I have never handled Yuki's 62xx Daytona cases, but the only real issue with DW's are their lack of engraved serial & model numbers between the lugs (the numbers are there, but they are laser etched, which is wrong for Rolex). The basic shape/dimensions of DW's middle case/caseback are nearly spot-on. Of course, QC is effectively non-existent, so variations do exist.

I emailed the seller, hoping my 'question' would get posted to both scare other potential bidders away &, hopefully, attract the attention of ebay's security team. But he just reiterated what he said to others & it never got posted.
-
I cannot blame inexperienced buyers. There was a time, not too long ago, when I would have salivated over that POS. Ignorance is bliss. But that seller should be outed. I wonder if a bunch of us should, 1-by-1, post questions (in the form of comments) in his auction?

Neither the dial (incorrect fonts, for starters) nor the movement (wrong regulating system, for starters) are genuine.
-
If, in fact, that is a DW case, I cannot understand how or why a non-DW dial (at least that 1) got put in there. For a better dial, I would go back to DW.

His usual MO. A few years ago, I was looking for a pair of aftermarket 580 end links for my 1665 that would fit gen (2mm) springbars. So, prior to my purchase, I emailed Mr. Slimeball 2 questions (I am posting them here verbatim) - 1. Will your end links fit genuine Rolex 2mm diameter springbars? His reply 'Yes, no problem'. 2. Are the parts I will receive exactly as pictured/described in your ebay page? His reply 'Yes, same as ebay'. The end links were rubbish, the springbar hoops were about .5mm too small (no way would a 2mm springbar ever fit) & they looked completely different than his pics. Initially, after sending him good, clear pics as well as a pics of the end links advertised in his ebay page, he agreed to send out the correct links. After nearly 8 weeks of email exchanges (he kept saying he never received the old end links back even though I also sent him (by email & standard mail) copies of the (signed, by him) USPS proof of delivery), he finally sent replacements, which not only looked completely different (& wrong), the replacements were missing the springbar hoops entirely. After pointing this out to him, he stopped responding to my emails, so I registered a complaint with Paypal, who, after receiving all of my paperwork & pics, AMAZINGLY, sided with Mr. S. The only black mark I ever received in all of my dealings on ebay. I do not know how he does it, but I have heard of similar experiences from a number of other ripped-off buyers. And to add insult to injury, I subsequently ordered from him 2 times after that (since no other options existed), but with the exact same result (crummy, incorrect parts). In each case, since the parts were cheap, I never bothered to register additional complaints. When dealing with Mr. Slimeball (using any of his numerous aliases), BUYER BEWARE.

Does anyone have a program that will download this flv?

At nearly 100 megs, you will need to rip it. -
1 of the best songs ever written. Thanks for the link.

Put simply - that dial sucks. If this came from DW, I would send it back (& I am sure DW would replace it without question). Period. Although not perfect, here is my modded (7750-powered) DW 6263 Also, I believe Yuki has more accurate 6263 (black) bezels for these watches. The '110' on DW's (& most other aftermarket bezels) is spaced too far apart, but is correct on Yuki's (at least it appears that way in the pics on his website). I have a sample en route, which should arrive anytime & I will report back once I have it in hand. His price is fairly reasonable, too.

Ditto Alli. White datewheel for steel & champagne datewheel for gold & two-tone.

shultz - It looks good, except that it also reveals the inscriptions between the lugs as being etched (as opposed to engraved), which gives the watch away as a rep. Of course, this is a non-issue if you are unconcerned by this.

GMTII Ceramic AR'd Cyclops mystery solved?
freddy333 replied to Justasgood's topic in The Rolex Area
The answer was posted last year. If you need further evidence, look at the AR impression (on the underside of the crystal) left after the owner removed the cyclops Or read this. -
After trying for many months to download a copy (it is actually an old video that keeps popping up as new people discover it for the 1st time), I finally succeeded in ripping it a few minutes ago. It is jolly good viewing for anyone with a watch fetish (or not).

Does anyone have a program that will download this flv?
freddy333 replied to freddy333's topic in The looney bin
Got it with Replay Media, which worked like a charm. Unfortunately, neither of the other utilities did any better than my old packet sniffer, but thanks to all for your help & input. By the way, this video ought to be required viewing for every single member of this board. If you have not seen it, do. -

chubbchubb - Thanks for the links. Unfortunately, Web Video Capture says 'Be aware that WebVideoCap cannot capture streams of RTMP protocol.', which is exactly the type of stream I am trying to download. I am trying the other 1 now. -
Search RWG for 'Mr. Slimeball' & if you order from him, good luck (you will need it).

No, not jumpers. It is obviously related to the cloning process, but having gotten similar results with 3 different approaches, I am still stumped.

From the description, I doubt this unit has sufficient power to thoroughly clean disassembled watch parts or assembled bracelets (never place an assembled watch into an ultrasonic), which is the primary reason to use an ultrasonic (my $40 Haier vibrates at 10k/sec - good for bracelets & small cleaning jobs) & my Watchmaster vibrates at 32k/sec). However, for the price, it is certainly worth a few dollars to find out.

Ditto.

I want to download a copy of the luxury watch video on this page (.flv format) But none of my usual packet sniffers or flash downloaders are able to get anything but the short, pre-video downloading animation. I have tried both current versions of IE & Firefox & searched both browsers' caches, but I am unable to locate anything that is either large enough or in a video format. Searching the source of the page, I found the actual url to the video (rtmp://8irf9d17b9.rtmphost.com/luxurychannel/timeMachines.flv), but I do not know how to access this type of link. Anyone?

OS - the easiest way to ID a (mineral) glass crystal is to view it from the side. Glass always has a green tint to it, while sapphire & Plexi are either clear or white. Also, glass feels cool to the touch, while sapphire & Plexi tend to have a neutral (room temperature) feel. These tests require no tools &, once you know what to look for, are quite reliable.

Fortunately, I had been in the rep watch game long before the advent of the Web, so I have never been suckered into buying any expensive 'Grade AAA' (or similar) rubbish online. However, prior to stumbling across RWG (& sister sites), I cannot tell you how many times I posted messages on 1 of those fake rep forums where, as it turned out, all of the content was posted by the site operators.

Or worse, the hands will be brought up close against the dial face & not be levered off. In this case, as they do their normal thing, they will slowly carve out circles in the dial's paint.
