  1. Outstanding, Ubi. The cases all look the same. Would you care to disclose their source?
  2. 7206, which is what they were originally sold with.
  3. Read this & number 5 under Posting.
  4. Outstanding collection.
  5. Great pic, but it looks like your hands (especially the hour hand) are rubbing against the dial because they are installed too low on the pinion. Eventually, if you do not have them reset higher, they will remove all the paint. There is little you can do about the paint that has already been rubbed off, but at least you can stop additional loss.
  6. New & aftermarket.
  7. Yes. There is a thread here somewhere that contains a short video I made showing how the GMT function on my rep works (you can probably search it out), but, due to its finicky movement, it is best not use the GMT function.
  8. Yes. It works exactly like the gen GMTIIC.
  9. The original run of GMTIIC reps (5 years ago) had CHSs & GMT hands that functioned just like the gens. Unfortunately, many reported the movements to be time-bombs, but, fortunately, mine has continued to run without problems
  10. Some kudos to photobucket. Apparently, I was not alone in my complaints to them as they just informed me that they will be removing the infinite scroll feature & reinstating page views at the end of the month. Not exactly a panacea, but this does eliminate 1 of the silliest things to hit the web ever (infinite scrolling).
  11. Andrew's description for 0083 does not specifically indicate that the cyclops is AR'd, but it is in the pics at the bottom. However, the pics include 2 watches, 1 with AR & the other without it & he does not say whether the AR'd watch is a new rep or a gen for comparison. Also, the AR'd watch looks to have the correct handstack order & his description does say the GMT is independently adjustable. If 0083 does have proper AR on the cyclops & the correct handstack order, this would be a definite move in the right direction.
  12. The Sub dial is pretty good (though I would relume it), but I do not like the crown or fonts on the SD dial.
  13. Brilliant pic!
  14. Thumbnail settings?
  15. Photobucket used to be a pleasure to use. Pages loaded instantly, image links were easily copied (with a single click) & you had direct access to any page in your album by simply clicking the page number at the bottom of each page. Then, they reduced the number of images per page & eliminated the direct page links (the hyperlinks at the bottom of the page that allowed you to go directly to a specific page in your album), which made the system a bit cumbersome to use (especially, when you are looking for an image that may be on any of nearly 100 pages & your only option is to browse page-by-page until you find what you are looking for ). But, today, they have implemented a new, facebook-like display, which automatically (& endlessly) adds new images to the bottom of the page as you scroll. Rubbish. & I was going to upgrade for additional storage. Not now. No way!
  16. I agree with your general premise, but the 1st Daytonas sold for much less than $1,200 & have increased by several orders of magnitude since then. Somewhere in my Rolex archives, I have a pic of an early 1960s magazine ad for a steel Daytona listing the suggested retail price as $198.
  17. Please do not re-quote an entire set of pics just to add a line or 2 at the end.
  18. Nice work.
  19. Rolex benefits - good fit & finish, high degree of build quality, (higher) resale value retained/gained over time, legal (not contraband) Top quality rep benefits - relatively cheap, provides appearance of gen Rolex negatives - expensive, costly to repair (especially, in the case of vintage) Top quality rep negatives - little or no Q/C, unreliable until/unless professionally overhauled, legal issues with ownership in some countries, low resale value, risk of being identified as 'poser'
