  1. Maybe DSN? He'll at least sell parts a la carte. Worth a try...
  2. NOS, baby! Just a few slight desk diving swirls!
  3. Hey Maciek, I ended up taking it apart to try and refinish it, but never got around to it. Since the RO has a very particular finish with crisp edges and transitions, I felt it better that I leave it be. One of these days, I hope to find someone that specializes in case finishing and go from there...
  4. Ever have a piece that you once had, sold and have regretted since? I do... And it's a Royal Oak Back in 2005, I picked up a great 36mm Nick Faldo Royal Oak from River; a beautiful piece and one that I would later find to haunt my dreams and thoughts, as it's one that I let get away. If I've regretted the sale of any of my watches, this one would be at the top of that list. *sigh*
  5. Yeah... Those blue inserts are ridiculously high! For that one, I probably would advise using a CWP part, as their inserts are well done. Just pop their acrylic pearl out and fit a gen pearl. Sufficient to get you by until a good one pops up at a reasonable price. As for the hands- I had a set of CWP's hands come in and they just didn't cut it. The hour hand is mishapen at the diamond, the minute hand is too wide and the seconds hand is too thick, the wrong shape and the back end tail is just too short. Gen is definitely the way to go on the hands, especially if you are using a nice gen dial! The last few that I've seen were within reason- $250 for SL and $340 for a set of cream colored tritium (one small minor crack in the minute). I can see if they are still available if you'd like?
  6. You dirty birdie! Your mind is in the gutter, Dani... But mine is as well for knowing what you were implying Excellent work, as per usual, Francisco! I would imagine that the varnish would also help protect the decal when cleaning the plates during a servicing as well, right? Therefore, no need to have to redo the decal after a bath in the cleaner during overhaul?
  7. I wouldn't bother with the CWP's or Yuki hands... Stick with gen
  8. Looks like it has potential, but it's not quite there yet...
  9. F333- Give this a try- Put your Canon glass back on, and hold your Zeiss lens to the Canon lens inverted. This should allow you the ability to take some close macros as per Pugs' tutorial. This method produces some crazy shallow DoF and vignetting, but you can get some sharp detail as well.
  10. 2783 hand sizes are 90/150/25.
  11. I may be one of the few to not have one
  12. 16520 Daytona ------ Michael Kors Metal Button shirt ------ Diesel Zathan 86T Lab: 391 Ca: 2005
  13. A legend in his own time... A very sad day indeed.
  14. Mrs. Ubi would not be amused! I might end up with one of these...
  15. After seeing Pugs' pic above... I've realized that I need to get a decent zoom lens as well...
  16. It's a great piece, and I'd absolutely consider it... But since we spoke yesterday, I think I have come to the conclusion that domed is the way to go Of course, I'm sure that when the right one turns up, I won't be ready to buy...
  17. Today's a 16520 day... Fri will be a PO day...
  18. No problems with the 8500 that I am aware of The 2500's had the beat downshifted because of concerns with the sliding friction of the escapement coupled with the higher 28800bph rate, I believe... Or, that was George Daniel's concern, I think.
