  1. D- I never get tired of seeing that one! I love the contrast of the new strap with the case/buckle. Absolutely gorgeous!
  2. POSTWHORE!! *cough* *cough* Only kidding, pal. Congrats, big M!! You're 10% of the way to hitting 100k!!
  3. Heh heh.... Thanks, R11co and pho; yes indeed, quite a lot has changed since I last visited; besides the new look and feel of RWG, I notice there are quite a few new faces as well While I'm glad to see the forum growing, it's also nice to see some old familiar faces as well... Cheers! R
  4. Oh yeah... Forgot to mention... Today's wrist wear... Sat:
  5. Sorry guys; this one lost momentum and fell apart. I can try to revisit, but am not sure it will come to fruition at this time
  6. A ha! Thanks for the quick answer, B! Much obliged kind sir
  7. What the heck are these ZING and gold star thingys I see appended to the bottom of some posts? I'm sure there's an explanation somewhere... But I figure it's prolly easier and quicker to ask. BTW, who sells the best Sub?
  8. My most undervalued, yet loved piece... My MBK Nauti Jumbo... For the record, the new 5711/A does have an MSRP of $19k (up from $17k in 2007), yet the laws of supply and demand have pushed the actual asking price up to $25k - $30k. Prices for 5712 and 5890's have risen x2 - 2.5x MSRP.
  9. Scoobs- The top two pair are Seven For All Mankind; the last pair posted are Diesels (both brands can be found at Nordstroms). These are the three that I wear most.
  10. Starting this one off a bit early... But what the hey. A little overlap never hurt anyone, right? Wrist wear for Weds the 13th... Thursday and Friday are still undecided...
  11. Denim is one of my weaknesses. When I'm not looking at watches, I'm looking at jeans. $200-ish seems to be my median that I'm willing to spend, which I don't think is too ridiculous. My co-workers can't fathom the idea of spending more than $30 for a pair of jeans, but then again, I can't see spending as much as they do for some of their hobbies either A few of my favorites that I wear regularly: My only gripe is that I always have to have my jeans tailored. Another $20 or so to have a tricky hem...
  12. Starting off the week with one of my favorites... For Tuesday, I think I'll go vintage...
  13. Some of the RSC's here have already stopped servicing 15xx movements. There are a select few who will, but you have to be on the 'A' list for that kind of treatment.... Rolex would prefer you buy something out of their 2008 catalog instead of servicing a 30 - 40yr old watch. Oh, and speaking on Superdomes... Yeah, pricing is closer to $250 these days. They were at one point higher, but with more in circulation, that price seems to have adjusted down.
  14. mezz- It's all about what the market will bear for items that in general have limited availability/supply. In the US, the parts don't flow quite as easily as other regions of the globe due to RSC policies, which differ by region. Also consider that an AD that doesn't adhere to these policies (say in the EU) will typically not sell parts to just anybody that drops in who asks to buy (i.e. one would usually have to present a watch, s/n, and/or other proof of ownership to gain this access). Add in the fact that the dollar is not as strong as, say the Euro or GBP; prices in U.S. terms have to be adjusted to stay competitive. Just my perspective...
  15. ratch- I absolutely Googles teh Interwebs, but only when the Internet tubes aren't clogged with enormous amounts of material!
  16. I've seen it; it's interesting, and it makes you think, but a lot of it is conspiracy theory stuff. Not sure how much I buy into some of it (though it's interesting how they tie the religion/astrology bit together)...
  17. D- I had a look around and came up with these two casebacks; the one on the left is from a 1655 rep (at least, that's what's stamped inside) and has a slightly domed back. The one on the left is from a 16610 rep, and has the bevel that you are wanting to eliminate. I don't think either of these are going to work for what you want to achieve (and there's no guarantee that they'd even fit for that matter)...
  18. Steve, Thanks for the very kind words Man... It's been a very long time since I built that FrankenJust. I think about that particular watch often; it was a fun build. I do miss it at times, though knowing that it's on my father's wrist is comforting. If I can help in any way, just holler...
  19. As for rings, I only wear my wedding band. Very simple band made of platinum. Goes well with my white metal watches
