Your business colleague must have the mentality of a 10 year old, or he simply doesn't have any manners or sense of professionalism. His actions are what I would expect of a child... Or his life is so pathetic and sad that his only means of satisfaction is to announce to the world how superior and great he is for owning a gen (to which the rest of the world probably wouldn't give a rat's ass about anyways).

The 4th generation is such a great platform for building with gen parts. It's a fun piece to work on, and not difficult to mod at all. I hope you're willing to give it a go, as the experience in building makes the final end product so much more rewarding in the end.

My understanding was that the higher beat rate raised a problem with the sliding friction at the escapement. By de-tuning to a slightly slower rate, the problem was less prevalent.

You'd think 2 barrels would give a little more than 60 hrs of reserve, no?

You do know that many of the higher end in house movements run at slower a/h rates, right? e.g. Many of Patek's movements, Audemars Piguet, etc run at 21600bph...

I just treat my Rebel EOS like a P&S. Set the little dial thingy to the action setting, slap the macro lens on, adjust to focus and shoot. I have no idea what settings/fstop/aperture and whatever else I use... But pics turn out okay, I think?

Not a very accurate watch, unfortunately. The gen is a 40mm case, whereas the rep is 42mm I believe. Also, the gen uses the F.Piguet 1185 as the basis for the AP 2385, which has the subdials closer together and with running seconds at 6:00 (external differences); the actual movement itself is quite different from the V7750. All in all, a decent rep, but not very true to it's gen counterpart...

The other sites must be resizing the pic automatically when uploading. Try a hosting site like Photobucket; they'll automatically resize your pic for you as well to keep file sizes down. Otherwise, you'll need a 3rd party application to edit your pics...

It will depend on the case. A DSN dial will likely be too big if you're using a case like a Jimmy; you may need to trim the dial down in order to ensure correct fit. Only way to know for sure is to drop the existing dial/movement out of the case and try fitting the new dial in the case. If it seats against the rehaut lip, you should be good to go.

Arch- I think a conf call with kruzer is due for this week, yes? As an aside... I put in my order for a custom watch from Tourby for my Birthday. I had been eyeing it from afar for long enough; this was the perfect opportunity to pick one up.

a 22mm G10 on a 3717 will fit. Personally, I wasn't very fond of the look, but it could just be the color of the strap I used... Black or grey might work better.
