  11. Hi, there I was browsing jewelryandwatch.com, looking for a daytona case, when I stumbled upon the Patek Philippe section. Now, those are without doubt the most beautiful, classy watches I've ever seen and my new ambition in life is to get one for myself. Considering gens are in the hundred-thousands and Phongs prices will be around the tenthousand (I persume, has anyone actually inquired?), I figured I could build one myself. So I began researching and found out that quite a few vintage PP chronographs use the Valjoux 23 as a base movement. Conclusion: I could use something like this (preferably solid 18k, if I should find one) and stick a Patek Philippe dial and hands into it. pronto, PP 530 or something like it at least. Since they didn't sign case or crown, it wouldn't even be too obvious. Now the big question: Does anybody have any experience with these sorts of projects? I couldn't find one up till now, for some weird reason they aren't even mentioned in the forum. I'd appreciate any help I can get, Cheers, Tim
  12. good point! anyone know a source for these vintage FF frankens?
  13. Thanks for your kindness guys, the idea was that the person selling didn't want to ship overseas (UK), even if I'd take full responsibility. It all worked out though! Cheers, Tim PS: It's always nice to see how helpful people around here are
  14. Hi there, I don't exactly know where to post this or if it's legitimate, so I figured if any place then here. Is there any trustworthy and senior member out there in Australia, willing to be a middleman in a watch sale? (Like receiving money and watch and then passing both on?) I'm sure a little bonus could be arranged too. Cheers, Tim
  15. well, I like them and I think they are rather reasonably priced! might be worth picking one up ...

  18. Hi, I wondered if anyone of you Rolex whizz's out there would know which crown and tube combination is correct for a 16570 (and where I could source it)? I have a noob factory base with a gen dial and relumed hands and what I'm looking for now is to complete it with a gen crown ... Any help is appreciated, Cheers, drury

  22. I was going to stick it on a jubilee anyway, I think it looks great. do you have a picture of a "pre" 75 gmt, so I could get an impression? I could source a small hand from cwp probably and maybe I'll just use a 6mm crown ... sort of in the middle. and @TMG about the bezel, I saw a genuine bezel for offer on a forum the other day, but it's 200
  23. This is what toomuchgear wrote in his original description: * Custom redial in a gilt, glossy finish by CWP probably they just did the finish then. you'll have to ask him if you want to know exactly. drury
