  1. Although I have never been a big fan of the gen, the original chs GMTIIC, while not perfect (no rep is), is the most convincing out-of-the-box rep I have seen. It is so convincing, in fact, that it has remained 100% original (no mods required)
  2. Thanks for the recommendation & congratulations on your new GMT.
  3. Ditto & nice collection.
  4. Formalized today
  5. For my money
  6. You may be able to use the case, but without knowing its exact dimensions, it is impossible to say how successful a project based on this will be. If you feel lucky........
  7. The rose Tudor Sub is 1 of my grail watches & not likely to be going anywhere anytime soon. Sorry. Mystery tonight
  8. Thank you. Terrible. The beauty of the Mystery is its use of white space - large areas of blank or solid color space that allows the viewer's eye to rest while focusing its attention on the main design component/s.
  9. Rounded rectangular @ 4mm x 6mm
  10. I wore my Mystery today
  11. With rep watches, it is impossible to say. Under normal circumstances (a gen watch that has been regularly serviced by a professional watchmaker), a year of idleness should not cause any problems. But much beyond that & the oils begin to dry out, which can cause problems. In either case, I would recommend having any important watches professionally serviced prior to your trip abroad. Then, upon your return, check your other (unserviced) watches to see if the crowns or hands are stiff when you try to rotate them. If so, have the watch serviced before something is damaged. Bon voyage.
  12. The movement is also loose inside the case, so another reason to send it back. Of course, there is no guarantee that you will not have similar problems with the next 1. With reps, that is part of the game.
  13. Most reps contain used/unserviced movements. Furthermore, the 'factories' that make them have little or no QC, which is why so many reps are DOA or fall apart soon thereafter. However, any higher-end rep that is used within its specs & professionally serviced every 5 years should last a lifetime.
  14. When you unscrew the crown, the stem should automatically be in the winding position. Gently wind the crown about 40 turns & it should start. If not, the watch needs service. Either contact the seller or take it to a local rep-friendly watchmaker.
  15. I could not agree more GMT for me today
  16. Current retail on a new 93150 with your choice of endpieces (501B, 580 or 593) is $925.
  17. I second the Acetimer recommendations.
