I don't know about these particular shows as they don't run on my side of the planet. My guess would be that on cooking shows, there is a lot of (visual) focus on the hands and so watches get a lot more attention...

After reassembling the watch yesterday, I'm wearing my "de-rubberized" ROO ... This is what the bezel looks like without the rubber coating...

I look forward to seing how this new bezel holds up. Just for your info - because of the way the case (Bezel, Case, Caseback) is constructed, the bezel can't be solid rubber. Actually the screws that you see on the bezel connect to the screws (which are actually nuts) in the caseback. Solid rubber would not withstand the force when you screw the caseback tight. On mine, the bezel was rubber coated matte black plastic and with the rubber coating removed, it looks pretty much like before.

Hi and welcome. You will find that this forum provides a vast amount of information on watches in general, not just reps. Many of its members collect gens and reps alike and all are united by the love for those little micro machines...

It's a great watch. I sure hope that the bezel has been improved. I'm just re-assembling mine after removing all remaining rubber shreds from the bezel. My bezel lasted three weeks...

I don't think its a Sub because the bracelet in the first picture looks non-sub to me. Better pictures might help...

I only gave you an example. I wasn't doing the searchwork for you. Use the "search" button in the upper right corner of the Forum, put "Kampfschwimmer" and my example was only number two or three in a long list of threads on the subject. The centerpoint of my info was the fact that this handwound movement was not from an old Rolex but rather a Rolex movement used in WWII Panerai watches who were given to German and Italian undersea divers during war. Some of these, given to German divers, had "Kampfschwimmer" engraved on the caseback which is the German expression for a undersea diver / seal. Happy hunting...

At this level of cost, I would deposit the money with a lawyer, accompanied by a written instrument instructing him to release the funds to the seller once the watch has been ok'ed by an official Rolex service center in you area.

The gen Royal Oak Offshores all have screwdown crowns. I myself haven't seen a rep of this model that didn't. But then again, there are various levels of accuracy on reps, depending on the amount of money you spent. There is even a quartz version of the Offshore Chrono, so there might be a no-screwdown version as well. Without more details about the one you bought, it's fishing in the dark...

It depends. Sometimes the dialfeet don't match the movement (if for example you are using a gen dial on a rep eta movement). Sometimes the dialfeet have broken. Depending on the type of movement and the complication (no date, date etc), you can attach the dial with glue (like in your case) or with dialpads (which are little round pieces ofadhesive compound, sold by the likes of Ofrei or Cousins). In your case, the movement has an outer ring (the silver thingy) which makes sure that there is a distance between the dial and the datewheel so that it can spin freely. That is what the dial was glued to.
