  1. Personally... I'd probably not take my chances. I would recommend sticking with the dealers here...
  2. If anyone would have it in the U.S., it would be the Boutique Flagship store. http://www.hauteliving.com/2009/09/royal-oak-offshore-jewelry-collection/ I can also check my local AP dealer as well... They may stock some of these pieces...
  3. I'm good with my bracelet too If I could fix anything, it would be the little pin hole in the clasp...
  4. Try the Henri Stern Watch Agency in New York: +1-212-218-1240 Not sure if they appraise watches, but maybe they can at least point her in the right direction...
  5. Mrs. Ubi and I were laffing about it this morning- Mostly cause I noticed the status of the TP roll in the background
  6. Try the Audemars Piguet Boutique in NYC: 65 East 57th Street New York, NY 10022 +1-212-758-8400
  7. Great project! I love these sentimental projects... So much meaning and history behind the watch, yet you are adding your own personal touch. Very nice! I've purchased some straps from TWB- Great value for the money in my opinion. They make some fantastic straps, and are relatively inexpensive for the quality received. Good stuff...
  8. You may want to start with a specific model of watch first and narrow your choices from there. Or do you not care what kind of vintage Cartier or Breitling you get, as long as it meets your price requirement?
  9. @rosnik- This is your new baby?? VERY nice!!
  10. I hear that dumpster diving at estate liquidations can result in some interesting and valuable finds...
  11. Think it depends on the model of AT, right? The 3719, for example is curved... The GST is, I think flat. I think the newer 3568 has a flat crystal as well?
  12. jmb- King of the 34mm coronet and shield!
  13. I'll need to see if I can measure this later today. From experience, I can tell you that fitting a 2836-2 movement in a case meant for a 2824 results in the stem being offset towards the caseback side by (about) half a mm, so .46 seems right. You definitely want the stem centered, or you risk snapping stems (BTDT )
  14. Maybe consider the TZ Vintage forum. I bet Dowling could assess that one...
  15. You guys are good T'is indeed the day I was born... @BT- That's a gorgeous 6239 PN you've linked. But
  16. Wish I was more knowledgable in the older models... But I've just no idea. It may be time for you to post those on one of the gen forums for some input...
  17. camiel- I would agree; the DJ is very under appreciated! It's a nice, classic look and a solid timepiece. Great everyday watch that's versatile for just about anything. George, Good eyes, sir. That first pic is the case with movement and dial fitted only; no Stilty ring to center the movement in the case, so that's why it's slightly off. The Stilty ring fixes that, however... This one's got a nice, solid feel to it now (without the ring, the movement wants to shift from side to side slightly when setting the crown).
  18. Yep- 5512, 5513, 5514 and 5517 all fit 25-19 for Rolex. 7928, 7016, 9411, etc. etc. for Tudor (all the large size Subs).
  19. Definitely a great deal on the 5513! Don't polish it... Don't reshape the case... Just a once over cleaning, overhaul the movement and swap in a matte, period correct meters first dial into it and you're good to go. If you would like help on finding a dial, I can assist...
  20. Here's how that combination looks -V1 case -Gen dial -Gen hands -Swiss 7750 -Swiss Day wheel (German text) -Swiss Date wheel -Chief AR
  21. Congrats, Gran! Here's to many wonderful years of happiness!
  22. 25-39 is compatible with a 5513 and 1680...
  23. I've been making it a habit of only keeping one watch in the house at all times, and it's the one that stays on my wrist. Everything else goes in the safe deposit box now... With all of our documents and our valuables...

Glad to see the dial has found a good home! Looks happy as can be in that case!
