  1. Both are great pieces and a real improvement over the regular rep crowns. A must have for every serious PAM modder.
  2. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think that this will surprise anyone who is seriously into watches. There is a pretty high ratio between the real hardcore manufacturing cost of many watches and the final retail - or does anyone really believe that a ss submariner costs a couple of thousand dollar to manufacture?
  3. That was a steal - but I still think its getting harder and harder to find very good bargains on the bay....
  4. Not bad at all... but the sunken datewheel....
  5. My choice from the three would be the Ball.
  6. DSN specializes in PAM. The most visible difference between a DSN and a high grade PAM rep from another collector is the lume on dial and hands. To get a (pretty close to) perfect PAM rep, you need much more than either DSN or any other collector delivers out of the box. But then again, "close to" depends on how anal you are. Some members will discuss for hours whether the spacing of the print on the dial is off by fractions of a millimeter, others simply don't give a... The movements all come from the same country (CN), so do the crystals, and if you want perfect Crownguard, perfect crown you will have to source additional parts anyhow. Therefore - if you are concerned about customs but absolutely want a better than out of the box PAM, why don't you check the sales section and wait for an EU member to sell his modded PAM?
  7. It depends a bit on the lighting but to me it is more on the off-white side...
  8. I just went to the front door to look this up: "We have 16,950 registered members" ...the reality is, the more people gather anywhere, the more chance for bumping into all kind of different people including impatient or unfriendly ones. Even if twenty new members use the search button, you will only notice the one noob who's first post is the infamous WHO HAS THE BEST SUB.
  9. A great improvement and it only proves that while generally the quality of your equiment does matter - even more decisive for good results is knowledge, care and training.
  10. Yes these are gens. I've seen some of these pictures on other reference sites. It's a great compilation of Pre A info. Thanks for sharing the find.
  11. I would contact the dealer and complain. Too pricey a rep to accept Canal Street quality.
  12. I agree with Theo - the EOD wears smaller than a PAM. It is very comfortable to wear but not with the original strap. That strap looks cool but I find it uncomfortable. I exchanged mine against a carbon (look) strap. I once did a size comparison to my Oris Carlos Coste - look here
  13. Taht is one very nice watch!
  14. Amazing work, The Zigmeister. This particular watch has really grown on me - it is the one Graham design that I could imagine wearing.
  15. Yep... it's been quite some time since I was interested in buying a gen - but this could just be it.
  16. Now is that confirmed Baselworld 09 stuff or just wishful thinking? I could't find anything official about this watch.
  17. Don't worry about the look - I think it looks fantastic... if you wanted to keep a low profile, you should change the watch first
  18. Both parts you are looking for have been produced as comunity projects by members of RWG. The T48 crown is a project by member "T" - he currently sells them. They are a direct replacement for the rep crown and basically look and feel like a gen PAM crown - but they are built to fit the rep case whereas you will have to mod the case and possibly the CG to fit a gen PAM crown. Crownguards - another member of RWG, "V" has produced very nice CG but as far as I know, he has sold out. Every once in a while someone sells one of these crownguards in the sales section. They are great but not cheap.
  19. I like this no nonsense sporty design.
