  1. Hi guys, Just thought I'd share with a few photos of my new purchase with you. It's the Avenger Code yellow, number 777 of 1000! Apologies for the photos, but they are taken with my mobile phone as I just got the watch this afternoon and havn't had a chance to take some decent pics. Photos dont do it any justice at all, its beautiful!
  2. The watch will be going off to Domi for a service first thing, so I'll ask him to sort canion pin colour and see if he can sort anything with the crown guard. Funny how such tiny inconsistencies bug you. I've never had a paneria (im a rolex and breitling fan and know my stuff about them) but panerai is new territory for me. The things i could tell you about the breitling reps however lol. But its all part of the fun eh. I still find it amazing how the factories can make everything so so accurate and then [censored] up tiny details. I concur with a lot of peoples view, it is so that they can make multiple versions with improved elements, whilst introducing new flaws. Thus keeping us buying for ever. haha I've got a vintage red dub 1680 coming in the same shipment with the 236 btw. Cannot wait.
  3. Cheeps chaps. I think it only the likes of us that notice such tiny things. lol.
  4. Hi all, Just recieved some QC pics from Joshua of a 236 I'm buying from him, and was ondering whether you guys could chip in and give me your opinion on the quality of the crown guard? Might be the light, but looks like there is a big hoofing gap (well big in my eyes) between the case and the crown gaurd? I asked Joshua if he could rememdy this, but he said that they are all like that. However, I have seen plenty of examples that dont have this problem. Your thoughts guys?
  5. Hi all, Anybody know of anyone/anywhere where you can source a gen tube and crown for the Ebel Discovery rep? Looking to a little modding on it, as it's my favourite watch Cheers C.
  6. Keep me posted. Hope everything works out with your job tho first anf roemost tho mate. I'm in the same position. Looks like february for me too.
  7. Hi all, Can anybody advise as to whether there are any trusted dealers out there that still have the better version of the Swiss ETA Steelfish? Contemplating a new purchase, and it's thewonly thing that floats my boat at the mo...
  8. Just read this thread. Thoughts go out to you mate.
  9. Man, I CAN'T WAIT to pick up my gen!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would have it by now, but waiting to hear about redundancies at work before I pay the bill. Deposit is still paid tho
  10. ATTENTION ALL REPPERS: Please make an Australian Dwarf tossing PO. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha! It could have smaller hands on the dial etc. ha
  11. Yep, more yellow please. And a better case back. .... Oh and the number 15 one the bezel like the V2... And the V2 Code yellow is born!
  12. I have the Gen, and the case back looks nothing like that. The caseback in the picture is a standard skyland case back. The gen case back on this watch has xxx of 1000 engraved on it etc.
  13. Hi all, Don't know if you already aware, but just found that there is now a rep of the 2010 Skyland "Code yellow" Limited piece. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_137&products_id=6798 Only thing I would say (apart from the other flaws of the V3), is that the case back is not correct, as does not have unique serial numbers as per gen. Thoughts?
  14. Hi everybody, I'm thinking about buying the IWC Top Gun rep (tried a gen on yesterday and i love it!), and have done quite a lot of digging around on here as I know very little about IWC reps (im more of an omega and Rolex freak ). Seems to be quite a variance in opinion at to which version is the best. I have even saw a couple of posts mentioning a V3? Anyhoo, I'm now a little confused, haha. Would be really grateful if you guys could give me a bit condensed advice as to which version to go for? Also the availability of parts for frankens, like dial and hands? I think I would be looking to get a Swiss ETA version if this watch if the quality and the likeness rep warrants it. Cheers all! C
  15. Doesnt the gen caseback have the globe engraving on it??
  16. The proplof is damn ugly, thats what it is. Surely there isnt a great market for them??
  17. Just paid the deposit on the code yellow. 777 out of a 1000 is a cool number. Hopefully it will bring good luck!
  18. Just been looking at the new Breitling Avenger "Code yellow" (renamed from Avenger Skyland to just Avenger for some reason) and it is not listed on thier website. Bizarre. All of their other 2010 limited edition pieces are. Anybody got any idea why it aint there? One of these watched in my local store btw. Looks great. Number 777 out of 1000. Soooo tempted
  19. So which is the best DSSD rep to date then? lol! I have a BK Noob DSSD.
  20. Unusual that they should stop making it, as it such a popular watch still.
  21. AR on the cyclops is very subtle. It's a nice touch. feels alot more sturdy than the older subs ans substantially bulkier around the lugs which makes it look bigger on the wrist. the use of ceramic for the bezel and 904l steel gives you a little more reasurance as to the hardiness of the piece too. Just been checking ebay, and they going for £5000+ thats a mark up of 400 already.
  22. Just with the blue background, it tricks yer eyes. I must be getting old.
