  1. I love mine. Very nice quality, especially for the money!
  2. Jet- That's one NICE 1680 if I do say so myself! Any pics with the T-19? chief- The franken 16610 is looking good! Does it get much wrist time these days? manuel- GREAT looking vintage EP!! I was looking for one of those recently, but haven't found any within a reasonable price range. Used to be, those could be found for around $1500 or so... Seems they've near doubled! dluddy- Just so happens I wore mine today, too!
  3. Did I mention that the folks on this forum have exquisite taste?? Very nice trio!!
  4. Nice 6239, f333!! Something tells me you've been very busy these last few months... Lots of nice frankens I see Speaking of vintage Daytonas... I still have mine, somewhere... V23 powered, though... But in a nice v1.0 DW case...
  5. Thanks for the warm reception, everyone! You guys are the best Bazz and Stephane- The MBK Nautilus remains to be my no. 1 daily wearer! It's by far one of my favorites, and a very versatile piece. Very easy to wear; I oft times forget I even have it on my wrist The Daytonas come out on occassion, but usually await patiently in a secure location. The last watch I recall buying was this guy: A fantastic watch for the money, though I rarely find the right opportunity to wear it; my daily wear tends to run a bit more casual to do the watch any sort of justice, so it sits in the box at 10:10 and just looks pretty. So... As far as new releases go, what have I missed? I think I've seen the new Porsche Design, the new DeWitt, the Baume Riviera... And I think that's about it really. Seems to be a bit dry as of late....?
  6. Hey gang, First and foremost, it's GREAT to see everyone! It's been a long time; I hope that the Holidays were Merry for all. While my break from RWG was nice (and admittedly, a bit necessary), I've missed my friends. It's nice to be back Great watches, all around! I see a lot of old classics, but I also spy a few new designs and releases as well. I've not purchased anything new for myself in many months; I've only managed to finish up a couple of projects and the like, but nothing of significant mention. I may be pestering kruz a bit for some motivation (and maybe some bits and pieces) for a project, though we'll see... Did I mention that I missed this place?
  7. Based on the dial, I'd say between 95 and '99.5.
  8. There are two ways to adjust- 1) You can do large adjustment via link removal at the clasp ends. I find that a 1.5mm screwdriver works well here; you don't want too large of a blade and you definitely don't want too small either (worse). 2) You can do micro adjustment at the clasp itself. There are a series of small holes on the side of the clasp in which the last link is connected via a small spring bar. Moving that springbar/link within those holes will net a small fine adjustment to suit a more snug or loose fit. You can use a pointed tool for this operation; I myself use a very basic and barbaric push pin tool for this operation. Best of luck. R
  9. Back from an extended hiatus. I heard through the grape vine that a couple of dear friends of mine happened to find themselves in moderator roles, so I thought I'd come and stir up some trouble (congrats, I think, Big D and kruz! ) Not to stray off topic, mid week wrist wear consists of the 16520 pair. Been a while since these have seen daylight, so I thought I'd give them a little air and a bit of wrist time: So, what's new around here these days? Have I missed any major dramas, the coming of Christ, or... *gasp* has the perfect Sub been debuted??? All the best, R
  10. Fairly easy fix. You'll have to remove the plate cover to the keyless works. Bazz did a phenominal tutorial on how to do this... If you have patience and the tools, you can do this job!
  11. Cool stuff, Pho! What's even neater... Depending on your taste, you can even wear this one a la destro if desired!
  12. Great 29, W! Seeing yours makes me want to kick myself for selling mine!
  13. Yeah... I know. I'm an a-hole
  14. To wind down the weekend... I'll give my frankensteins some wrist time before I put them back into the safety deposit box...
  15. My usual daily wear for me for the last few weeks... Simply brings a smile to my face everytime I look at it...
  16. If you are unable to fix it, you can send it to me to have a look. I'd be happy to help gratis...
  17. During my brief hiatus from RWG, I took a few late night hours to perform a new mod on my Royal Oak Jumbo- Specifically a modification to cleanly remove the seconds hand from the equation. Here's how the watch looks as-is out of the box: If you'll notice, yes, there is no sweep center seconds present. However, upon closer inspection, the way this was acheived was by cutting the seconds hand down to just the center post. This is most apparent in the last of the three pics posted above. So, here's the corrected updated version- Basically an entire new minutes pinion specifically for a non-center seconds set up. Please excuse the poor pics: The only thing I'm waiting to do now is to add a nicer set of hands, which are currently being re-lumed in the correct color by our resident expert ziggy Conclusion: It's still not an exact 1:1 appearance as the genuine AP 2121, as the minute pinion on those is much smaller in diameter. But to me, this appears to be a much cleaner fix than the cut seconds hand solution Also... I have yet to do this mod on my Nautilus. The case construction and removing the movement to do the work is not high of my list of priorities All the best... Randy
  18. Yes- One could fit a genuine crown... With the addition of a genuine or aftermarket genuine spec tube... Same can be said for a genuine insert with a bit of work...
  19. Wow, oh wow... First, let me start by apologizing. Things here have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks, and I haven't had much time to log in and visit (last night was the first time I had logged in in quite a while, and I was having trouble accessing posts with the dreaded 'IPS Driver' errors). Thank you all for the very warm wishes and kind words! As always, they are very much appreciated! Happy belated birthday to Miss Barrett as well I hope this special day has treated you well! I would also like to say that I have missed my friends here very much... A day without RWG is like a day without sunshine. I hope to be visiting a little more frequently in the next few days... All the best and thank you all once again! Kindest regards, R
  20. Laz- Don't worry about compromising the water resistance by opening the case- It should be fairly simple to retain the level of water resistance with proper lubrication to the caseback gasket, which any good watchmaker or service shop can do. This can be confirmed with a pressure test after the caseback is re-tightened, just to make sure...
  21. We're all in this hobby for different reasons. There are a number of members present who collect both reps and gens. Or who start with reps and then move onto gens. So, I disagree- I think that people who buy reps could absolutely be in the same market for the originals as well.
  22. Clutch the crown at the base where it mates with the stem, and use this point to unthread from the stem.
  23. Typically, my projects begin new lives... But not as new watches
