Good one, woof! The other lever is for adjusting the beat-error and usually only has to be messed with after a service providing nobody's jacked with it...
The next build will have gen dial but as far as movement is concerned I really don't see the gen being that much better than an ETA... Of course, if I could fall into one really cheap I might be tempted...
Case and bezel are fleabay catches. This dial is rep but it seems fairly accurate and well made. I have all gen bits (14k fluted bezel, champagne dial, case, ) to build this year's Christmas present, It seems that the gold/champagne dials are fairly cheap but the others seem very pricey.
F, even though you didn't make it all the way to the top I can't even begin to imagine the misery you were in by the time you decided being planted on the mountain was not a good move... My hat's off to you!
I had built the wife a very basic all-rep Ladies DJ with a black stick dial a couple years ago and she has loved it so much I thought I'd give it a bit of an upgrade for Mother's Day. I replaced the dial with what looks like a black "sunburst" dial, a gen bezel, gen case, and Clark crystal. I guess the only things left from the original watch are the bracelet and the movement. I don't really see much about the Ladies models on any of the forums so I figured I'd post a few pics.

Snow - I seem to vaguely remember a very thin piece/shred of plastic when I pulled your compression ring but I remember thinking that it was probably sloppy assembly and was some of the protective stuff that might have been on the crystal. I can say, though, that the compression ring will be a very snug fit over the Clark crystal. I have not pressed it down fully yet as I am still waiting on the different hands. Your case has an "L" serial number...
Looks good on ya, M!
It would be nice to find a decent rep Blue Oyster Perpetual so I'll keep trying. I hear ya on the gen price, I don't know why blue dials in general bring such a premium...
Woof, I've never seen the thin plastic spacer/shim on anything other than PT cases. All of t he Cartel cases have had a compression ring that fit a gen or Clark perfectly...
Do you have a Clark to compare with? I have found that these cases often come with a rehaut too large (.008" or so) for a gen-spec crystal and need to be machined. Something is rather strange here...
