  1. Very nice, big G! Looks great! Regards from my pair of Dayto's... They're both taking a day off in the watch box today...
  2. Gorgeous!! Looking forward to seeing this one next week!
  3. Happy be-lated birthday, Bob!! All the best... Cheers! R
  4. Big Pilots are indeed gorgeous watches... But if there was ever one watch that I was absolutely in love with, I'd say it has to be this vintage 1932 Pilot that Wadan has... Wadan's vintage Pilot... Some of his pics... This watch has haunted my dreams since seeing it...
  5. Man... Yes... I am blushing here... And I am without words. You guys have seriously made my week... No... Made my month. Thank you! I must admit... Even when I try to distance myself from RWG, I simply cannot. I miss my pals ff- With the new 1911 BTR on your wrist, would the Omega skeleton even get any wrist time??
  6. Man... you guys are nuts W(ho)TF is this Ubi fellow?! Seriously... Thanks for the kind words, but certainly not necessary
  7. Hey gang... Will be offline for a few while I take care of some other stuff... Those of you who need to get ahold of me know where you can reach me Ciao...
  8. That's simply not a relume job... That's art work! Amazing results... Everytime I see a Ziggy lume, I am blown away...
  9. I'll second 10,000 Maniacs Unplugged. Great album. Also really enjoy Eric Clapton Unplugged... Slow Hand... One of my favorites...
  10. Hmmmm... Very interesting. For what it's worth... The TTK 1655 looks to have the more correct dimensions at the dial/crystal/bezel, as the genuine dial/crystal are about 1mm larger than that of a 1680 or 1665. Will a genuine crystal fit? My guess is... Probably not. If this is anything like the vintage 1675 MBW rep (which also uses a modern GMT case), the crystal is actually pressed/seated inside the case lip, as opposed to fitting over the lip a la 1680/1665. So, I'd say that a gen 116 probably will not fit (though seeing the watch with the bezel removed will help answer that). As for the movement... Fitting a gen 1575 might be doable- Like the MBW 1665, it probably requires a little internal milling to get things to line up correctly. As for drilling the lug holes... I'd say that's doable as long as the right equipment is used (i.e. drill press with the right bits). You may want to check with Ziggy as I believe he is set up to do the job right All in all, this could be the basis of a very nice project watch...
  11. I'm not sure that one could get the right amount of leverage using two small screw drivers or toothpicks to tighten the screw. If the watch is a keeper piece for you guys, it might be a good idea to either buy the tool, or sacrifice a jeweler's or watchmaker's screwdriver by slotting it to make the right tool. The peace of mind in knowing you have the right tool to do the job would be worth it (at least, to me it would be)...
  12. That's a gen... I believe I may even know the owner of that one in particular...
  13. Hmmmm... I don't see a 16520 in TTK's PB account... Only a 116509 and 116520... Which item are you looking at?
  14. Good stuff indeed! I dig that 16710 GMT... Nice, straight looking rehaut on that one. What's inside, Neil? 2893?
  15. Looks GREAT!! A true masterpiece...
  16. Gen... Insert, clasp... All 100%.
  17. Oh, damn... Not even slightly convincing.
  18. Agree with Chief- Try adjusting at the clasp... Usually, with a standard non-diver's extension clasp, you can get a good 18mm - 20mm adjustment...
  19. Absolutely stunning! Your Pilot is the first watch to make my jaw drop in a very long time! To say I am smitten... Would be an understatement!
  20. Horizontal stripes do NOT have a slimming effect!
  21. Whoa!! Now THAT is a sweet watch, wadan! I dig it... Any more pics?
  22. The 114270 may indeed seem a bit small at 36mm- Especially with today's trends. Even compared to a 16610 Sub, it may seem small as the Sub will be a bit bigger- thicker, wider, heavier, etc. plus the poportions are different- Caseback sits different and the bezel is more substantial, all lending to a bigger 'feeling' watch. If you have a DJ or DD, I'd compare to one of those as it feels about the same with regards to wrist presence...
  23. One other thing to note about the SELs is how sharp and crisp the edges on the gen are 'cut'...
