  1. Man, that is like pouring salt into a wound! I think I kick myself the most over that one... If there was one watch I miss the most, it would be that one. I wish they could re-introduce this one back into production....
  2. While some have not had any issues with receiving multiple watches at once (myself included, though my max is two (2) per order), having 5 - 6 watches of high profile branding in a single parcel may raise some red flags. With that said... It's a risk. Especially if you're trying to avoid paying duties on those items. However, problems can arise even with a single watch. I would think that the manner in which your collector sends their parcels may make a difference in the matter. If they have experience in this area, that would be of benefit.
  3. Can frankens really be considered rare reps? I feel that since they're not exactly a production item, it's not exactly fair to categorize them in the same sense of distinction... A few of my personal favorites that I've built, owned or have owned, etc... 16520's with El Primero 400s DW 6263 franken with Swiss V23 transplanted FrankenDJ built from a genuine case, dial and ETA Franken Tudor built from an old 1680 Franken Radiomir built from an old 183 case and watchmaster dial A very old self made PAM4; PVD work from IWW with a nice Dirk fitted An old TW Best Omega Constellation with skeletonized ETA 2892 'Old Factory' Ti Seawolf with 2824 and genuine dial installed And, perhaps the 'rarest' of the frankens? Might not see another one of these (but for good reason ) I've built a number of others, but these seem to be the ones that stand out most to my recollection. Some of those have gone on to other homes... I miss them (and oft times wish I didn't let them go). Have some more projects for '08; some are near completion and some are still in conception. Enough to keep me busy for a few months...
  4. I keep my valued items and important documents in a safe deposit box, away from the house. It's a minimal cost per year, and worth it for the peace of mind (in my opinion)...
  5. I tend to carry no more than 10 watches in the collection at any given time (though that number typically creeps up to 12 or 13) and wear 3 or 4 of those watches regularly. If I make a new acquisition, I'll usually rotate my stock a bit by giving an old watch to a friend (or sometimes even selling a watch off).
  6. The 116520 in the pics is genuine, though there's no guarantee that this seller actually has the item he's selling.
  7. Unreal! That is one monster of a watch. When you told me about this one on Friday, I wasn't expecting anything like this! That crystal is out of this world!
  8. Jacob & Co. seems very plausable. I doubt it's a Patek. Patek doesn't make anything that large. They tend to stay on the very conservative side with regards to case sizes.
  9. I've been sighted by a few of you....
  10. No idea, really. I simply want one as a novelty to sit with my other Daytonas. These 'RELAX' watches are clearly a joke (pun intended), and I think that's the appeal (at least to me)...
  11. Excessive? Not in the least. Certainly not from my perspective! Looking forward to seeing the finished product! 6239 will be a nice rarity in a sea of 6263/5's!
  12. Very nice, T. So, how many v72 Daytonas does this make for you now?
  13. I love mine dearly. One of my favorite out of the box reps! Black dial, dotted chapter MBK: Blue dial, linked chapter MBK: And another GG favorite... MBK Royal Oak Jumbo:
  14. It's a bit of a rare day when a rep gets my attention; and it's an even rarer day when I start anticipating the announcement of a certain model due to be released soon (at least I hope). So, with that said, does anyone have any insight as to when the Graham Swordfish is going to be released? I've seen some teasers here and there that seem to indicate that this watch will be out on the markets soon. With the incredible detail and build quality of the Graham Chronofighter, I certainly hope that the Swordfish is of the same caliber. Anyone else anxious for this bizarre and unusual watch?
  15. I'm sure contracting a project like this is possible, but you'll most likely need to commit to xxxx number of units of production to get something like this off the ground, or have access to the tooling and machining equipment to do the work yourself. Not impossible, but could become a bit pricey to coordinate all the components for a finished product.
  16. For the watches I keep at the house, I use a cheapo Acetimer box: However, I also keep my Daytonas and SM300 in a safety deposit box at the bank for most of the time; for those, I use a custom made box:
  17. Oh my. This one's a beauty, Rob! I'm glad I could contribute towards your project! It's funny how things like this can come together That's a definite keeper!! I love the color match with the hands!
  18. I've had a couple of PMs sent to me (as well as some folks posting public) demanding that I help with their problems. If someone asks me for some help, and includes the magic words (please and thank you), I have absolutely no problem with sharing my time, knowledge or in some cases, even parts (for no cost). But in no means am I *required* to share with anyone. Those are the folks that I ignore.
