  1. Probably a correct guess. Check your display setting in the Options.
  2. Wearing greenie today
  3. I have wanted a 214 since 1 of my relatives got 1 of the 1st Spaceviews in the early 60s. But, like you said, something (usually a Rolex) always got in the way. But it will be the next watch I buy (with a Doxa being number 2).
  4. No, not missed, just ignored. I remain unconvinced that they are shipping these out with Swiss 7750s. And, even if they were shipping gen ETAs, there is little to be gained (beyond ease of parts replacement) by going with the Swiss over the Asian-sourced 7750 with a secs at 6 movement. The problems with these movements relate to the added gearing & not the basic movement itself. If you want something beyond the stock Daytona rep, search out the 'You can build a perfect Daytona' tutorial.
  5. Ditto. I nearly bought a Spaceview 214 a couple of months ago, but ended up buying a car instead. But one day soon......
  6. My usual boring, old beater again today
  7. Other than the ROLEXROLEXROLEX around the rehaut (which looks painted) & the oddly shaped index markers at 3, 6 & 9, it looks like the same watch (& movement) most of our collectors have been selling for the past few years for less than 1/3 the price.
  8. Great post, Auto. Hopefully, it will get copied to the appropriate place.
  9. Sounds like a great trip.
  10. I wish they had made the red sections 1/2 as wide, but it looks good. I received mine as well, but my 6536 is still awaiting a proper case.
  11. I was going to mention to be careful & not press too firmly on that stem release. A common mistake, especially when you are just starting out, is to press the release too hard, which dislodges the lever. The movement is not dead, but you will need to remove the movement from the case, remove the hands & dial & then remove the set lever, straighten (or replace) it if it is bent (most likely not) & then reassemble. This level of work may be beyond your tools & comfort level, so you might want to have a local (rep-friendly) watchmaker do the work for you.
  12. I must be getting soft in my old age, but it works for me. Certainly, not perfect, but quite acceptable. And, considering the source, I am not surprised.
  13. Looks like you are well on your way, but what is the thumb tack for?
  14. Nanuq - I would love to see some new pics (preferably wristies) of the BL myself.
  15. A vintage Doxa would get my vote.
  16. Sounds like Swine Flu to me.
  17. Ending the work week with dual time zones
  18. Kind of an expensive route to take, but you could get the Yuki watch and replace the dial & crystal. The crystal should be relatively easy to source (Clarks), but the dial, especially a red dial, would be difficult. I went through my Tudor archives in search of Rangers (with or without the red lettering), but could not find a single 1.
  19. I can only provide my own personal experience, but my CHS was 1 of the 1st batches & it is still running fine (I tested the GMT function upon arrival, but, otherwise, I have not had to set the time much since)
  20. Definitely gen. As to the gaggle of others, pictures are not good enough to be sure, but nothing sticks out as suspicious like the 1st 1 did.
  21. Stephane - it looks good on you. And about time you got 1. I may just have to put mine back on tonight But, today, I am wearing the old beater
  22. Nanuq's is correct (gen).
