  1. Stephane- The SRSD's originally came fitted with a caseback like this: The one in your pic is likely to be a service replacement, as most SRSD's were converted to DRSD's as part of their R&D process... P.S. @tr4- There is another way to I.D. this watch as an MBW, and that's to look at the engravings between the lugs at 12:00 and 6:00. I believe there are only a few different serials out there for the MBW; it should be possible to discern the origin of your's based on this characteristic as well.
  2. On my WM9, I had difficulty with fitting the gen insert; It just wouldn't snap into the bezel ring, and glue wasn't an option I'd consider. Therefore, I replaced the entire bezel assembly- From the retaining ring to the insert. I'm pleased to say that the gen parts fit with zero hassle, but it did require more parts than I thought it would to get this done. All said and done, the results have exceeded my expectations for this watch... YMMV.
  3. These new rep Subs require a year to build... Edit: At least they got the rehaut straight. No more wok...
  4. Looks interesting. But $8,888,888.00?!
  5. Consider that used crowns sell for $30 to $40-ish and aftermarket tubes sell in the $25 range...
  6. If these are 703's, and new/sealed in the pack, that is a great price for the combo. If that's $90 per piece, sealed in the blister packs, it's a fair price. If used, it seems a bit high.
  7. I love the content of the magazine, but those double fold out covers drive me nuts.
  8. One of my faves! Much love and respect for Sinn. Great watches and value, no question.
  9. Very cool looking project! Looking forward to seeing the completed watch with the insert installed; hopefully you find a grey one, as I think the final product will look great with that combo!
  10. Nothing new here... But a few that I've taken recently...
  11. I do think that some examples of M serials come with and some have not (with no real rhyme or reason), but the opinion seems split. A friend of mine had a choice between a Z and an M; the Z had the tool kit, but the M didn't; both from the same AD. He chose the M, BTW and it is his experience in which I based my prior post on. I also know that AD's sometimes have a tendancy to 'forget' certain items when handing over a watch during point of sale. My old director from a few years ago wasn't given his anchor when he bought his 16613 from B.Bridge and had to go back to ask for it after I inquired about it with him. They seem to hold the accessories separate from their watches due to the way they are rec'd...
  12. Should come with boxes, booklets and warranty plastic card; protective clear stickers on case/lugs/etc. No anchor, tools, hologram.
  13. BTW- Last MBW 1665 (GW) I owned had the same caseback as yours:
  14. BTW, best way to confirm is to pop the bezel off to expose the retaining ring underneath. Very easy to do; for a damage free method, use a credit or debit card to wedge between the bezel and case and give it a slight twist. Should pop right off. Be sure not to lose the bezel washer. Once the bezel assembly is confirmed, you can place the washer back on the retaining ring and snap the bezel back on with your thumbs. Very simple procedure. The bezel assembly should look like this, BTW (if it's an MBW):
  15. There are indeed MBK/MBW SRSD's. I've seen and handled quite a few.
  16. Looks like an MBK to me. Unfortunately, the MBK SRSD's are not very close to their gen counterpart; the early 1665's (including and specfically speaking on the SRSD) had some very specific details that keep them easily identified if you know what to look for: -DATE printed on the Oyster Perpetual specific to the SRSD -Thin case -Some do and some don't have the HEV -Caseback engravings are completely different for the SRSD Probably best to see if Chris will sort you out for the DRSD... Hope this helps! Cheers, R
  17. Somehow, I doubt that you're kidding. Maybe.
  18. This one is shaping up quite nicely! Looking forward to seeing the finished product, chief!
  19. Ooooh... Box, papers, good to 300m, loose ends and lug holes. I'm lovin it, Stephane!
  20. It's interesting to take a look back and observe the progression/evolution of such subjects like a modern 16610; funny to think that there are so many variations of the same watch, which, for 2 decades has gone largely unchanged (speaking in terms of the gen), and to then consider how long it's taken to get the rep even close to on the right track. Also a bit interesting to see how popular the Submariner is... To know that even with countless renderings of the same watch, the factories still view it as profitable to continue redesigning and reproducing the same basic Sub.
  21. Yes indeed! Not for the feint of heart... Or those without a lathe!
  22. I won't be loosing any sleep over it. Afterall, the rest of my PAM project won't be gen either.
