  1. This is true. He has everything, even a gen dial, also tech./specs. doc. The problem, he has to find a maker who wants to invest money to product a complete 1675 rotating bezel and dials. Its probably more juicy to produce modern Subs Probably the maker who makes the 1655 is not interested by the 1675 conversion, and no one other wants to start a 1675 from scratch. Probably not enough sales potential.
  2. Nice job ChiMan !!! but, just curious : If I undestand well, this Seagull movement copy has the correct Rolex specs (V72) for the 3 and 9 subdials spacing ? so gens/aftermarket cosmograph dials are usable ???
  3. no comments. I am not a good specialist, but what I feel, at my level of knowledge, is that right now no one maker offers an accurate 5512/13 thin case with correct markings and correct specs to fit gen parts. And put money in NDT or Phong cases is just... feed scammers, sorry, I go to bed
  4. No good, not the right size, oversized bezel ring and insert. Wrong bezel ring assembly. No possible to fit a right specs dial -gen or aftermarket- or a gen insert These cases were used also for the former 1675 sold by Josh and Andrew imho, stay away, no good at all.
  5. I know... I know... This hobby is.........................;; just a nice hobby §§§
  6. I could be wrong but : it is necessary to stop to fantasm and about this obsolete movement. Parts break easely and the full working fonctions are eratic, we are now in the 21th century [Comic mode on] stop to dream and buy a Submariner rep [comic mode off/] just kidding (but realist)
  7. Time Addict, the shop rue St Honoré ? close to place de la Madeleine ? pfff... gangsters, scammers, my adjectives to qualify these people are weak.... Last week they have a rusted ans scratched 5512 in the window... 10.400 euros I went inside the shop and asked if there was a mistake about the price marked. The guy, arogant, looked at me, offended, like if I was a zombee nex time I go there, I bring my Pacificator (.45ACP )
  8. Another deep Rep Movements Science Philosophical Discussion.............
  9. sishac, press the release the stem button while the crown is just unscrewed at the winding position and pull out the crown and stem. The watch should run again. Then, enter again the stem/crown pushing at the same time the stem release button, it will work.
  10. Nice photo Tom, and the gen at right is gorgeous ! The watch at left I worked on for sishac was made starting from the old 1675 from the cartel based on a 5513 case and bezel ring. Its indeed visually close to a gen. This is just to say that the new 1675rep concept based on the cartel's 1/1 1655 and VSO bezel assembly looks 100% LIKE A GEN Sishac is right, I told already, the problem is the dial, those from Yuki have poor printings, not enough white. All Yuki dials I got were refinished and look 100% gen. They are gen after (imho) as they are refinished by a shop which is officially recognized. For the cost of a Yuki + the refinishing job you reach the NDT price. I am not convicited with the purchase of an NDT which is probably not better than a Yuki...
  11. I agree, I would never touch a gen plexi. Gen plexies are made for gen watch cases. My philosophy is not to adapt a gen plexi on a rep watch, I consider this like to put a bandage on a wooden leg So, except if the gen plexi fits 1/1 with the rep material (a dream...) I will fit aftermarket plexies and remove material from them, WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS, to avoid cracks - I admit I have explosed more than 10 plexies before to find the right tools ans method (the learning curve) to fit an aftermarket plexi on a rep case and press the retaining ring tight without damages
  12. the chrono hands -especially the hours counter at 6 - reset is only a matter of pusher lever length. No mystic, simple mechanic
  13. A gen Rolex plexi fitted on a cartel rep ? one of these surpassing replications models ?
  14. I would suggest to sand the outside bottom of the plexi, instead ruining a retaining ring or a bezel, as this part of the plexi is no visible, a plexi cost peanuts
  15. Professional. Period. I have imediatly transmitted this message to the Rolex Company. (I have friends there) They will contact you for a future collaboration.... (good $$$$...) sorry, just kidding
  16. lol, Watchsmithing is a professional job, Metal machining is a professional job, Photography is a professional job, we are all professional friends here
  17. The crown looks very big, oversized
  18. Nanuq, I noticed (could be wrong) the hours and minutes hands of your watch are in yellow gold while the seconds hand looks white gold, Question : do you think the fact to use gold or silver hands on a vintage Rolex with a gilt dial could affect the value ? or its just a cosmetic matter ? I have seen yesterday a 5513 for sale in a shop (10.400 euros ), gilt dial and silver hands, the combination of both is gorgeous
  19. thats would be nice to have as specs to compare dimensions Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  20. this is not really helpfull, just trouble/artistic pictures, nice pics, I admit, but in fact what we need is blue prints and stop with sterile comparisons, case thickness ? outside rehaut wall high ? inside/outside rehaut diameter ? youknow what we want ? I know, let me 2 hours (dinner time) If I am not to much drunk I will show you what we need,
  21. all my 1675 dials are not same, but diameters are never under 26,9mm, max I have mesured are 27,2mm. They all fit in Josh's 1655. On the other hand, last 1655 I got from him don't have any more the right crown, they all come with a slightly bigger one. If your dial is a refinished, its possible it was re-printed on a Sub or SD dial background which is arround 26,5mm. The guy who makes dial refinishing job for me wanted to sell me gen Sub dial plates and print the GMT 1675 texts, but these dials are slightly smaller and don't fit in the 1655 case, its a matter of 1/3 of a millimeter, its a few but enough to pass through the 1655 rehaut
  22. no, Phong is the man from Jewlery&Watches company http://www.jewelryandwatch.com/index1.html lot of stuff, expensive, and I ask myself if stuff like cases are accurate. These from Yuki (5512-13 and 1675) are not. To thick. I suspect factories to use the same background case and machine crown guards, tubes, rehauts and engravings according to the model
  23. we are turning arround... perfectclone is telling the stuff is 1/1, yuki talk about dials refinished by professionals..... in fact, this hobby is just.... a nice hobby ps : yuki cases most of the time are out of specs : to thick, fat, wrong bezel assy ..etc.etc....
