  1. To me mate I aint sure if you mean tax year or gregorian or Chinese but thats not really relevant (just me being a twat ) so I will put it in a less twatish way.... You find the Chinese rep makers work to thier big holidays the one coming up now and the CNY etc plus to a lesser extent our Crimbo These ceramic Top Guns 3880-01 & 3880-02 are right on close to be released in fact they are ready the makers are just sorting out the marking/codes for the inside of the strap thats all.. Once those are done it will be released so chances are it could be just before this holiday or just after the rest will come along around and coming upto Crimbo then either up to CNY or just after and then for thier summer national holiday...
  2. Thats very interesting mate...I am going to go and google that now to find out more about it... very nice... I think you are right thats something you should keep as all original
  3. I was lucky when sourcing my parts for mine I managed to find all the gen parts from an estate auctions on eBay... so ended up paying very little for all of them in fact I didnt realise how much a lot of them went for until after I had purchased what I got ..I think if i had I wouldnt even of tried... Now its all together I must say its the tightest movement I have ever had even with my gens... plus it winds so quickly and has an awesome power reserve.... absolutely silent even when giving it a good shake... even up to my ear I cant hear anything... I never even had a gen like that...
  4. The ZF maker and V6 is planning to hit it big with IWC s coming into next year.. The ZF has spent a few quid developing a suitable movement with PR and we will be getting to see a lot more IWC reps attempting to be the super reps in the same way the makers id it with PAMs a few years back now... They have also bought a few gens to work with and there is plenty to come on the IWC front with these new PR movements ... The only small detail is they are or will be 3 day rather than 7 but you wont be able to tell with the way they will be configured especially in models like the 5002 etc The net few coming are the newer Top Gun Ceramic models including the Miramar then after that the Big pilot etc etc These are totally new movements so dont judge them on what we have had in the past
  5. The easiest way is to find your favourite or most comfortable strap (even if it old and damaged) then measure distance on that strap from end or tip of the strap (hole side) to the centre of the first hole, then measure the distance from that end/tip to the centre of the last hole (closest to lugs). Then measure the distance from the centre of the first hole to the centre of the next hole (to get hole spacing) Of course that is assuming the strap you want to buy or order is for a similar sized watch to the one that your comfy strap fits on but basically thats the easiest way If your comfiest strap is on a smaller or bigger watch than the one you want this new strap to fit then take the rep strap or strap that is on the watch you want a new strap for and find where you would want the hole to be for it to fit nicely...if it already fits nicely but you want a new or better strap or even longer then do the same measurements as above in first paragraph. That means you can add length to your new strap if you like but just keep hole positions following same measurements as above just add the extra length of the custom strap you have ordered. For example if the watch you want to have a new strap for has a rep strap that fits OK but you want something different or with longer tail etc then just add the extra length you need to the measurements you took from that rep strap. The key is to make sure you use the measurements you know that are comfy for you by only taking measurements from a strap you find comfy.. Even if you cant work it out then just tell strap maker what you want custom wise and then tell him the measurements of the comfy strap then he will work out what you need for custom strap.. Remember the most important hole position is the one that you actually use with the buckle the rest are just for visual looks or for other wrists.. others may say use a string or similar but really you need to get it right using a strap and the watch in question
  6. Hi mate Is it the newer DG 2813 ? Ie the DG 2813-2? In either case its much cheaper and easier to buy a new movement rather than repair But depending which one you have depends on which movement to swap it with or rather which one is easiest and only requires hand and dial swap rather than stem and possible holder ring... The newer version has some feet config as 2836 etc as well as other details and is from all accounts a great little asian movement If its older version I have one here you can have just cover the postage and I will send it to you mate
  7. I have some links laying about from a watch i dont have anymore happy to send them out to you mate I am in UK
  8. Heres a few vids of it http://www.replicawatchvideo.com/mobile/znt2015091403_2ce9ff286.html http://www.replicawatchvideo.com/mobile/znt2015091402_6d2ba3d4b.html http://www.replicawatchvideo.com/mobile/znt2015091401_3b7d0cbf6.html Ryan a TD dealer elsewhere wasnt to complimentary about it and did say he wasnt impressed with the build and AR was poor gave it a milky look... other than that I havent heard much about it yet
  9. Nice decoration on those bridges mate...whats that signature say? Is it maker or a custom build for individual?
  10. Your looking at the Noob lite version mate so they are about equal but personally i preferred the BP but it really is a toss up between the 2 as they have different flaws and details so its really what bothers you most when it will be on your wrist.. The noob I am sure you know has the better version around $400 or less if you try Ryan or Ken at Chazing time or intime both TDs The better noob is hands down the best DSSD you can get without going franken
  11. Personally i dont think its got anything to do with Newbs per se.... I think what you are relating to more is a changing attitude in more of the guys coming into the scene regardless of them being newbs or not... its more about the attitude than the questions or methods of these guys... To me its more about their 'sense of entitlement' and disregard for anyone else... not only do you see it on some forums but also in the real world... even if they took the time to read any newbie guidance and other info that any newbie would do they would choose to ignore it because "that guidance has nothing to do with them"...they are above that...so to speak.. I think the people you speak of in the OP would be like this in any situation not just on these forums and/or when buying...or the fact that they are newbs...
  12. Personally wouldnt use cape cod unless you juice it onto the plexi and use a microfibre cloth CC will leave very fine scratches like it does on metals under a loupe.... its a good remedy for taking out scratches and taking off PVD etc but you should be aware that it can leave marks in the long term especially if you use it incorrectly as there is a certain way you need to use it to get the best results...
  13. AAARRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Time to get friggin in the riggin .... me hearties!!!
  14. In my experience and just like PAMs the AR hue can vary on the Big Pilot gens... If you are keen to keep it then I would get an AR coating on it... there are plenty of guys that do it but it can be about timing (ie when runs are being done) and or where you are located and are prepared to ship to... In EU you have a few guys/modders that will do it.. in East you have a few and in US there are a few more... Each modders AR has a hue some more noticeable than others and so its really deciding which you prefer and going with that... Also its useful to confirm that you actually have sapphire.... so do the water droplet test to confirm it is sapphire or mineral.... if its mineral I only know one modder that does that and he is in EU plus the bonus is his mineral AR is clear so no hue at all... If you go for the strongest AR rather than the hue you will find it doesnt really matter about the hue as the AR will speak volumes and the hue wont trouble you or be that noticeable... and even if it is you can easily remove the outer AR and reduce if not remove the hue completely... The trouble is that we all fall into the trap of becoming fixated on the details in photos etc.... my tip with any rep is to get your friend/other half/kids etc to put the watch on then you sit them down at a table and you sit opposite them... once you see your rep like that (as others would see it) then you can focus in on what really needs doing if anything at all... you will be surprised just what others see or how hard it can be to judge a rep at 3 feet away.... prices are about the same across the modders so the options are there you just need to decide which you prefer to go with... You should of moved the PR register while you had it open..:) as thats more of a give away than a lot of things... especially with AR
