  1. I think one is the 'FAKE WATCH' virus and the other must be 'MAD MODDERS' alert
  2. Trust your instincts. Relocate either to the UK (where customs not so strict) or relocate to the Source - China, Find a translator, get the biz up and running on both ends, figure out the best way to 'deliver' to EU and rest of world etc. Whilst you're there, check out the Iorange (Its actually an iphone) and the booming rep phone and MP3 industry... Just my 2c.. lest they can't arrest you when you're in China!
  3. Sure Toad.. waiting for my macro lens then i can do some proper photography review of my Sinn... and my skyland on pro diver..
  4. Here's Mine. Handheld shot, pardon the lack of sharpness
  5. Darn! You summed up everything i wrote in 4 words Come to the Dark Side....
  6. I've got my gen pro diver on the way.... that'll halve the weight of my skyland and hopefully double the wrist time... So afraid i'd bang my skyland or drag it along some wall.... My Sinn on the other hand is dying to be banged up
  7. Hey OSREP, i have a D90, started with a D50, then D80 and now D90. (You can tell i'm a Nikon guy but i was on Canon for film) Not sure where you read the reviews, but i normally read the reviews from Ken rockwell. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d90.htm He rates the D90 to be almost on par with the D300 for like almost half the price! I have to agree with Chief that lens variety is the strength of Canon, it has always and will always be, as well as good solid glass. But if you are looking for a simpler interface, more ergonomic, user-friendly design, i say the D90 fits the bill. I suggest going into a camera shop and having a go at both cameras to see which one you take to naturally, which has a better built and weight. Nikon has its range of decent lenses as well, if you're into marco, you could go with a 85mm or a 105mm. With a tripod and good lighting, you can get away with getting a f2.8 or even an f4. But if you're going handheld or low light then i suggest something faster. Great photos from the PnS! Tack sharp i believe they call it. Try with your current camera first, lowest possible ISO, finest quality (Jpeg fine), highest resolution (pixel) and use a good tripod (not those little mini shaky ones) and most importantly - timer. You can achieve that kind of quality with some practice as well. Attach a wireless or wired remote if you find pressing the shutter button will upset your focus. If handheld, use a timer as well but hold your breath. That has helped me achieve many a sharp photo so far. With your range of uses, i recommend you get a D90 + 11-16mm Tamron, 17-50 Tamron F2.8 (nikon mount) 70-200mm VR Nikon and 85mm Nikon for macro. If budget is not an issue (since you catch Wimbledon every year...) Then go for all Nikon, 10-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm and 85mm f 1.4 All the prices are readily available on amazon or adorama. Hope i helped! Gerald
  8. You gotta try to find out.. i've got a 6 3/4" wrist and i'd like to think it fits nicely on my wrist as well... Just might look a litter chunkier.. my wife says its more macho (Gasp! i have to rely on my Skyland to look more macho.. sigh, time to hit the gym)
  9. I was just gonna post what Mickey said... Consider croco grain leather too, i still love Lani's grey croco grain HKTAN... I'm waiting for my gen Pro diver to arrive... But i still love the weight of the Pro 2 on my wrist...
  10. Will come once my dealer confirms she can get me spare parts. Hey BlackKnight, if you ever get a chance to open the caseback, lemme know if yours is exactly like my pic and what the engravings say.. i'm curious about the DM part. Some guys got PH etc... Wonder what it stands for.. place of origin? Anyone? Also.. You're everywhere Blackknight... I secretly think you're Batman but that's our little secret
  11. Go Genn rubber my fren, so far no dust issues like what you reported in your review... It should look nice on a nato too probably..
  12. Great to hear you're alive and kicking Lani! You've a great following of Lani fans here so do drop by while having that havana!
  13. Thanks for reply Krpster. After more research online, i found these technical documents from ETA. And with closer inspection, the engravings and ETA insignia is clearly identical. So looks like it is genuine Swiss eta after all. Good to know i'm getting what i paid for! https://secure.eta.ch/CSP/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=3&tabid=28 Cheers G
  14. Received my U2 today... very very nice and runs like a beauty on swiss eta 2836-2. Blacknight, you're right about the lume on the hands being flat. Looks like its a good idea to get a few spare sets of dials and hands. Plus i'm defintely gonna screw up 1 or 2 dials enlarging the hole for the AR capsule.... Photos soon. . Need some opinions on whether this is a genuine swiss eta? Anyone? Engravings are V8V85 2836-2 DM and some insignia design
  15. Hi all, Have been reading up but unable to find a definitive guide on telling a swiss 2836-2 and an asian clone mvmt apart. Would really appreciate if anyone can share some clear indicators to differentiate them. Have attached some photos of a recent rep i purchased that was quoted as Swiss eta 2836-2. The inscriptions are 'VELAS' followed by 2836-2 DM and some insignia design. Hope someone can comment thanks!
  16. I lurve the Pro 2, imo nothing comes close for steel.. I guess mesh is really good to fend off a shark attack
  17. Perhaps a swiss 2836? Cos my dealer offered me to pay for the difference and upgrade but i opted for a refund. It kept great time but i couldnt take my mind off the skipping! Now i got a swiss U2 hopefully it'll run great like my prev gmt iic on 2836 Maybe talk to ur dealer?
  18. Do let her know your nick from RWG... who knows? U might get a special price? Gd choice of watch! Enjoy wearing it! I love mine on kevlar now.
  19. Here is my 3717 - From King. Great Dealer, great watch.
  20. I actually made a review of this problem, sounds exactly like what you described. Think you can search Sinful minute in youtube. Its apparently a batch problem and like you suggested, its better to take a high beat version, i already placed an order for my U2, Swiss 2836 - IMO a great movement. Will review once i receive it.
  21. My best advice is to go thru the reviews in the dealer's section and make your decision from there. Also, i would email both dealers to enquire and see their service and response time etc. You could go for the steel strap first which is nice, then start looking for other alternatives for different occasions and looks.
  22. Yeah, I believe the box is intended for the Super Avenger... but i bought it for my skyland. Clear enough? Coffee on the brew...
  23. Thanks for that tip my friend! Was hesitatnt to put SA... Shall amend that... Got it from King. Dealer section
  24. Post man came by and dropped this off... Gotta love Kevlar.. Now i need a gen buckle... Back where you belong
