  1. I modded 1 of ingod's (added a gen crown & enhanced the patination a bit).
  2. Somewhere in my archives, I have a pic of Mayer back stage before a concert & he is selecting which of the dozen vintage Rolexes (mostly Daytonas) in his travel case to wear on stage that night. I suspect his collection is anything but small.
  3. What do you mean by 'tags'?
  4. I am sure Robert Maron would say they exist.
  5. As long as you use a good winder, which gently winds the watch & does not exceed the recommended number of turns/day (the winder sound come with recommendations from several major watch companies & include several models of each), it should not harm the watch. My oldest has been running silently for 4 years.
  6. The bezel engravings/paint look funky, especially 22 & 24. Otherwise, what I see looks ok.
  7. The existence of genuine, 3-color 6239 ROC (Rolex Oyster Cosmograph) dials have been debated for many years. I have seen a couple on TZ owned by credible collectors, but there are other collectors, who are just as credible, who deny they exist. But, unless you intend to wear it to a Rolex GTG or post pics on a gen site, I would not worry about it. Of course, there is no such controversy regarding the non-Oyster version, so I wear mine (mostly) worry-free
  8. The date change time is more likely varying than changing (over time). If the date change components are dirty/worn, tolerances are no longer in spec & some degree of 'play' results, which causes the variation. Again, the watch likely requires a standard overhaul.
  9. To correct the date change time, you need to remove the hands, slowly cycle the movement through a 24-hour cycle just as the date changes & then reinstall the hands. Depending on how close you want to get it & how much effort you are willing to expend, you should be able to get it pretty close. For reference, I believe Rolex still specs 30 seconds +/- midnight. Like all reps, your watch has a used &/or unserviced movement. So you should get it overhauled upon receipt if you want it to be as accurate/reliable as it can.
  10. That 2nd pic is a beauty. Wearing my Aryan 'Master today
  11. Good, clear pics (1024x768) of all sides would be helpful.
  12. From last winter (38" at top of stick)
  13. Dusted-off the old 'Graph today
  14. I do not think that is the same case as this. The 'Newman' moniker refers to a particular style (Exotic - Rolex's official term) of Daytona dial, not a color. Whatever works for you. But, just for reference, keep in mind that the 6542 was made for (& in conjunction with) Pan Am. The only difference between the (original) black & (later) white dialed versions was that the former were intended for Pan Am flight crews & the latter for Pan Am execs, which is how I usually think of them.
  15. I call it a GMT or 'Master, which is why I missed your reference.
  16. Unless that 'M' is supposed to be an 'N', you stumped me.
  17. Can you clue us in on what you pre-ordered?
  18. The pink strap gives it a bit of Italian pinaché, but I think it looks best on the folded link.
  19. I wish he had a better sample than this. Previously, he told me the actual dial he ships out is different, but the pic he sent of the actual dial was printed off-center & had other problems. I guess I got lucky with his white Newman dial .
