  1. I hadn't seen yours Ubi, that's awesome! I shipped my whole mess off to a watchmaker yesterday! Should be back on two weeks!
  2. Came home for lunch and the new Nato was in my mailbox. I removed the bracelet to find the solid endlinks come off just like the vintage non sel bracelet. For those of you that plan to install a Nato, plan on replacing the springbars too. The springbars that come stock on this watch are really thin and cheap, so I replaced them with some that were a bit thicker. The new Nato is a very nice color scheme and probably the closest to the gen Nato, but be warned..this is not heavy duty. It is pretty thin material like some of the cheap Nato's I have purchased from ebay. Not junk..just not as heavy as the better made ones. so....here it is!
  3. Can't tell from the pic Martin, menthol or lights? Killer watch btw!
  4. CG's, gen insert, and maybe a Yuki rivet... then call it a day! .......that's a beautiful watch!
  5. I just posted these in GD, but what the heck
  6. My 6694 with a grey/purple/brown/silver dial
  7. Email the seller and ask. It's the only way to know. He might not know unless he opens the watch. Honestly, there are so many models and variants of seamaster that there is no way to know. When I started my search I had hoped there was a list of all models and movements. I never found that list. So I just bid on sure things as there are many that have pics of opened watches. Good luck!
  8. As to the strap, email Josh and see if he can source it. Josh is very responsive to emails and will answer you promptly. As for the movement, all automatics need to be handwound at some point. Some have a longer power reserve than others, but at some point even a 20k rolex needs winding. Best of luck!
  9. Rockin my Jmb'd 5512 today
  10. I found a tracking number for my nato. They are located in singapore, all I can find out is my strap left there on the 11th.
  11. I am something else on VRF, but same or similar on other gen forums as I registered on some of them before reps came into my life.
  12. I love my vintage 5512's from josh. After a gen crown&tube, crystal ,lugholes..the only advantage I see in the MBW are the CG's. I was lined out for an MBW from a forum member, but he seems to have forgotten me after our pm's and emails. Usmc...good luck on your project!
  13. Straying off the Breitling path a liittle ..are we? Hey! When are you gonna stop by and see the famous Heritage?
  14. Wait......I'm lost...are you saying you don't like the Heritage clasp? Is that your clasp? This is mine...
  15. Very nice watch rsea! I belive Yuki uses the Viet Nam case also. Love these ! Edit to add: db2, if you don't have any parts yet..chiman has a complete watch on the for sale forum right now if you want a head start!
  16. Hi! I am in the middle of an sm300 build right now myself. Like you, I had hoped I could find a movement alone and scoured the watch boards and vintage dealers until I gave up... and finally just bought a vintage watch on ebay. I had set a limit of 180 and lost many auctions. After a few weeks I gave up and ended up spending 220$ on my old watch from a seller in Israel. I bought my nos dial, hands and blk datewheel from CousinsUK and they came in last week. I am using a Viet Nam case for now and will update it with a nos Omega case in a few months. The sm300 is an awesome watch and the Omega cal 565 is a steller movement! Good luck on your project!
  17. Yes Josh is as good a dealer as any. I wouldn't start to worry until it's been more than six weeks.
  18. I might be wrong about this but..last I heard Omega inserts were not available seperate. Ofrei sells the complete bezel assembly. The aftermarket inserts are not bad, the one in mine looks better than the rep it came with.
  19. Here is a really good thread on how to tell and what to look for
  20. thanks! The bluish AR on these is pretty nice. I really wanted to show it but it doesn't come out for me. I was outside yesterday and looked at my watch when I noticed the strap and Ar together.
  21. Just learning my camera . I tried to get the blue colored AR with the navy blue Nato. In real life in the sunlight..it's a really nice match.
  22. Can tell alot more by the inside edge, need a pic of the inside
  23. Slickdick, your the man! I just redid it.. and now it's fine and operates as it should! I hadn't noticed the little tab that goes into the hole at 12 before. Thanks!
  24. That's great information! I have one more question on the bezel. After I put mine back together it just spins either direction. What way does the sping with the three "fingers" go? facing up or down? Do you need to tension/bend it? Before I popped it off it worked as normal, only went one direction with clicks. I thought I lost a tiny click spring that are on gen systems, but I guess this watch doesn't have one.
