Hi Pete, I see you've upgraded to Platinum, well done! Thanks for supporting this place all these years. Now let's add the necessary details and make this a full fledged sales listing, eh?
-
Well said, Fraggle. I loved the orange Planet Ocean from the first time I saw it, and HAD to have one. So I bought one, didn't love it, and sold it. But then the bug bit again and I had to have one. So I repeated the process. I've now had 3 and sold them or gave them all away. And guess what bug bit me again a week ago? Maybe the chrono this time.

Is that Russian lettering on the plastic?

Send it to me ... I'll get ya started.

Pete, I've found this to be true in many things: guitars, watches, hockey skates, you name it. I finally figured out that for me personally I can be happy admiring something that someone else owns, but I don't need to own it. That was a real key revelation... I can like it but not need it.

Nope you don't want to thin the crown guards ... thin the crown so it makes the stubby crown guards look more normal. Here's what it looks like with a thin 702 vintage crown, it makes them look pretty normal.
-
That's a beauty but it has notoriously stubby crown guards. The trick is to thin the crown to give it the profile of a 702. Then you'll have a beautiful starter Sub. A few guys here have written about the process.

It's really hard to tell from the pictures. Some have a strong radial brushed look, others look like almost a matte silver background. Here's my GMT from the early 60s and its datewheel has a strong radial brushing, yet the pictures barely show it. It's really hard to capture in a picture.

Welcome aboard, James the Larger!

Excellent!! And in the meantime start getting used to the idea of selling me that gorgeous 6200 some day! Resistance is futile!

We tried a crazing project about 10 years ago, one member had access to ultra high energy UV equipment and we thought we could speed up the natural process. He put a gen dome crystal under the UV and in 24 or 48 hours and he started to see crazing but it also made the plexi extremely friable too. To the point that it would be unusable in daily use. (another new word for my friend Dlf)

Very nice indeed!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my amazing (and disturbing) friends here at RWG! When I stop to think about it, it is simply breath-taking to be alive. From our mountain house in Alaska to yours, enjoy the day!
-
Wooowwwwww!!! That's a great build! And I love the crazing in that crystal. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Now that's just sick. SICK! In a good way. Now let's talk about thousand dollar 8mm Brevet crowns.
-
Kernow, have you seen cc33's latest pics of his Daytona build? Utter, unadulterated smut.
-
Now THAT is how a newbie introduces himself to the gang! Iyan my man, you ROCK. I predict a long, satisfying and poverty-stricken relationship with RWG in your future. Welcome aboard, you've already got The Sickness and apparently, a wife (God bless her) that can tolerate us. Does it get better than that?!

I'm afraid SWMBO is correct. Here's one from 1973: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-rolex-1680-red-submariner-vintage-761080.html here's one from 1969: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=260580 a couple from 1971: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=312891 https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=229438

Alright enough is enough. Remember the forum rules, All porn must be posted in the Loony Bin. This definitely qualifies as utter, unmitigated, prurient smut and I love it!

Ubi: I just lost another of my nine lives. Down to six now. Cc33: Dammit, I'm down to five. Extremely handsome pieces gents!!!
-
You know, you could add an 8mm Brevet crown and make this an 8285 ....... That's a spectacular hunk of steel there, my friend. I love those subdials.

Thanks for the heads up, gents.
