  1. Is it a large bottle of Lewis Hamilton cologne?
  2. @pho- Sounds like somebody's smitten! So, is this a watch that you would eventually consider buying a gen of? While it would be nice to have a full collection of every rep dial/bezel variation out there, I'd think it would also be nice to have a gen amongst that collection as well?
  3. While I love the 029 and find the tux dial to be my aesthetic preference between the two, I think the 063 is actually the better choice as the 029 bezel has the 24hr markers engraved just ever so slightly off from my understanding? I could very well be mistaken, but I seem to recall that being one of the issues with the 029 that is't easily fixed...
  4. Yessir- Same Jimmy case and set up in the pics; only difference is the crystal. The new sapphire is an old rep crystal I had in the parts bin; I stripped off the lite AR, and pressed it in. Looks pretty decent, though I'm going to give the inner surface another polish. Interesting to see the changes a crystal can make...
  5. Wow! Looks great! So, when are you going to start taking work requests for these?
  6. My white dial 16520 has a tritium dial from 1997- Still glows, albeit a little faint. In fact, my original Snowflake dial from the late 70's still glows for that matter...
  7. I've always enjoyed collecting things in general; my personal philosophy is to keep things as tightly focused as possible, and to make all that I have worth keeping With regards to watches- I love to build, and that is the challenge for me. To build the best that I can and to see how close to gen one can achieve. I find that keeping the collection small allows me to give full attention and concentration on each project. It's been a fun hobby, and one that progresses every day with different challenges and new things to learn. Of course, the unexpected but greatest aspect to the hobby has been the friendships made here on the forum that goes far beyond watches.
  8. Hmmmm... I think Chad means a shallow rehaut like so? In my opinion, this is also an effect of crystal optics as well. I just recently switched to the sapphire as fitted in the pics above; prior to this, I had a different crystal fitted, and the effect was a taller rehaut:
  9. Jimmy cases and CG's are definitely on the list of those sought after items that have caused prices to escalate. All about supply and demand... And in retrospect, I wish I would have kept my PAM29/2893
  10. Thanks, gents The dial is rep, but pretty dang close to gen... Rep: Gen: Only real difference that I can tell from a quick look is that the number markers are a little further out from the square indicies. Aside from that, it's pretty close I think. Hands are rep as well and all is fitted to an ETA 2824-2 Bezel came with silver bezel screws; no plating here this time. The dial, hands and movement originally came in a case with gold/brass bezel screws. I would have used that case, except it wasn't quite finished completely; some metal flashings still left inside of the lug slots, which made the whole thing a write off @archimede- I wish this case was constructed like gen, but unfortunately, it's not. The bezel is friction fit to the case; this one would be even nicer if it had the sandwich design Thanks for looking! Cheers, //ubi
  11. Some beauties, for sure! What's interesting is that parts I and II are still likely not even scratching the surface
  12. Great pics! Beautiful watch... Looks like $120 well spent
  13. My well wishes and thoughts for you, Rob. You'll kick this... You're too strong not to. All the best...
  14. Double winding? Is this maybe a double barrel configuration? Seems unlikely... But who knows?
  15. I've had luck with either registered mail, or EMS (but EMS isn't always the economical choice)...
  16. If anyone knows lume, it's the Zigmeister.
  17. Just a few pics of my ongoing long term challenge/build... My bezel and case that I recently refinished: And assembled: I need to figure out a better solution for the bracelet. Unfortunately, the one fitted doesn't meet up with the lug holes too well; I'd like to get one that fits a bit snugger/flusher in the slots.
  18. That's been the standpoint I've always taken with reps; all you need is a good case. Things like dials, movements, etc. can be found elsewhere to build to suit.
  19. Franken Daytona 16520 for Weds: Franken PO 42mm for Thurs:
