Well, it's Springtime, and the weather here has been very seasonal; nice, sunny days with nice high temps. Perfect for... Allergies. My sinus allergies have been going nuts, and it also appears that my allergy for high nickel content has also been heating up. My Daytonas are both standard wear every day. And on one of them, I have a genuine 78390/503B bracelet, which also happens to be... 904L steel. Which also happens to have... Ugh... More nickel content. Which also happened to give me a nice little rash on my wrist So... For now, I have this red, itchy wrist, and my white dial 16520 with aftermarket hollow link bracelet on my right wrist... And the culprit.... Now, if you'll excuse me for a moment, it's sleepy time here at my office desk... I feel the Benadryl taking over... ZzzZZZZzzzzZZZzz...

Andreww- Just for a bit of background on the watch (more specifically, the dial)... This was originally a 1019 Mil from EL (with the black dial). I had commissioned the dial that's on the watch currently from CWP- I had specified vertical brushing, but for some reason, they did radial/sunburst instead. The markers are a bit short, but overall it's still a very neat dial. I still have the original matte black dial in one of my parts boxes... If you want it, I can send it your way (when I find it).

Love the 6263... But I must also admit that my DW has taken the back seat to the El Primeros... Still, one of my favorite pieces though...

All of the ETA 2846's I've had were quick setters, non hack So, to my knowledge, there are only 2; hack and non-hack with both being QS. It's the genuine 1570's that were slow set. And the early ones were also non-hack...

Looks great, Tribal! You know... The flat top 3's are infamous for the vintage Dates, but personally, I think my favorite number is '2'... The 3's are great, but there's just something so old shool about the 2's... Indeed, Arch... Seeing pics like this definitely makes it all worth the time and effort...

Very, very nice! The 6263 has always been a classic in my book. Very simple aesthetics, and the dials (both PN and standard) had the perfect blend of contrast and balance to them. Very pleasing to the eye. Once you have the upgrades completed on the watch, the look and feel of the watch will be completely different (believe it or not). I have a feeling you're going to really enjoy the changes! And, BTW... I must say- There is no finer of a gentleman than the one you bought this beauty from. Good stuff!

Yeah... Of the 6 or so I've had, non of them hacked. They were all slow beat, non hacking quick sets. The older 1570's were also non-hack, slow(er) beat and were also slow set. One of my only gripes of that movement- slow set date. Ughhhh... It's not much fun spinning the hour hands through complete cycles just to set the date... Especially when it's the 28th of the month and the date on the watch is set at the 15th.

On occassion, my wife will borrow one of my Daytonas... Though the one she tends to wear the most is my 6263 frankenstein. The El Primeros rarely get her attention. ...Not that I mind, that is

Hmmmm... I know that some reps of 18k WG watches are sometimes rhodium plated instead (e.g. the old TW Best Masterpiece). Perhaps that is another option?

Thanks, hammy. I myself prefer a smaller collection for sake of my own sanity. When I have too much selection to choose from, I end up 'hmmmmming' a bit too much in the morning when I'm trying to make up my mind on what to wear which ultimately makes me late for the office (a personal pet peeve of mine is not being somewhere on time) As it is... I spend enough time trying to figure out which Daytona to wear... Hmmmm... Let me give it some thought I love this watch! But it just never gets the wrist time it deserves Yeah... I love my Nautilus. It was a gift from a very kind and generous member of the forum, so it's held a special place in the collection. The design is a bit dated, but I myself enjoy styling from this era However, I am thinking that I might have to add the MBK Nauti Jumbo to my collection... The 3800 has a very small presence on the wrist despite it's 37mm case size. Chalk that up to the hinge flaps on the side as the larger contributor to case width (while the actual dial/bezel is rather small). The Jumbo should wear a bit larger, and better suited to taste. The 3800, however, looks great on my wife's wrist. If I could, I'd swap my 3800's dial with the baton indicies dial... A bit more sporty (the roman numerals makes the watch a bit too dressy feeling). Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine fit unless you have the ends actually in hand. There are a lot of factors that will determine fit- curvature of the top edge where it meets the case, distance size of the top flap, angle/curve of the 'bend' where it folds over and so on. For what it's worth, the first auction (item 280094323763) looks very similar to my v1.0 DW bracelet, which is a very nice hollow link replication of the genuine. I bet that one would probably do the trick, though there's no real guarantee on the ends fitting 100%.

Hmmmm... 357's... Off the top of my head, I want to say that those were off of a 1500 Date. Those should fit. Maybe a little tweaking might be necessary, but I doubt it. Those should do the trick. However, in my opinion, you'll want to hold out for a 78350 with heavy links and screw pins; those folded link Oysters feel especially light and tinny, and they also have a tendancy to grab and yank arm hairs. Not to mention, they are also difficult to size without damaging links (if you look at the one in your first auction, you can see that some of the links have already been bent). As for those links in your second auction- For this era of watch, you'll want the end links that are without the springbar notches, so I'd say that you should only consider those as a last resort.
