable...
  16. Thanks, Red. I am contemplating whether or not I want to tweak the crown guards a slight bit. I am leaning towards not, as I really like the squared, boxed in look that they give the crown. Not 100% correct with regards to aesthetics compared to gen, but I'm finding this as one of those situations where personal preference may trump accuracy of detail...
  17. I'll try to snap some pics. They're just your standard, run of the mill 7750 hands for a 116520 rep...
  18. After the modifications made thus far, this has quickly become a favorite in my collection...
  19. Kent- The gen dial is in fact 26mm; based on your pic, it looks legit.
  20. The source from which I purchased on his behalf is one that I trust as a reliable dealer of vintage Rolex and Tudors. Conversely, I have NEVER seen nor heard of a 9411 with a 2824; I would be even more skeptical of that configuration. 79090, yes, but 9411/0, no. I was once of the opinion of '2784 ONLY', until I saw for myself a 100% genuine, with provenance 9411/0 with a 2783 under it's caseback.
  21. I just ruffled through my parts and found a set of hour/min/center sec hands for a 7750 Daytona (no subdial hands though). Not sure if they are of any use to you or not...
  22. 934XXX, which I believe places this thing around '78, I think? I'll need to ask him if he's ever sent it into any of the RSC's for service (it was probably due when I passed it on to his possession). But it definitely had a 2783 in it. Maybe I can even get him to register and post here (he's not a rep guy, and he's not even an Internet forum kind of guy)...
