  1. That watch looks familiar! The original Silix base dial was redone by CWP since the rep dial is larger than a gen 1675. It has the original crown on it but a 5.3mm would be correct for a 1675 -its tiny! Only other mods I'd suggest would be to fit a Eurotimez "flat top 3" silver date wheel overlay and see if the reaming cuts on the bezel could be carried down on the sides of the bezel (see my gen 16750 below) - that was one thing I was never satisfied with on this project watch. I just had the bezel narrowed thinned down a lathe but nothing done to the reaming cuts to accentuate them. Lastly, if you're really adventurous; have the crown guards reshaped to pointed ones. Have fun with it Drury!
  2. Ronin, Early Bond subs had Gilt(gold) hands with white seconds and some with the big lollipop bubble seconds hand. Of course with servicing swaps you see all sorts of variations, so neither is really wrong.
  3. I've always liked Micah Straps and Gunny for vintage.
  4. Libby, To my knowledge for flat top 3 DW's there are only the Watchmeisters' and Eurotimez. Watchmeisters are all gone now, let me check my parts box and see if I have one sitting around. Can't give you feedback yet about the silver Eurotimez as for fit. My ding against the ET DW is the base is not brushed but polished (which makes it harder to read), we'll see how it looks when its installed in my 1655. I know Slatlibartfast had a DIY version he printed on a water transfer decal -might want to ping him for advice/help.
  5. Here's a recent crappy quick & dirty collection shot, only change is the Speedmaster is no longer in the fold
  6. I dig it Hike!!! Today:
  7. Hi R, Actually a gen 1665 dial will fit an MBW case (26mm). A 1680 gen dial does not fit the MBW case and -a tad large. Yukiwatch or NDT cases are the best aftermarket out there right now.
  8. Some old stock shots of my usual two pair: AO Pilots Raybans
  9. Nice D! 6263 for today
  10. Wow impressive as usual Freddy. I've never been much of a yellow gold fan either but you nailed it! -some models just transcend the tone of their metal if you will. That is a drop dead beautiful!!!
  11. Impressive as always Zig -you are a true artist!!!
  12. Ditto Stephane 5517 for me today
  13. Very nice upgrade R. Boy that is minty fresh looking! Enjoy and wear it well.
  14. Tasty Ubi!!! '79 GMT for me today
  15. Great post Zig as always. It's amazing to see the skill, patience and attention to detail required in your craft!
  16. :Jumpy: Outstanding collection!
  17. Wow, brilliant finish on the case and amazing detail work as usual Zig. Congrats and wear the watch well R!
  18. Congrats Martyd3!!! Great timepiece. Wearing my 16570 today
  19. Thanks for the nice words on my Milsub. CWP is Classic Watch Parts. A Clarks Tropic 19 is a good budget option, it might be a tad closer in shape to the genuine. What I like about the Clarks T19 is it has the look of an over polished superdome.
  20. I like the avatar and signature changeup Hike!!! Lanikai, looking good my friend! 5517 for me today
  21. Geyperman is right, you'd be much better off starting with a MBW 5513 -a better base to work from. See if Eurotimez can swap the dial out with a 5517 dial, he sells a 5517 dial for the MBW's separately. You would need to drill out the lug holes to 2mm and insert a steel rod for fixed bars and solder them in place to have fixed strap bars. For a quick and dirty method, could just solder springbars in place. Swap with a CWP 60 min insert, use MkII Watches MOD hands and call it a day. BTW, I have a set of vintage lume MkII hands for sale . Note that some 5517's were still marked 5513 on the cases so its not such a big deal with the stampings. Good luck on your project.
